TITLE:Are we leaving out something important? PALETTE:0223 0779 0899 0b8a 3 CZECH SEPERATISM - A NEW MARKET FOR A NEW COMMODORE? More and more eastern lands have more or less integrated themselves into the AMIGA-globe. One of the countries that has less integrated, is the CZECH Republic. In difference to Poland whose groups early tried to get connected to the mid-european scene (2UNION1, 2MAD ELKS1, 2OLD BULLS1, 2FLYING COWS1, 2INVESTATION1) or - yes! - also in contrast to East Germany with its ambitious newcomers (2INFECT1, 2ESKIMOS1, 2RECALL1), the 3Czech AMIGA users have gotten more and more into 3self-chosen seperatism. Do you know 2VECTORS1? I bet most of you don't - well, maybe you have seen their excellent 2BOHEMIA 1slideshow - it actually appeared in some charts. And 2PICI1? Have you seen their 2PREMIUM WIT1-demo? It featured kinda highlevel code. And what does 2JOFA 1tell you? No, not another fancy drink. It's a human being (I think) and 2he's one of the most known AMIGA-stars 1... in the Czech Republic. That's astounding to me, since I have learned that Czech graphicians are evolving like Polish coders: Slow, but becoming faster and better. JOFA once sent me a handdrawn masterpiece and since the time I know him and his paintings ( ca. 2 years) he has become a real skilled painter on the AMIGA, too. I have heared music from Czech-AMIGA musicians that wasn't any worse than those from bigger groups from the established nations. Only the coders are a little slow, but who cares when seeing that Poland has made it without real skilled graphicians? Yesyes, their evolving, ok... I don't want to bloke out spells like Poland is coming (a not so tasty picture I have when thinking of a whole nation coming at the same time), but what I wonder about is the fact that there is a sub-scene in the Czech Republic. They run own mags - Czech only. They release demos, sounddisks and so on - mostly with Czech scrollies. Boy, I remember the time when the German speaking natons were the top diskmag producers - all those quarrels about German articles. Everybody outside the before-mentioned areas responded agressivly and now (only two years later) it gets fashionable to insert one or two articles in a decent hometongue (Hi, Macno!). We even had a bilangual mag (2THING 1from 2APPLAUSE1-Poland). What I wanted to say is that there no one cares about those Czech releases. Does it mean, the stuff doesn't get spread at all? As I concentrate parts of my swapping on the Eastern countries (still searching for contacts from the ex-USSR), 3I must say that only seldomly I get Czech releases although I know 3that there IS a scene. I tried to find the reasons for their seperatism. 2Nationalistic tendencies? Would be no wonder since the Czech Republic is a new nation, but normally the interlectual parts of a community try new technological steps first and those are more able (in average) to consider and sort out... this made us become an international scene (with a lot buggers nowadays). Maybe it is also the 2fear of 2an overmighty rest-scene? 1Or do we have to find our own mistake in our arrogancy towards new evolving arms of a scene, we call creative? In the end we have to ask us if there might be a new market for us. New streamings? New trends? 2Is such a new market interesting after the death of C= 2anyway? 1Yes, it is. More than ever, the AMIGA-scene has to come together and to stick together. If there are new possibilities to remain a vital community, we have to try them. Or would you better like to wait if a new C= will evolve and make new markets uninteresting to us? Will new markets be uninteresting then in the end? Again yes. A new C= doesn't mean that everything is saved. If C= doesn't get enough consumers and therefore money early, it will go down like before - and then there will be no one trying to bring life back into it. This is why will have to stimulate other nations to become part of the scene to allow new selling markets... 2 East-German groups gave "strange" a new meaning... 3 Polish groups gave "design" a new meaning... 2 Hungarian groups gave "business" a new meaning... They all have one thing in common: They integrated and innovated. Czech groups don't integrate but this doesn't mean they don't innovate! I'd like to end this article by letting you decide if it would be a move worth-a-try to get them out of their holes and maybe increase our chances to keep the scene alive.
