TITLE:Another upsetter here. PALETTE:0113 0989 0789 0aa8 3 C= BUYS C= ...AND SELLS ITSELF! by Killerhawk/DESTROYERS PC So, where are all these contracts that all LAMIGIANS announced with pride swollen chest? 2SAMSUNG1, 2SONY 1or even 2SEGA 1- why should they be interested in an oldfashioned platform like the LAMIGA is? 3C= UK wants to buy all of C=... Yeah, gonna be plenty of fun to watch how once again, everything goes down the drain. C= UK might (although I doubt it) have the financial power, to get grip over the rights on the LAMIGA platform, but it won't definately have the money, to let the C= international stay alive. Take a look at Germany: There is still somebody in business, but it seems all he is doing is to calculate, how much money C= Germany owes its former staff out of not payed wages. Most other local offices are in the same position or have closed already. What would this mean for Mr.Whitaker at C= UK? They will have to close down everything except for the British office. Production plants will be closed totally and new - weaker - ones will be put to work. 3This will cause: 21.) 1Lower capacities in producing 22.) 1 Lower production costs that won't reflect on the end-price for the consumer as first, the whole schebang will have to be sanitated - leaving same or even higher prices for the consumer for hte new LAMIGAs (if they ever will be out). 23.) 1Every non-British LAMIGA "user" will have to order his machines from the British office. Therefore, he will pay a lot of money for machines of lower quality than before (if that's possible in the end) abroad by taking immensivly long waiting times in risk, as the new producing plants will be quite un-productive. Hey, awake! Isn't it better to cross the street one time and buy yourself a highend COMPUTER (=PC) at a reasonable price for QUALITY productions at the next PC-distributor and take it home the day you bought it? Or do you love spending money for the uncertain arrival of a heap of metal and plastic which no one can guarantee its functionability for? Factual: The remains of C= know what the time is - they are just about to sign deals for LAMIGA-emulatorcards to PC-distributors. Not that anyone here is really interested in it, but barely for the fact that each LAMIGA user nowadays is a potential (if not sure) PC-buyer. They speculate that you LAMIGIANS feel bound enough to your little pocketcalculators to stick to them for nostalgic reasons... and therefore making money out of the remains for the last time. Fair or unfair, who would judge? In the end, it won't help anything as you LAMIGIANS always tried to code around the hardware and the guides set up by C= (what will this prove in the end). Means: All your fishy scene productions ain't worth a penny on an emulatorcard! 3So, after C= tries to buy and sell itself, why sticking to te fix idea of the 3recovery of the LAMIGA? Ok, there might be promises of a LAMIGA 5000, but same was with the C65! Ok, there might be a exhibition in Cologne in November, but its a DEALERS-exhibition! This means companies, depending on C= show their products. OK, there might be a 060-turbocard available, but for the price you invested in the LAMIGA4000 plus the price of the turbocard, you could have gotten yourself a PENTIUM at 90Mhz plus a HP Laserjet... 3It ain't worth the time and the trouble - not to mention the wasted money! Go 3buy yourself a computer now.
