******************************** ** New Amiga Portable laptops ** ******************************** Silent Paw Productions, a manufacturing plant in the States have developed a portable workstation upgrade kit which rehouses your Amiga into a new case just like Micronik Service has developed the Micronik Tower for the A1200. As tests are currently being applied, these kits are only available in the States. What will happen is these kits will be transported over to the UK for few modifications, therefore should be fully available by sometime in January where Blittersoft will be supplying them. This new add-on is set to transform your Amiga to a portable laptop. Available to 600/1200/3000/4000. The PAWS 600/1200 kit includes a case, basic LCD driver card (upgradable), active colour LCD, power unit that can mount up to two batteries, one battery power supply, and pocket size trackball. No soldering. Includes Link-It and Cross Dos Pro. The PAWS 3000/4000, same as PAWS 600/1200 but no battery support and uses Enhanced Driver Card. The latest driver card will support Passive Colour LCDs and handles most Amiga display modes and include PAL. Blittersoft, not only will they release the unit themselves but they will also release completed laptop systems and they can also fit your Amiga for you. Prices ====== I suspect the prices to be similar to the very expensive PC laptops. As you can be looking at figures, anything up to £2500 as I've been told!!!?? 2/3 of the price you're paying for the colour LCD display. And that really is steep! Although the active colour LCD was said to be the cut down version therefore we expect the cost to be much lower. I WAS intending to buy one when I go out into industry this summer, although I don't see problems in affording that unit and upgrade the A600 (the slave). But £2500!!!!??? What would I rather buy?!
