After every bigger party - namingly the very last parties in Denmark on X-mas - the producers of the winning demo are pushed to god-alike statuses by the mean crowd. No matter what it was, always they get pushed to the highest ranks in the charts - which are told to be the objective measurement for quality (what a nerdish idea). What about those 2SILENTS 1with their damned 2Hardwired1? It was epochmaking? Well, sort of a short epoche since those geniuses (who even can't figure out a simple tuning mistake and fix it - greets to Jesper Kyd) never dared their asses back to the light of the scene really. Still, this Hardwired thingy is one of the most copied demos nowadays. Only two years after its release the crowd finally manages to experience that two years ago, some dudes had a slightely new idea and therefore they copy it "slightely" (so, no one gets the idea that they are ripping the style - which of course they are doing). Looking at the charts, it clambered for two years on the top positions... And State of the Art. Only the harsh criticism of jealous main-editors and self-called hardcore coders (in fact Hardcore got released by ANARCHY - here we face again the fickleness of the crowd ;-> ) prevented the coder to be lifted to the same heights like the one talked about before. People didn't ask, they promptly said that 2SPACEBALLS 1have one of the best designs (how primitive to measure this from only one demo). The musician still doesn't want to leave the charts although - when it comes to quality - he vaguely deserves his ranking. And what graphics are you talking about? The title-pic? Man alive! The weeny dragon-baby looked like cutted out with a scissor! Now, we have 2Origin1. What was so special about it? A someone from somewhere finally managed to do some routines that try to tickle the 68020. For me this should be standard by now, but - well - if you prefer being impressed by something that should be natural nowadays... I'd give him the award for having done the most logic consequence from getting a new processor. And - hey! - he deserves his ranking in the charts, but definately not the first place. Shall I tell you why? You're not asked for your opinion in here so keep quite. It's because of the question for what he shall deserve being the nr.1? Having done one demo? Great choice, maniacs, great choice. And listen to the music. Even if one likes "Techno" (blaaargh! What a wide-ranged term) how can one even try to like this noisy hammering. It's not hard enough for hardcore (see above) and has no harmonices so it can't be considered an ordinary popsong. What does it equal? Right: A chart-topping position... Here again only few (although fairly nice) graphics - no need for enthusiastic voting, mates. Why do you vote for people that appear one time, get their money paid and then vanish? Why don't you vote for people having done multiple demos? Why do you vote for people in different categories just because their productions - that not necessarily are above the average - are inserted into a competition topper? 3Why not voting for people who combine skills with attraction? Is it only because you are sheeps? You tell me you are of a different kind. The scene always has been anarchism and such, but you let yourself getting steared by opinion like the people, being in your eyes the opposite of yourself in living: Your parents. You are square like them. You hate me now. Of course you do. To be confronted with the truth is hard. But open your eyes and think if you always wnat to overwhelmed by trends. I know that I personally offended people in here. Although I won't apologise, I'd lie to say that my statemanets don't mean I can't/don't appreciate their work. But I feel like many of them understand what I mean - if they don't they without no doubt deserve some kind of real criticism. 2Paparazzi rules.
