This interview was recorded in my house and all the questions were asked and thought of by Col. Editing and typing by me (The Elf). Col: When did you first join NFA? Elf: About two or three months after I got my first Amiga, I say about a year ago. They were advertised in Micro Mart. Col: What do you, and what have you done for NFA? Elf: Anything and everything. Mostly modules and pictures now but at first I did -very shit- compacts (The Tools), they`ve improved alot now! Col: The Elf?! Bit of a bloody crap handle, why did you choose it? Elf: Thanks for the compliment, when I joined my first group I was about fourteen and I was a right midget for my age plus it was original!! Col: Who was this group and what were they like? Elf: Syncro Systems, a shit hot Atari St group... Col: ST?! Elf: Yeah I know, they did the best compacts ever!! A 720k disk with three games on it -one file of course- and a 60k long intro, if they can do that on an St why not an Amiga? Col: The Amiga`s shit "I need this and that libary that`s 1000K long" O.S, thats why! Elf: Yeah, the Amiga needs all the important libs in Rom like the St, even better if they had all of the Workbench and Cli commands in there aswell. Col: What did you do for Syncro Systems then? Elf: Modules, I owe all my Module-ing talents to the ST Col: You said that you might sell out and buy a 486 PC, is this true or another one of your "idea`s" ? Elf: Nope it`s 100% true Col: Why`s that then? Elf: I`ve spent over 700 pounds on my 1200 and I have still not yet got a hard-drive. I have bought a hard but the first one was faulty, got another one, again it was still faulty. I then thought "I`ll get an Over -Drive as they`re fast and are risk free..", this would be an extra £50 on top of the refund -which was £170- from my other drive. I had over £600 worth of Amiga kit so if I sold it for £500 I could get a PC with money I would of spent on an OverDrive. Hard-drive for my 1200 or a 486 SX33 PC with 170mb hard-drive, SVGA monitor and 4meg of ram, what would you choose? Col: So it`s not because that Commodore`s a sinking ship? Elf: That aswell, check out Virgin or HMV and compare the amount of Amiga software compared to the PC, it`s scarey. The Amiga has virtualy sold out in two months, it was alot longer on the ST. Col: Won`t that prove a problem for NFA? Elf: Naa, I can still do pictures and articles for them, plus compacts. Deck said it was no problem for him, just aslong as I send him Amiga formatted disks with my works on them, all I need is someone to whack`em over from PC disks to Amiga, you`ll do that won`t you Col. Col: O.K if you pay me Elf: Sod off!! Col: What do you think of the Amiga scene in general? Elf: Most groups and group members are cool, but I hate the "I got these warez first, I`ve got more warez than you and if you can`t code at least a million lines in an hour then your shit" attitude. But thats whats its all about, being the best and trying to come out with the newest thing, maybe thats why it appeals to so many people. Col: Any last words? Elf: Come down to Brighton and play "spot the foriegn student".... å DøC By.. ¯°¤°¯¯°¤°¯ CøL & THe eLF ¯°¤°¯°¤°¯°¤°¯
