Instructions for SmashUtil v0.99z
---------------------------------

     This version has been totally revamped to work with the latest
versions of AmiExpress.

     To see the options available in SmashUtil, type "smashutil" from CLI.
You will see the following screen:

Syntax: smashutil <options>

Options:
        -lc  <bbslog> <upload dir> <dest file> - Last 5 Callers & U/Ls
        -st  <ratio>  <dest file>  -  Top 10 U/Lers & D/Lers only
        -ss  <ratio>  <bbslog> <upload dir> <dest file>
               Top 10 U/L & D/Lers, Last 5 Callers & Last 5 U/L's
	   -ul  <dest file> - Make User List
        -tc  <bbslog> <dest file> - Make List of Today's Callers

<ratio>     = Minimum dl/ul ratio to include (0-9; 0 = ignore ratios)
<bbslog>    = Path/filename of your BBS logfile (Ex: bbs:node0/callerslog)
<upload dir>= Path/filename to read uploads from (Ex: bbs:exchange/dir4)
<dest file> = Filename to which you want output directed

Ex: smashutil -st 6 statfile 
    smashutil -ss 6 bbs:node0/udlog bbs:exchange/dir4 fullscreen

Option -lc
----------
     Option -lc prints a list of the last 5 callers, the time they logged
on, and the last five uploads.  The entire first line where the upload
was logged into the directory will be printed.

     To use option -lc type:

               smashutil -lc <bbslog> <upload dir> <dest file>

Example: smashutil -lc BBS:Node0/CallersLog BBS:Exchange/Dir4 lastcallfile

Option -st
----------
     Option -st prints a list of the top 10 uploaders and the top 10 
downloaders on your system.  

     A POWERFUL FEATURE of this particular Top 10 generator is that it allows
you to exclude people with certain ratios from the list. For instance, if 
there is a certain leech on your system who has uploaded googolmegs of crap 
but has leeched googolplexmegs from your system, you certainly would not want
his ass in the top 10 uploaders. The ratio feature of this option (and for 
Option -ss) allows you to exclude people like this.  In other words, you only
want people in the top 10 uploaders if they have maintained a decent ratio 
(say 4 or less). This is what the ratio feature does. You can ignore this
feature by entering a 0 for the ratio.

     To use option -st type:

          smashutil -st <ratio> <dest file>

Example: Smashutil -st 4 toptenfile


Option -ss
----------
     This is the most complex of the options. It prints the last 5 callers,
the last 5 uploads and the top 10 u/l and d/lers all on the same screen. It
also has the ratio feature which works the same way as Option -st.

     To use option -ss type:

          Smashutil -ss <ratio> <bbslog> <upload dir> <dest file>

Example: smashutil -ss 4 BBS:Node0/CallersLog BBS:Exchange/Dir4 fullscrnfile


Option -ul
----------
     This just makes a list of the users on your system, where they are from,
and the last time they called.  I use it on my system as a bulletin and make
it selectable from the menu.

     To use option -ul type:

          SmashUtil -ul <destfile>

Example: SmashUtil -ul userfile

Option -tc
----------
     This makes a list of all the callers for the present day, what time
they called, and the baud rate they called at. I also use this as a
bulletin that people can select from the menu.

     To use option -tc type:

        SmashUtil -tc <bbslog> <destfile>

Example: Smashutil -tc BBS:Node0/CallersLog todayscallersfile


The output from all these examples are included in the archive. Use the
AmiExpress Local Shell to view them, since some of the colors may not
be visible from your WorkBench screen.
