This  is`nt  a  reply  to  Kei`s article in Word 12, its my own personal
experience  of losing friends.  When I joined the computer scene in 1982
it  was in its infancy, since then I`ve had four other computers and met
countless  people  through  this  media.   Only  my  present mates (Dave
Diamond,  Kei,  Bootblock, Koffin Blood etc.) do I keep in touch with as
the  others have faded into a dim and distant past.  Heres a list of the
best mates I had in computing circles....

1 - Peter Holden  (Spike)

I  dont know where he is now as the last time I contacted him was a year
ago,  this  man  I  met in a Computer shop and struck up a bondship that
lasted  years.   He  introduced  me  to  the Amiga and we had some right
laughs  together,  anyone  living in the Thetford area will remember the
T.S.S (Thetford Swap Shop).  Around 1992 we had about 4000 disks between
us  on  the Amiga, but unfortunately I moved to Felixstowe in the summer
of 92 and we drifted apart.  If anyone knows where he is, where he works
please get in touch with me cos I want to get back in touch with him.  I
think  he  worked  in  a  computer  shop in Bury St Edmunds and lived in
Weeting near Brandon.


2 - Ivan Robinson  (Wurzel)

Ivan  and  I  grew  up together through the ZX81 to the Amiga, we were a
main  force  inthe C64 hacking scene in 1986/87/88 around Norfolk and we
released  quite  a  few cracked games together.  We also coded some daft
demos  on said 64, "Scrollerama" and "Eclipse 2000" being the best ones.
He   was   a   great   mate  and  technically  a  brilliant  programmer,
unfortunately  we  lost  contact  in 1991 when he moved and got married,
last I heard he has two boys.  Dunno what he`s up to now tho.


3 - Simon Ford  (Pogo)

Simon  and  myself  met  at  an  Ipswich  match in 1992 and pissed about
together  for two years, he was a laugh and a good swapper to know.  The
bummer  was  that he smoked grass for a while and he eventually sold his
Amiga, prat!  Last time I saw him was on the pitch at Portman Road after
the Man Utd game in 1994.


4 - Shaun Goldson  (CBMG)

If  you`re reading this mate get in touch!!!!  He was a mad C64 user and
Spurs  fan but I dont hold that against him, he used to come round to my
place  to watch Cebit 90 on my 500 while I pissed around on my C128, mad
fool.   Last I heard from him he was engaged and contemplating buying an
A4000, hope he did so he can read this and write to me!!!


5 - Wally Beben  (Hagar)

Anyone remember this mad musician??  He only did the music for Tetris on
the  C64  and  Elite on the Amiga, he taught me how to have more than 32
sprites  on  screen  at once on the C64, a trick I thought impossible at
the  time.   This is also the man who called a demo of mine on the Amiga
"Mental",  I  am in awe!!!  He`s now living in Newcastle and working for
ICL.


Thats a few of the mates I knew, anyone got similar lists??
