NEW UTILITY DISKS ADDED TO THE LIBRARY SINCE THE RELEASE OF MD22 *** Ed. Note: Due to editorial incompetence (!), last issue's Graphics_Disks list was listed as the Utilities_Disks list - here's the original list. And of course you can get your Catalogue disk updated at any time with the entire listings. Note also the new lower prices for PD disks - see "Other_PD_Disks" in this drawer for info, and also "Ordering" in the MD_INFO drawer for how to order disks from us. UT 235 THORPE FONTS Don Thorpe has put together this disk for easy use with word processors. It has a directory called fonts which contains lots of lettering styles, many in a variety of sizes. These fonts can be used by any word processor which is graphics-capable, like Prowrite (which incidentally is currently the most popular Amiga word processor). On the disk, there is a tutorial showing how to use the fonts on the disk. Non-bootable disk. UT 236 ACAR_INDEX In the words of the author, Chris Newell: This is a program I designed using a new multi- media program called HYPERBOOK. I have been purchasing The Australian Commodore and Amiga Review magazine each month since mid 1987 and every now and then I have to search through thousands of pages in an effort to try and find an article that I know is there somewhere - but where?? I decided to do something about making up some type of disk based index, having already used CanDo to make a similar index for Amiga Format (many, many hours - still unfinished!). Believe me! HYPERBOOK is a lot easier and quicker to use compared to CanDo (Though CanDo is a very powerful program) and I would advise anyone thinking about purchasing either of these to have a look at both first. The program will run on 512k machines (with a few hiccups!) but it prefers 1 meg or more. [Ed: I've checked the disk out, and it does all he says it will, and more... though of course I have my doubts about the object of all this attention!] Chris' address: 119 Berehaven Avenue, Thornlie WA 6108 UT 237 CanDo Utilities and Examples from Inovatronics BBS - Mark Ritchie compiled and sent in this little number full of CanDO stacks. It features SerialManager, Multi-Binder, eof, syscontrol, RexxWind, WordWrap, Video, CompTool, aapptcal, areacode, GoSubShow, rmbtrap, Key2C, mintest, cantrix, keydemo, gnrlmenu, alldir and lharcshell. Some interesting stuff; not all have icons. UT 238 Directory Opus II Demo Disk Bootable, runs best with 1meg but will survive with 512K. Doug Groat sent in this disk, which is a demo version of Jonathon Potter's commercial directory utility, including along with the main program Zerovirus III, Popdir 1.6, Popinfo 4.0 and World Time. UT 239 Fish Aquarium Hard Disk Update - LHArc archive of the Aquarium database, which will no longer fit onto one 880K floppy (although those of you with high density drives can still manage it). Otherwise, you need a hard disk or oodles of RAM. Thanks to Tony Day for this. UT 240 & 241 George Thompson Services Words! UT 246 (Crazy Joe's PD 372) HOME BUSINESS PACK DISK 2: BANK'N BANK'N is a bank account organiser with facilities to use expense codes, reports, queries and end-of-year analysis. OK, so it's a database that's been customised, but it's still very good. UT 247 (Crazy Joe's PD 373) HOME BUSINESS PACK DISK 3: MISCELLANEOUS Bit of a mish-mash of stuff on this one: GEOTIME is a clock program which uses pictorial representations of the Earth with shaded bits to depict night to show the time.
