The docs for... |1-DiCK's CD Player continued... List Play: ========== Displays a small window of 30 numbered gadgets and a "list" area showing those tracks you've selected. From this window you may select 30 tracks in any order, you can select the same track several times, and there are other gadgets with various functions: Wipe - Wipe all entries and start again. Loop - Loop play all the entries in the list window. Save - Save the current selections to the CD's index file. Load - Load a previously saved setup from the index file. You are advised to save your playlists, so that you can load in all your favourite selections at the touch of a button. When you save it a file will be created in your CD index directory under the ID string of the CD but with the extension ".pl" instead of ".cd", so for the previous index example the file "44F3D5B6FE1D1C140D00.pl" would be created, there will then be two files for this CD... 44F3D5B6FE1D1C140D00.cd - The contents list. 44F3D5B6FE1D1C140D00.pl - The play list. Index Mode: =========== Index mode will display a window containing three string gadgets for the Album, Group and Track names. The "Prev" and "Next" buttons move through the track names one at a time allowing you to enter or change the names of all the tracks on the CD. Clicking on "Save" will save these details to the disk in the directory specified in the preferences file, clicking on "Load" will restore the window contents to their last saved settings. For easier navigating and editing you can use the Cursor Left/Right keys in place of "Prev and "Next", and pressing Enter when no text gadget is activated will activate the "Track" string gadget. This lets you enter the details for the entire CD without having to reach for the mouse all the time. Do not forget to save the CD index before exiting this section, although the details will not be lost unless you either quit DCDP or eject the CD from the drive, in which case you will be left with the details that are saved in the index file, if any. øפ°"¬¯¬"°¤×øפ°"¬¯¬"°¤×øפ°"¬¯¬"°¤×øפ°"¬¯¬"°¤×øפ°"¬¯¬"°¤×ø MakeCDFile ========== WARNING! MakeCDFile should only be run via the CLI or Shell, using this program via it's icon will crash your Workbench! If you're using the unregistered version of DCDP then you will be unable to use the program mode at all, which means you won't be able to edit the names of the CD's and their tracks either. Because this somewhat limits the usefulness of DCDP a small program has been provided to go in your C: directory called "MakeCDFile". Ensure that no other program is accessing the CD drive (inluding DCDP) and run it from the CLI or Shell. Answer the questions as they appear, and the new CD File will be written out to the directory specified in the file "ENVARC:DCDP.prefs". øפ°"¬¯¬"°¤×øפ°"¬¯¬"°¤×øפ°"¬¯¬"°¤×øפ°"¬¯¬"°¤×øפ°"¬¯¬"°¤×ø The Prefs Program ================= This simply allows you to specify the directory that DCDP will use to load and save it's index files. Type in the string (making sure it ends in either a ":" or a "/" character) and click on "Save", the prefs will be written out to "ENVARC:DCDP.prefs". Future versions of the Prefs program may allow you to specify other information to affect the running of DCDP, rest assured that these will remain compatable with your existing preference files. øפ°"¬¯¬"°¤×øפ°"¬¯¬"°¤×øפ°"¬¯¬"°¤×øפ°"¬¯¬"°¤×øפ°"¬¯¬"°¤×ø Undocumented Features... ======================== » Occasionally you may remove a CD and replace it with another only to find that DCDP loads the details for the CD that you have just removed, nobody knows why... » Not a bug per sé, but if you use the PD patch "CentreTitles" then the "Program List" window will be slightly corrupted with a copy of the window title text. øפ°"¬¯¬"°¤×øפ°"¬¯¬"°¤×øפ°"¬¯¬"°¤×øפ°"¬¯¬"°¤×øפ°"¬¯¬"°¤×ø Registering: ============ To registered DCDP, print out and complete the file "Reg.form" and send it together with a cheque or postal order for £5.00 (made payable to "R. Monks") to: R. Monks, P.O.Box 42, Grimsby, N.E.Lincolnshore DN33 1RY You will be sent the full registered version of DCDP as soon as possible but please allow 14 days for delivery before you start to complain!
