Cloanto Personal Paint This disk contains a complimentary version of Personal Paint, version 4.0 Lite, for the readers of Amiga Dream. This Lite version is up-to-date with the latest commercial version of Personal Paint, and takes advantage of many of its new features. To this, the full version of Personal Paint 4.0 adds advanced characteristics like: image processing, 24-bit printing, multiple file formats, two independent working environments, nine brushes, screen grabber, color reduction, color merge, Floyd-Steinberg remapping, etc. A description of new features of version 4.0 is enclosed. This text can be printed with a word processor, or by typing the following command in a Shell window: Copy PPaint:PPaint.man PRT: Personal Paint may be launched with a double-click on its Workbench icon, on any Amiga with 1 Mbyte of RAM (ideally, Chip RAM). In order to fully exploit the disk capacity, Personal Paint itself has been compressed. On not so fast systems, decompression may slow down the initial loading of the program. To create a decompressed executable file, type the following command in a Shell window: PPaint:Utilities/Deplode PPaint:PPaint Destination:PPaint The "Pictures" drawer contains several 256-color images, plus examples of color reduction, color merge and image processing entirely created with Personal Paint. The program automatically reduces the number of colors of an image if the computer on which it is loaded does not have an AGA (Advanced Graphics Architecture) chip set. It is very easy to explore Personal Paint by choosing from the variety of menus and gadgets. It is recommended to make a backup copy of the program disk before experimenting with functions which write data. The gadgets on the tool bar which is displayed on the left of the screen may respond differently depending on the pointer's position over the gadget (upper or lower half), the mouse button which is used (left or right), and the number of mouse clicks (cycle gadgets). The "Settings/Language" options in this version of Personal Paint can be used to set the user interface language. This disk includes several language files. Personal Paint and the Personal Fonts Maker Color Extensions normally share the same Personal.font for their user interface. The font itself has been upgraded a few times. If you have both programs installed, and experience difficulties because version 4.0 of Personal Paint requires a different version of the font, just remove the font from your FONTS: directory. All versions of Personal Paint and PFM2 also search for the font in their local directories, where the font is normally copied during automatic installation. Keyboard shortcuts to all user interface gadgets. Most requesters and color processing functions have been rewritten or otherwise improved.
