So  then,  the  group  I  joined  last November is gaining more and more
recognition.   A  big nyah-nyah to all those groups out there who didn't
think  we  were  up  to much.  Now that Kei's been made co-editor of The
Word,  he's made me co-editor of CID (Carnage Internal Disk), which is a
disk  that  gets  distributed through the group and passes on individual
comments,  ideas,  programs, texts, etc...  and I get to put in comments
here  and there and generally take the piss out of peoples text (in good
taste, of course).

I  guess  you'll  have  read  my  last  articles on The Word 7.  One was
written  in a wierd mood and I was surprised that Freak put it on there.
The  other  one  was  basically commenting on previous Word disks.  Nice
poems,  Kei!  The Word is the only diskmag that I feel like sitting down
and  having  a read.  I've tried a few others, but they're really not up
to much.  Who said you couldn't program good things in Amos?  Eh?

There's  a  lad  moved  in  downstairs (I'm a stoodunt,
y'see)  and he's got an Escom Pentium 75, and I kid you
not, it sounds as if there's hamsters squeaking inside.
He   says   his   CD   drawer's   loose,   but  I  know
otherwise...Evidently Escom don't know Intel chips from
rubber bands, which doesn't bode well for the future of
the  Amiga.   £400?   A  year  ago,  the  base unit was
selling  for  around £250 I think.  Escom could package
an  A1200  with a 50MHz CPU + FPU and four megs of fast
ram  and sell it for around £700.  They'd make a bomb on that.  Okay, so
you  can  pick  up  a  DX4/100 for around that price, but do you want to
spend  half  an  hour  on  each game that you buy just to get it to work
(most  of  the time without sound) ?  Or would you rather have a totally
configurable  machine that has a built in chipset that whips shit out of
the PC's "custom" chipset.  It's not a hard decision, is it?

Well, the Carnage "Gathering" wasn't up to much, everyone making excuses
for  not  being  able  to  come.   In the end, there was me, Kei, Amida,
Spin/Karma, Cage and someone called Simon C.  Simon was a very very nice
man,  as he'd brought round his brand new Powerscan 4 colour.  And I saw
that  it  was  good.   I sold my old hard drive to Cage and got myself a
560mb.   What  a  difference,  although it's noticeably slower, it has a
200meg  partition  on  it  that  I  haven't  even  touched  yet  (except
quick-formatting it).

I wanted to end with a witty joke, but I couldn't be arsed.
