INTERVIEW with 4T THIEVES This huge interview was done by Rod/Polaris! Note that this interview was done a long time ago while 4T Thieves was still a member of Cytax! Please introduce yourself to our readers! Name, age, group, function, your outlook?? Well, well! Thiz is 4T Thieves, one of the TWO English members, of a little ol' group calling itself Cytax! And I'm an interviewer (as you already know) as well as a generally maaaad article writer for ICE! I do also find the time to compose the occasional ditty which I send to my friends around to see what they think (as well as writing music for games etc) You want a little more personal info? Well, I'm 3.00m tall, have bright red hair and like wearing seriously BRIGHT colored clothes! As you might have guessed I'm known as the nutter of Cytax! (One of those is incorrect....which one???? hehe!) Can you tell us more about your handle "4T Thieves"? Err. Dat is a gut one! Well, I have had some pretty krap names in the past (see next question!) and decided to change my name for the better. A few guys said that my new name is cool and how did I choose it? Well, I bought an album with a group on it called '4T Thieves' and so I thought, 'WOW, thats a cool name!' It's pronounced '4 T Thieves, as in 4 and T as my first names and Thieves as my sirname... Clever Eh?? (Naaa.... Ed) Hey, ed! Shut yer face man! Well, tell us something about your Amiga history, in what groups have you been before, you know once upon a time lived a ... It all started back in the dim and distant days of, I guess, about 1987? I think that was the year I got my FIRST Amiga! Quite interesting really, as Amiga's were reknowned to be badly made in those days and my case proved that to be correct! I got my Amiga, unpacked it, switched it on, and messed about with it for a good 20 minutes before it went wrong! The Agnus popped out of it's socked and made the screen go green! So, I took it into the local repair shoppe and they fixed it...by banging the top left edge on a bench! The second time it went wrong was while I was playing DEFENDER OF THE CROWN! WOW! and the disk drive buggered up (it was 'FAULTY' to start with they said) and it couldn't tell when I put the disk in! To cut a long story short, I sold that Amiga a year after, got a new one and tried to fit a Fatter Agnus in it (when they were around) It blew my entire circuit board! So, that was 'sold' and I bought two Amiga's (one brand new, one second hand) As for groups I've been in, I started off in a KNOWN group, Slipstream was my first 'REAL' group, then we changed groups to Reaktor (Mystik will know about this!) Which then collapsed and I joined Rebels UK (Yep, shit group!) I was known as New-Wave at that time...That was then disbanded and we all joined Legacy which then joined a co-op with Mayhem! So I decided to change my name to 'Shockwave' I was even in Share & Enjoy for a day! But left cos I couldn't be in two groups at once! After ALL this hastle with L & M I wrote to the guys in Hamburg (Cytax!) and asked if I could start a UK division (so to speak!) and they said it was a good idea! That's when I joined Cytax (about a year ago!) Then after a few months I changed my name to '4T Thieves' Now, do you ask wether I get REAL trouble from lamers? Well, there is the story of a certain FAT lamer from around here (called One-O-One/? AVOID THIS GUY!) While I was away in foreign parts he wrote me a letter telling me how lame I was? And he also sent a letter to Amph/Cytax telling him I was crap and that I should be kicked from Cytax! Well, little did he know that I visited Amph! Then there was the pretty funny phone calls from this guy, as well as having a LOT of junk mail turn up on my doorstep AND having taxis sent round to my house! This didn't do to much to help HIS reputation after I warned a few people about him! Eat LEAD, BLOB! Anyway, enough of this. Oki doki, what computers have you owned before the Amiga? Let's go back in time to the old C-64 scene. What do you think about it, comparing it to the present Amiga scene? What has time brought forward till now, and what has been lost? Which directions do you think the Amiga scene will develop? What about the PC scene, do you see any future in it? I have had the great pleasure of working on the following machines (?) in the past, The Sinclair ZX81 (Yeah, COOOL 2 color, NO SOUND! haha) VIC 20, one of CBM's first machines which WAS a bit better that the ZX81! Then I moved to the Spectrum 128k! That was COOL! With 16 colors, 3 channel sound and all kinds of great features (like color clash etc) Well, I did program a BIT on the Speccy, but I got the progs our of a book, so that doesn't count! After the faithful old Speccy I moved onto FAR better things, yes! The Atari...800 XL! Which was the best! But, I got fed up with that and went to the ........ AMIGA! As for the PC scene, a few of my friends from the old Amiga scene moved to the PC as they say it has a much brighter future than the Amiga (or so they say!) Continues on the next article...
