TITLE: One Really Early Piece PALETTE:0223 0779 099b 09a9 3 TREACL-CELEBRATION-PARTY (16th to 17th Nov.1991) the report by RokDaZone/GLOOM Ok, this is the very first report from the party, because it is only dealing with the very first day of it. Later on we will see why... We ( Higgie/GLOOM & me ) arrived at the partyplace at about 12.15 p.m. and found a rather huge sportshall "filled" with about 20 persons. And because of the fact, this was going to be a legal party, everybody was playing `LOTUS ESPRIT II!`. "Well," I said-what else should I have said? (by the way the most copied proggy on this party was L.E.II...) But after a while live came into the hall and Higgie soon met some old friends so we had some nice chats, but that is of no interest. So here a hopefully complete list of all groups showing up (no order): CONTRAST, TREACL (Yuk!), AWAKE, PRECISE, HYSTERIC, TIME ZONE, GLOOM, UNIQUES, EXORT, WHIPLASH, EFECT, VANISH, PIRATES, COMPLEX, XENOX, CRYSTAL BYTES, DYNASTY, PARANOID, MODEL, ANTARIX, SUICIDE, DEFCON 1, TRACKERS, THE DARK DEMON, SCIENTS, MEXX, THE SPECIAL BROTHERS, ADEPT, NOSTRUM, ... All in all about 2155 people 1showed up that first day. You see, just a few bigger groups, but a lot of new ones! The organisators were - mainly - friendly and tried to do the best they could ( thanx for ya help - we got the ferry. Thanx also for the GUMMI- BAERCHEN, njamm!), but unfortunately that was not enough. Sometimes the whole organisation team seemed a bit confused, e.g.: They got no idea, when the competitions will take part and than they`ve lost some songs for the music-competition, because of problemes in dealing with their DH0: ... But here some voices of other guests: 2Sledge/ADEPT : 1"Not that advanced ... " 2Crazy Crack/MEXX : 1"Room nice, too less people showing up." 2Arealupsetguy/MODEL: 1"Pure shit!" 2Avenue/TIME ZONE : 1"3+" (school grade, meaning about average) 2Excalibur/T.D.Demon: 1"Shitty power supply, but they are trying to do their best..." 2Elmex/PARANOID : 1"Organisation - neat, People - cool mood!, beer-serving staff - pure shit!, Power supply - #§%$X*!! (CENSOR!)" (NO I won`t write your slogan:"und alle mal lachen" down here...) Well, that leads me to the biggest probleme: 2THE P O W E R SUPPLY !!! 1WOK, that was cruel! Cables (some defekt) lying everywhere you step that caused one-stumble-per-minute, flickering monitors, total breakdowns and blackouts every 5 mins... Painfully yelling coders, crying musicians and apathetic glancing GFXers. No, to get serious again, a breakdown nearly caused loss of all advertisements for the new advertising mag of AWAKE and T.D.DEMONS needed about 1 hour to write the scrolly for their denfo, because of all these blackouts. But I have to admit, at about 9.30 p.m. TREACL finally managed to get it work (as I said before: THEY TRIED... ) Another negative point: the music. Not only that I didn`t like it - that would be too subjective - but also it was far too loud!!! Together with my collegue Survivor/DEFCON ONE - writing for HACK MAG - I tried to find out about the reasons for the high prizes ("But da BEER is cheap. I think that`s worth to be mentioned!"). We were told, that this is the longest party in northern Germany (up to now) and the rent for da hall was about 1200,-DM... But they are going to do a further party next summer and it`s going to be cheaper then ( `Hoping I`m quoting right). Well, let`s wait and see... Also, they excused themselves for disinformation that was given before the party... Because I was told that VOGUE and SKID ROW would show up! WELL, OF COURSE THEY DIDN`T. Comment TREACL:3"This was a bad method to get people coming. 3If you tell us the name of our member, stating this, we`ll draw our 3consequences." 1I didn`t tell them... But it would be unfair to say that this party was lame, because there were a lot of - mainly smaller - groups producing and releasing, e.g.: PRECISE (Demo), TIME ZONE (MegaDemo), XENOX (SoundDisk), MEXX (Demo), AWAKE (Advertising Mag), T.D.DEMON (Intro & Denfo), PARANOID (MultiPart- Demo), TRACKERS (Demo), ... for further details see PARTYNEWS. But at 9.30 p.m. the number of visitors dramatically decreased and also we were leaving at 10.30 p.m. . Nothing more to say than, this was a average party, but a good chance for smaller groups to meet each other and get known in the scene... And at least this was a positive aspect! The very l a s t word is given by the guys of TREACL themselves: "Well, we won`t get our money back, because of da low number of visitors but we had a good time and enough fun. So that`s o.k. ..." 3PARTYNEWS & RUMOURS: - 2AWAKE 1will release their new advertising mag "INFANT" on the 17th Nov. - The 2HYSTERIC-PARTY 1on the 29th Dec. is cancelled... - 2AWAKE 1seems to be in war with someone of 2EXORT 1or 2FATE 1or whatever (?) - 2PIRATES 1split up into an illegal (PIRATES) and a legal(CREATORS) part. - 2CLASSIC 1is DEAD (I don`t know if it`s new nor if it`s true!) - There`s going to be a 2GLOOM-PARTY 1on the 29th Nov.-1st Dec. in northern Germany. 3DEMOS SPREAD ON THE 16TH NOV. AT THE TREACL-PARTY: 21) THE DARK DEMON 1- No more interferences_intro: PlasmaEffects, zooming cyclepics and transparent 1 plane GFX. I don`t like that music, sorry folx... Furthermore it is not easy to read the text with all that plasma behind it. 22) THE DARK DEMON - Denfo: 1(Thanx for the Preview) Neat HAM-Pics and coding, not so advanced logos. The preview, I got contained no music, so listen yourself. All in all neat. (What da hell is a Denfo???) 23) PARANOID - Full Power (Multipart Demo): It starts with some GFX and a starfield. Followed by a Dot-Scrolly, vectorballs and rather simple filled VectorObjects (CUBE) and finally some digitized pictures from the PARANOID-PARTY (what party?) and a very weak ending... The music is not my style containing old instruments of 4-Mat. Also there are some bugs left - pitty that! On the first view this seemed to be a real good Demo... 24) GLOOM - Party Invitation-Intro: Our first release was created in a few hours and it is nothing more and nothing less than a party invitation... 25) MEXX - Codator (Multipart Demo (or is it a MegaDemo?)): A real dramatical begin containing GFX and SFX-effects is followed by a Celebrandil-box. Then there are some of those standard fractal- calculation ( even rather slow ) and some - HUM! - 3D Fractals (?)... followed by RGB-Plasma, which you can controll in speed and sine via joystick... quite nice!!! Click it and you get some filled "normal", transparent or lightsourced vectors (I like that pencil) and than sum Realtime zooming cyclepics which are real fast, I think. Finally you can watch a fast starfield-routine behind some text and than - simple but nice - the ending picture... This was the best one so far. (By the way, thanx for the pre-release. I haven`t spread it then, as promised!) 26) XENOX - Sounddisk: Well, no coding, no gfx - but nice tunes (mainly ripped samples). 27) CRYSTAL BYTES - Sounddisk: Well, no coding, no remarkable gfx - some neat tunes.
