The latest Fish disks Ed: For those new to the Amiga, the "Fish Disks", also known as AmigaLibDisks, are compiled and distributed by Fred Fish in the US, and are the core of the Amiga public domain software & shareware (though there's a lot more if you check out the other listings in this drawer). What it means is that you don't have to pay a fortune for good software, graphics, demos, etc. At Megadisc we act as a relay station for all the PD disks that we can locate, to provide users and programmers with a low-cost service ($3.50 per disk, $2.50 for subscribers). Note that you can also order the Fish CDROMs from us at a cost of $55 if pre-ordered. This is disk 976 of the freely distributable AMIGA software library. This device acts as a pipe between two programs, but in a different manner than the standard `PIPE:' device does. This handler interprets the text after the `APIPE:' prefix as a command line to execute, and the process/command which opens the file indicated by the mention of `APIPE:' can now read the standard output or write the standard input of the program indicated by the command line depending on whether the `APIPE:' file was opened for reading or writing, respectively. Thus, the opening an `APIPE:' file is analogous to the UNIX `popen()' call, but it is more widely available to the user. Complete source is included and can be used as an example of a handler. Version 37.5, an update to version 37.4 on disk number 783. Author: Per Bojsen HWGRCS A 3 part distribution of an RCS 5.6.0.1 port to the Amiga, currently at patch level 8.
