HINTS ON USING POSTSCRIPT FONTS IN PAGESTREAM

   Let us talk about Fonts in PageStream.  Many owners of PageStream are
  having trouble with using PostScript Fonts in PageStream v2.1.  Much of
  this stems from lack of documentation by PageStream on using the Font
  Manager.

   Whenever you change the fonts in your main PageStream PSFonts Directory or
  in a sub-directory, there are some points that must be observed:

 (i)   Let us assume that you have suddenly gotten hold of 15 new Fonts in
  Adobe Type 1 Format

 (ii)  You add these to your current PSFonts Directory or sub-directory.

 (iii) From the FONTS DIRECTORY you select the Manager Gadget and delete the
  current listings, then do an ADD, to get your new Fonts into play, use
  this to your heart's content and then turn off the computer.

 (iv) When you boot up next, there is every possibility that you cannot use
  your intended fonts - why?  Well there are several reasons for this, the
  most important being that you did not use the Global Font Path Gadget and
  reset the path to your main PSFonts Drawer and its sub-directories.

 (v)   To rectify this problem you need to follow some simple steps:

[1]   From the GLOBAL Paths Gadget, select Manager.
[2]   Remove ALL entries.
[3]   ADD your new Path/Paths for PSFonts and any sub-directories.
[4]   Having set this up to your requirements, save this using the DEFAULT
      gadget and exit from this area.
[5]   Open a NEW document and create a TEXT BOX of reasonable size.
[6]   Select the TEXT GADGET and select FONTS from the Menu.
[7]   Select Manager and DELETE ALL directories showing.
[8]   Select ADD and add your required directories now.
[9]   Select your Font and Size and hit the Default Button.
[10]  As an added precaution, set your required parameters for all the
  things you normally use in a document and then hit the DOCUMENT DEFAULTS GADGET to save your defaults to Disk.


   With a little bit of luck, your system will now respond to you as you wish
  it to.

   NOTE: The above works fine with a Hard Drive, a floppy system may need
  some fine tuning to achieve the same result, but the basics are the same.
