Wellcome to play some billiard! This is the second version of Billiard Games, but I don't want to call it version 1.0 yet, because there are still some things missing, like sounds and NTSC-support. Version 1.0 will be ready in the end of this summer (1993), but what will be in it, will depend on how many of you will register and what you hope it to have. From version 0.9 I have fixed one bug in ball behaviour and added user defineable flipkey to flip between Workbench and game. Now you can also save preferences (player names and so on) to disk. Just use menus. I also changed the way the stick is moved. Now you can move it rapidly by pressing one or more of controlkeys (shift/amiga/ctrl/alt). Billiard Games is shareware. Mainly because I'm a greedy b*stard, but partly also, because I want to see, if there is enough interest, that I can go on programming shareware. Like yours, my time is money, especially during summertime, when I should work to save some pennies for the winter. If you find Billiard Games interesting enough to register, just send me amount of 4£ or 10 Deutchmarks or 7$ or 30 Fmk. If you want to send corresponding amount (7$) of some other currency, it's OK, as long as there is NO COINS and that currency is freely changeable. All future shareware versions will have same codewords as this one does. You can send your registration fee to: Mikko Mäkelä Palovartijantie 17 F 69 00750 Helsinki Finland Remember to tell your address! Note that I will only send you paper with codewords, not any disks. This way it's cheaper to me and you, and I think, that this is the best way to make future updates playable to you, if you register. Please register, if you want to see Billiard Games getting better and better. Because I'm doing this alone, you CAN make a difference. Also, when you register, you can tell me what you would like game to have and I'll try to add it, if I just can. Playing Billiard Games should be rather simply. Just use joystick or cursor keys to move stick and fire button/space bar/cursor down to strike. As long as you press, the power of strike will increase, until you stop pressing or max. power is reached. Currently there is two games (with stripped rules): Basic Pool and Eight-Ball. I'm planning to add at least one game, I'm just not sure which yet... In Basic Pool you'll goal is just to pocket firstly 8 red balls. In Eight-Ball, the first ball pocketed determines, which player will have yellow and which player will have red balls. Then your goal is to pocket all your balls, and AFTER that the black one. In both games player may continue his turn if he manages to pocket one or more of his "plusballs", but no other balls. Thanks for reading, have fun! Mikko Mäkelä - internet: mmmakela@cc.helsinki.fi
