Keep those cards and letters coming. Jim Dionne President Commodore Business Machines, Inc. Question is : "Why should I waste my postage stamp on a Company that WASTED a GREAT COMPUTER?" Commodore you have not lived up to both the customer and the public. I (personally) feel you have let IBM show off there "TOYS" like the PS1. "Easy to Install, Set up and Learn!" When Amiga is pulled from the box, plugged in the wall and BAM! Instant Computer, COMPLETE SYSTEM and all.. With a IBM, you purchase a "Shell" as a computer and continue to open the wallet to make SOUND, JOYSTICKS, GRAPHICS etc. Sure you would like the Amiga users to send in there ideas. So you can use them to show off the system. You will use there ideas and make it show the system's ability to do things FASTER AND BETTER THAN THE IBM! But who will see these ideas ??? I want the people that will see these ideas. They will be filed and forgot, FILED AND FORGOT! JUST LIKE THE AMIGA 500 OWNER ........ FILED AND FORGOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Nintendo Company started out by running ads at the right time to show the product they have and show it well. They found a small idea like "MARIO" and took it to the limit. People like "being with the crowd," and Mario is a way of relating to a game system. The Super Nintendo only runs on 3.5mhz, the 500 runs at 7mhz. The Nintendo Company has made the new Super Nintendo visible to every single human being in the U.S. that has a Television set. What did you do the the AMIGA ??? Why would you hide it in a TIME mag, or show it on PREVIEW GUIDE ?? Who reads Time or watches Preview Guide commericals. Commodore, figure this, Advertising in a free marketplace such as the USA could have made your computer the STANDARD business and home computer. At one time in my life I had 4 different Computer Magazines every month to read and enjoy. I remember clearly, the long articles about the amount of Money they have Set aside to Market the Amiga. They told about "shake ups" in the marketing department and new people were always stepping in to run Commodore Marketing. As I read these I thought, "Good now they will advertise it right." NO, I never seen half the ideas that were suppost to step up production. Does Commodore feel they have made a effort to show off the product they have? I hope they feel good. Because if it was my Company, I would feel as if IBM ran away with most of the Money that could have been in Commodore's Pocket!! Even the Amiga 500 is a very powerful machine and could be expanded beyond even what you tought. I heard of your ideas with putting Amiga 500's in Sears stores & other department stores. I think might have been a good idea. Again without proper marketing you can not sell people something that they do not have any idea what it is. If a family goes to a computer store and they have a Commodore Amiga and a IBM sitting right next to each other, Which system would the family pick? My guess would be the one that is very familiar to them. The IBM would have numerous PAMPHLETS and things to "Take with you" all over the display. Commodore has a computer, just sitting there. I have seen your new line of Amiga Computers. I think the idea of dropping the OLDER Amiga Format is really dishearting. I do not understand why you would build a new "Amiga" that would not be 100% compatible with the older software. Even software that was programmed with Commodore's Specs for programming CRASHES! A couple years ago I purchased a Amiga 2500/030. It ran me around $3000. This machine sure turned my computing around. After the purchase, I figured that I would just buy boards to upgrade my Amiga. I thought I would never have open the wallet again for another Amiga. I am very happy with my 2500 and very happy with what Commodore has done with the machine. I would like to know why you do not use the EXPANSION SLOTS built into the Amiga 2500 to transfer the system into a 1200 or 4000? Why no Board with the New Amiga Technology & AGA Chips installed?" Why couldn't you make so you could "PICK IT" from the Accelator menu ?? I would buy this board at a instant!! It seems to me you could install a 68030 and 68883 chips on a board and have it run fine. So I should throw my Amiga 2500 in the DUMPSTER?? And then run out a buy a whole new computer, bring it home only to find out that NOT A SINGLE PIECE OF MY PURCHASED SOFTWARE WORKS!! Sure I am going to buy another Word Processor so that it will work with my 1200 or 4000. I would rather sell my New Amiga First! The Toaster is very powerful, and I have heard it is not compatible with the NEW 1200 & 4000 Amigas.. When you released the CDTV, I thought it was a very powerful tool for fun and education. I am still waiting for the plug in CARD and CD DRIVE for my 5 1/4 BAY! Why can't you people make these things? Don't you want the MONEY? Don't you want your customers to push there machine to the limit? Don't you want more people to see your machines and purchase one? Why don't I see a Amiga commercial before a IBM one? Why when I tell my friends what computer I have they call it a "omega?" Why do you seem to keep the machine in a "overseas" market, when here in the U.S. is were the money is? You talk a good game and show up at the right places like CEBIT. Your upgrades to the "old standard" Amiga's chips and DOS have been everything the Amiga owner (IF YOU CAN FIND ONE) could ask for. Workbench 2.1 is very straight forward and it very easy to use with the addition of Cross Dos. The Super Agnus is the single GREATEST THING SINCE THE AMIGA SHOWED UP! The ablity to "flip" into PAL to watch those touchy Euro Demos is AWESOME! I would like to personally Thank You for the Commodore 64! Very powerful computer. I think everyone should have a chance to learn the 64...... These are just my thoughts.. Thanks for your time... <<< Damage Inc. / G.O.D. >>>
