If more disks are required, you will be prompted for them. Hexed.Lha: Hex is a file-based (as opposed to sector-based, like NewZAP) binary file editor. This means that the file is loaded in memory all at once, edited there and saved at the end. There are advantages and disadvantages in both approaches: sector-based editors heavy depend on device speed in operations like search; on the other hand, file based-ones take longer to display the file for the first time, 'cos they have to load it all. Moreover, file-based editors need more memory, and it may be impossible to load very large files. Hex uses the same text routines of MiniView80. This means it's got (one of) the fastest and smoothest screen rendering ever seen in a file editor. Smcopyguide.Lha: AmigaGuide doc for SmartCopy v1.3 Stock.Lha: Stock is a files storage tool useful and very handy. Stock takes your files on hard disk and creates an archive on disks optimizing allocation with Best Fit algorithm to fill up your available space. Then it acts as a file catalog tool, showing you a list of archived files with a 4 lines comment for each item and easy retrieve capability. It also stores files larger than the empty disk available space splitting files on many disks. Stock V1.0 works with ANY KickStart version, user friendly interface, it needs a few memory. Reorg31.Lha: ReOrg can be used to optimize (defragment) volumes in any floppy disk-like device, like trackdisk.device, ramdrive.device, hddisk.device and most third-party harddisks. This usually results in faster directories and can also result in faster file access, shorter boot times etc. In addition to optimizing a disk, ReOrg can also convert the filesystem of a disk during the optimization, e.g. from OFS to DC-FFS. Compared to most other disk optimizers ReOrg is quite fast and has many options to customize the optimization to your specific needs.[2.04+] Sd3V13.Lha: SuperDuper is an exciting, high-speed disk copier and formatter. Typical timings are 99s for a disk -to-disk verified copy, or 38s for a four disk non-verified format. When you mount it, you tell it which file systems it should use; afterwards, when a disk is inserted, MultiFileSystem will recognize it and pass the commands to the appropriate file system. This means that with a single device name, for example DF0:, you can access any conceivable file system! Chkcd10.Lha: I have written this little program because I own an external CD-ROM drive that is not always connected to my Amiga and I was bored of manually mounting CD0: when I want to use my CD-ROM. This program checks if a defined SCSI device is or not a CD-ROM drive returning a return code that you can use in a script. Muformat.Lha: Lets root keep control of format for all devices. Other users are allowed to format any device you specify in a muformat.allow file. Pfs95.Lha: The standard AmigaDos filesystem (OFS) is very slow. Commodore has tried to improve the performance of their filesystem a number of times. Workbench 2.0 added the fast filing system (FFS), and now, with Workbench 3.0, we have the fast filing system with directory caching (FFS-DC). This makes directoryscan faster but writing to disk and directory-operations like delete and rename are slower than ever. This made me decide to write a filesystem that does better. This version of the filesystem supports both floppies and small harddisk partitions. Nsaver21.Lha: NoiseSaver watches SCSI harddisks and notices when they are not use for a certain amount of time. It uses a SCSI command to stop their motor in such a case. Whenever the HD is accessed again, NoiseSaver automatically switches its motor on again. Mrn.Lha: What is MRN? Jukebox.Lha: JukeBox is a program to play compact digital audio discs by emulating a graphical user interface similar to common CD players.
