Yes, those were troubled times and even the most optimist people didn't believe it really that we would return. Ok, there were claims that still 100.000 A1200 would be in stock on the Philippines and dozends of concerns have been said to have bought the rights on the AMIGA. The remains of C= DK wanted to know at the PARTY IV that the battle would be over in a few weeks and the AMIGA 5000 would be out by the end of 1995. Yet, we knew it: This was fiction. Now that AMIGA TECHNOLOGIES are on the turn for half a year now, many people tempt to be disappointed about what is (not) happening: No new AMIGAs. No A1200 at 500,-DM. 3 WHAT DID YOU EXPECT? Seemingly too much. Whilst everybody concentrated on declaring the PC a war that we can nothing but lose, 2AMIGA TECHNOLOGIES 1did something wonderful: They started to sell the idea of the AMIGA as homie-computer to the big selling business. Suddenly, Germanies biggest directmarket- and phonesalary companies stated to blow breath into the scene by actually selling the AMIGA 1200 plus software plus accessoires exclusivly. Never ever before have I seen so many advertising for our beloved "girlie". Even 2VOBIS 1is told to buy in the A1200 bundle as low-end machine. Despite I thought it never would happen, 2ESCOM 1is actually selling and advertising the AMIGA 1200. Ok, the 2AMIGA 4000T is a look into the toilet 1but I guess it is rather are try to give some seriosity to the communtiy. We ain't just a pack of gamers - we are professionals without profession. 3WHAT NEXT? Well, the 2PowerAMIGA 1seems to be rather near. 2Phase5 1presented a prototype of there RISC-based turboboard in Cologne and AMIGA TECHNOLOGIES aimed the first quarter of 1997 to launch the (let's call it) 2A50001. The processors are still a little uncertain, but our next generation will be awfully fast. 68060 (40) by factor 4-6 maybe. If this will beat the new generation of PC's, I don't dare to say as I don't know enough about the ongoings at Intel, but be sure that we have one thing in advance: A remade OS - something Windows'95 really can't offer. Don't be afraid of the year we have to stand without a new model: We have stood more than a year without AMIGAs in the shops - this didn't kill us, so some further months won't do. 2 The AMIGA is actually trained for a better use on the internet. New games are coming. 2 Old software companies keep the faith. The DRACO is an AMIGA and it is successful. 2 50000 (!) people in Cologne. The A1200 magic bundle is really great at that price (and under misregard 2 of Pinball Mania (what a bad game)). The shareware-section booms (and damned it's good). 2 1995 was an awfully good scene-year with stunning releases. No doubt about it, we are back, better than ever. The word of the hour is euphorism - and we deserve it after such a long term of waiting. Now we get a second chance and I'll be damned if we can't make it. So, come to reason and invest into you machine - it's the only way of keeping the AMIGA attracting to companies. 3I am also thinking of buying games, folx.
