NEWS AND FUTURE PRODUCTS IN THE AMIGA AND ELECTRONIC WORLD 20 NOV 00 New easy to remember telephone number for FORE-MATT Home Computing. We are pleased to announce a new phone number; 08700 11 22 34 which is not only easier to remember but nice and easy to dial as well! 26 OCT 00 The new owners of the Amiga have been very busy over the summer and are the first in many years to actually do something! They announced at an Australian show this month the specs for the new Amiga called the Amiga One. The Amiga One is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2001 and Amiga have just unveiled a dedicated web site for the machine this week. Also announced this week was yet another upgrade for the Classic Amiga Operating System. This will now take us to OS3.9 and should start forming an upgrade path (hardware permitting) towards the Amiga One system for those who do not want to buy a whole new machine. OS3.9 should be ready for this Xmas so get your preorders in now! Amiga are not the only ones to be busy! FORE-MATT Home Computing and Epic are currently developing a new CD Magazine for the Amiga. Fed up with being let down by print magazines we decided to work together and produce an interactive magazine for the 21st Century! We hope to have it ready for the beginning of 2001 and plan to have monthly editions. The price will be just £5 per issue or subscribe for 1 year at only £48. More details will follow soon! 11 JULY 00 New Amiga commercial magazine now available! The Pulse is now being published as a commercial magazine and is the only place to get the latest game and serious software reviews. Unfortunately the only high street magazine currently available has badly let down the market, it caused AF to close and then just didn't perform as it promised with little or no Amiga news or reviews. Now, all this will change with the arrival of The Pulse on the commercial market. The next issue (available from us) at the end of this month has 40 pages packed with reviews and previews and money off vouchers for use at FORE-MATT Home Computing. www.pulsepublishing.co.uk 3 JULY 00 For those on the internet, you can now go to our new website at www.forematt.free-online.co.uk to keep up to date with what we have. You may already know the web address as where we have our company profile. However, over the next few months it will grow into a full web site where we will be uploading far more information than we can fit on a floppy disk. FMHC is the largest stockist of Amiga software in the UK of which this catalogue only forms a part of the vast array of titles we have in stock! 17 JUNE 00 Do you have internet access? If you have an email address then why not subscribe to our new Mailing List: amisecond@forematt.idps.co.uk which contains over 300 second hand games plus an ever increasing list of Retail Retro titles delivered to your email address every month along with our current Amiga list we can then keep you up to date with what we have in stock, exclusive Mailing List special offers and any new titles that are available to order or pre-order etc. Subscription is FREE and all you have to do is send an email to amisecond@forematt.idps.co.uk and put "subscribe Amiga Seconds" in the subject heading and/or subscribe to our normal mailing list & news bulletin at amiga@forematt.idps.co.uk and put "Subscribe Amiga" in the subject heading. You will not be bombarded with loads of adverts and cancelling is just as easy as subscribing. Subscribe now and keep up to date! 28 APRIL 00 For those of you who didn't buy the last issue of Amiga Format you may have missed the distribution news item. Basically FORE-MATT Home Computing has taken over distribution of the ISLONA floppy disk games. What this means for you is that we have reduced the price of these games. Also, we have now formed a partnership with GTI in Germany as mentioned in the NEWCAT pages. This is great news for those who use their Amiga for more than just games as we will now be expanding our range of utility products and making available to order the very best serious software for the Amiga. Unlike other companies that promise products and you end up waiting for months, we will be importing products on a monthly basis, so for most special order items you will only have to wait a month or less! 14 MARCH 00 AMIGA FORMAT CLOSES!!! Sadly, we found out today that Amiga Format magazine is closing and the next issue will be it's last! This was due to the continued falling circulation figures with no sign of a turn around. No doubt Future Publishing got fed up of Ben telling them that Amiga's new owners (a string of many) would be bringing something out soon. Fleecy Moss (one of the latest new owners of Amiga) has stated his regrets at the loss of another Amiga magazine, especially as the developer kits for the New Amiga will be shipping in April. However, even if these do appear this time around it would not have been enough to get new buyers for the magazine. So, folks it is now more important than ever that you return your catalogue disk to find out what new software is available! Or you can register for monthly list by emailing amiga@forematt.idps.co.uk or phone 01793 853802 if you don't have email. 1 FEBRUARY 00 FORE-MATT Home Computing buys VIRUS FREE PD! Today we stopped yet another piece of the Amiga's history from dissappearing into the depths of oblivion! VFPD was one of the large PD libraries of the early 90's who were bought out by Epic Marketing in 1995 but they didn't continue the name and just used it for there compilation packs and CD collections. With Epic now leaving the floppy disk market completely, VFPD could have been lost forever if we hadn't stepped in with an offer! To receive the VFPD catalogue send a blank disk with sae or your order. 10 JANUARY 00 Amiga has been sold! Yes, the ever familiar story continues in this Millenium as it did in the last! News first broke over the Xmas holiday that after Gateway stripped everything they needed from the Amiga buyout they finally decided to discard, for a small sum of money, the bit they weren't interested in. As luck would have it that bit happens to be the part that we know as the Classic Amiga. It has been sold to a small consortium of Amiga specialists who have been involved in the Amiga for quite some time and now call themselves Amino {you can probably read about this next month in AF or AA}. More details soon {we hope} 8 DECEMBER 99 THE RIPPER MAGAZINE. For those starved of something to read you could always try this bi-monthly disk mag from Raising Hell Productions. We have an issue 1 in the PD catalogue but it is now under new management with some serious improvements! The Amiga's fastest growing disk mag contains News, Reviews, Interviews, Editorials, Tutorials and a whole bunch of other stuff! For more details visit http://welcome.to/theripper.com {Issue 9 now available from FMHC for £2 which comes on 2 disks plus a free bonus disk, P&P as per PD} 9 AUGUST 99 All gone, deleted etc! In order to make space we have to delete old news so you should have read it earlier. Besides after a year it's not really NEWS anymore!
