Dave Edwards comments in his letter about PPMore being inadequate to view his excellent reference doc's is no longer valid. Check PPMore on this disc ,Pressing the h key will give a summary of the commands available. Here are some of the advantages of PPMore : 1. The files can be stored on disc in crunched form. 2. Now uses ARP File requester to allow you to view other files ( L key ). 3. Has a search facility ( S key ). 4. You can print the page you are looking at ( shift+D). 5. You can print the whole file ( shift+P ) 6. Loads of other features ( H key for a full list ) NOTE THAT THIS AMIGANUTS VERSION IS NOT IN THE PUBLIC DOMAIN (mind you,neither is this ACC disk) Having 2 genam tasks running would waste too much memory so I advise you to use PPMore. Also, the latest version of the ARP Library is in the libs directory of this disc. You may be pleased to here that Amiganuts United,(aka Ray Burt-Frost ),have agreed to distribute this and future issues of the club disc,(COPYRIGHTED). (If you receive it via ANY other outlet,it's ILLEGAL,please inform AMIGANUTS) This means,of course,that I will need more material each month in order to keep the discs as interesting as possible,A special compacted edition of the first ACC discs is already available from Amiganuts for anyone interested. Thanks this month, go to Simon Knipe, for supplying the disc icon again and also the magic utility called SID. Until the arrival of SID I had been using DiskMaster, not any more. The program is shareware so if you would like a copy,contact Amiganuts,(enclosing £2.00 & ask for disk number 581),Thanks also to Dave Edwards and Steve Marshall who both sent source with explanatory text on setting up displays with multiple viewports,something I admit to have been struggaling with to say the least. Lastly Wizard of Pendle Europa for the logo. SID V1.6 IS AVAILABLE FROM AMIGANUTS UNITED....DISK NUMBER 582 On last months disc was a replay routine for GMC modules, but no module to test it with. A suitable module is available on this disc ( supplied by Simon Knipe as was the replay routine ). The module will decrunch into the Modules directory of the source disc. Unfortunately Mike Cross's tutorial had not arrived in time for this months disc. As a token offering I have included a tutorial on programming the Copper. This only covers the very basics. I'd like to raise some points about the source on this months disc. Firstly, there are two examples of displaying multiple viewports in one display. Both use a different approach. These both show the 'correct' way to display custom screens using graphics primatives ( I read that in a big book ) and should have no problems running on any of the Amiga family. Next is an intro by Mark Flemans, this uses a very small fragment of code to scroll a section of the display up ( even if there is a little bug in there ). Lastly take a look at Steve Marshalls ARP Filerequester program. This shows how to make a program look more profesional using this tidy little requester.
