HOW TO SET UP A BOB-SCREEN FOR GRABBING WITH THE AMOS BOB GRABBER[0m Bio-pic: My name is Jeremy Paddison. I'm 17. In my final year at high school. (Year 12 incase you didn't know.) I own a 1MB A500. But I'm soon getting an A1200. My interest in computing is a bit of everything really. I do the odd program in AMOS. I write the odd module in Protracker. I'm better than Simon Whitaker you know! I Muck around with DPaint and MovieSetter. (I'm no Eric Schwartz though.) And my last interest would have to be games but I find that every month I spend less and less time playing games. I haven't played a singlegame for 3 weeks running. I also consider myself to know a bit about the CLI. The reason why I am so good at CLI based stuff is because I used to own an IBM. (Horror of horrors!) But the moment I saw an Eric Schwartz anim on a 3MB A2000 a year ago I fell in love with the machine. I promptly sold my PC and got myself a brand spanking new A500. Man was I impressed. I've never looked back since. If you are thinking of selling up and buying an IBM. Don't! It's not worth it! Well that's it! Thanks for enduring my crap literary skills. You will need: * An Amiga * A copy of DPaintIII or IV * Yourself * A copy of AMOS * A copy of my Bob Grabbing program * Make all your bobs in DPaint. Remember they can only be up to 128 pixels wide. Most probably you will be making animation frames for a main sprite in a platform game or something like that. So I'll explain the procedure for these people. The others, improvise. * Make anim of character moving, while still staying stationary, know what I mean? * Pick up your animated man, ball, whatever, as an animbrush. * Swap to the spare screen. (The one without the animation frames.) * Find out how high and wide your animbrush is. (Use Co-ords to check dimensions.) * Round the width up to 16,32,64 or 128. If the animbrush is 40 pixels wide it would be rounded up to 64. Select the grid option with the right mouse-button. Change the X-Value to whatever figure you eventually came up with. Change the Y-Value to a few pixels more than the height. Click on O.K. * Construct a grid with the line drawing gadget as a guide. * Click the right mouse button on the grid gadget. Select 'Adjust'. You should have a grid as a brush now. Pick a corner, any corner and position directly in the middle of one of the squares already in the picture, now click the left-mouse button. * Click the 'Clear Screen' gadget. * Now you can restore your animbrush and paste it down along the top row until you get to the end of the screen. continue on the next imaginary line until you have pasted all frames of the animbrush. * Before you save your bobscreen, take note of the total No. of images, Width and height of images (the same No.s you entered as the grid size.), images across, images down. * Save bobscreen. Load up AMOS and let my bob grabber do the work. The beauty is you can have bobs in low or medium resolution and in any no. of colours you want.
