                        *      Operator Window  V1.7    *
                        *********************************

What is it ?
------------
Operator Window is a simple door that replace the standard Page Operator
command. When started , the door will ask the user for a short message
(max 60 chars) to send. When the user finish the message, a window will
open on Workbench screen (which is pulled to front). The window contains the
name of the user paging, the node , the message and 13 gadgets. When the
windows pops up you can do several things:

1) If you do nothing, the window will remain open for a few seconds and then
closes telling the user you are not around (Workbench screen is then
   pushed to back).

2) Pressing one of the 13 gadgets, a text (associated with the gadget)
will be outputted to the user. The window is closed a Workbench screen is
   pushed to back.

4) If you are annoyed by the Window but don't want the user to see that you
are around, just close the window with it's close gadget. The user will
see the paging as if you were not around. 0h0h0h0h

If the window cannot be opened, sysop will be prompted by flashing screens.

Operator Window pages accordingly to your chat availability (F7 toggling) and
user level (from level 100 on a user can always page).
It also writes on the callerslog that you have been paged in this format:

{TAB}Operator Paged at (04:35:19)
{TAB}MESSAGE: <USER MESSAGE>

Pressing only RETURN when prompted for the message, quits from Operator Window
without paging and writing on callerslog.

If the sysop press F10 while the user is editing, Opeator Window will abort
saying 'Operation aborted by sysop.'

2 versions are provided in this archive:

-OpWin.std.exe which is the standard version , all the texts are
compiled in it and are directly sent to Amiexpress. (Faster).

-OpWin.cfg.exe which is configurable , all the text reside in text files.
 (Slower).

What I need ?
-------------
You just need Amiexpress registered Version 1.1w and a Amiga 8)

How do I install it ?
------------------
To install OpWin.std.exe simply place it where you want, rename it as you want
and edit correctly your customcommands (See Amiexpress docs for this).
To install OpWin.cfg.exe do the same thing, but the text files MUST be in

DOORS:OpWin/

Text files are:
DOORS:OpWin/OWabort.txt -> Text outputted when user aborts pressing only
                              RETURN.
DOORS:OpWin/OWnosysop.txt -> Text outputted when sysop is not avilable for
                              chatting.
DOORS:OpWin/OWpaged.txt -> Text outputted when sysop has been paged and
                              didn't answered you.
DOORS:OpWin/OWprompt.txt -> Text outputted when user is requested to enter
message. Sorry but for this release it is not
allowed to place the local time where you want.
DOORS:OpWin/OWreply.txt0   ->
..                         -> Texts for gadgets.
..                         ->
DOORS:OpWin/OWreply.txt12  ->

Sample texts are included as examples. (Note the pathname board/doors/opwin is
just an example, my system has DOORS: assigned to board/doors).

Remember this is a 'X' type door. People using versions previous to 1.4 can
delete the script and the pagewin file.

Future
------
Future versions will be able to pop up directly Amiexpress and enter into chat
from Operator Window. I'm thinking about writing programs compatible only with
OS 2.04. Everyone wanting a serious system should install it. Kids that use
Amiga only for games can remain with 1.3 or better buy an MS-DOS compatible 8-)

Bugs
----
-The program was developed on a Amiga 3000 25 Mhz OS 2.04, however it
should work also on 68000 1.3 kickstart based machines.
-Zapping into prohibited areas can freeze and crush the whole system.
 Well known lamers are warned.
-If you find a bug in this program please report it to me on one of these
Italian Boards: Temple of Destruction , Altair of Sacrifice , Infinite Dreams,
Asylum , Strange Land with the alias ALZHEIMER.

Updates
-------
V1.7	-Fixed a bug that would wrote ENV:STATS@x in callerslog if user
input has maximum lenght (Prompt buffer was too small 8)
	 Thanx to Natas/Divina for reporting.
-Fixed a bug that crushed the system if opwin was used on a 68000
machine. This was due to a dos structure at an odd address , sorry
for that but I moved the stucture in the source and didn't noticed
	 it was not aligned :-(
	 Thanx to Bluelight for reporting.
-IMPORTANT: I found out that user name highlighting works only with
ß testing versions of Amiexpress. It doesn't work with V1.1x
I'm sorry but you have to wait for a new Amiexpress version to have
	 this feature working :-)

V1.6	-No more opens on front screen , but on Workbench screen (upper left
edge). If WorkBench screen has been closed , the sysop will be
prompted only by the screen flashing. (See above docs)
This was changed because opening a window on a foreign screen
was not safe if the foreign program decided to close the screen
while the window was open on it (Blanker is the most annoying
	 example of what I mean).
-Now ENV:STATS@x is changed to action ENV_REQ_CHAT (19) so other
doors can recognize that someone is requesting chat.
-Output to callerslog it's done through the new BB_CALLERSLOG command
in order to mantain upward compability.
-If the sysop doesn't give a response , user name will be highlighted
just as it is done with the standard pager. (This is available only
	 with newer releases of Amiexpress!).
-Now the code uses functions of my Amix.obj linkable to communicate
with Amiexpress (Amix.obj will be soon released).
_Output style was changed. Now Natas version become the standard one.
-Finally all docs has been restyled , to be less than 80 columns.
Sorry about this but previous docs were edited in full overscan.

V1.5	-Fixed F10/LOSS OF CARRIER bug. Now exit gently.
-Fixed output on callerslog. Now it is:
	 {TAB}Operator Paged at (04:35:19)
	 {TAB}MESSAGE: <USER MESSAGE>
This way you have a nice output using '2' command.
-Fixed user level checking (now really overrides from 250 on).
-Now 13 gadgets are available for immediate text outputting.
-Window size changed. Now opens a 285x195 in the middle of the screen.
-Message reported to sysop splitted in 2 lines.
-Maximum input chars now 60, this is fora better callerslog output.
-No more serious version. No one liked it.
-2 version: one has all messages in it and outputs faster. The second
one is a bit slower but allow to use custom texts.
-Due to popular request the paging delay has increased so the window
	 remains open for more time.
-Custom versions for Natas,Shark,Bluelight and Axe that will have their
BBS formatted in a few days 8-))))))

V1.4	-Completely rewritten. Now works as an X door.
-No more arexx stuffs needed, now just 1 executable.
-Faster, all coding in 100% 68000 Assembler.
-Now checks Sysop's availability to chat. If not available, doesn't
open the window and exit immediately.
	-Added gadget for notifing user.
-Input chars are now 70 , who cares if the operator is on a low-res
	 screen ?
-2 versions: 1 serious and one funny.
	-New docs 8)
-Added 2 new commands: FormatTempleOfDestruction() and
	 AsylumRandmoAccountEditing() 8-))

V1.3	-Changing in style and some arexx bugs fixed.

V1.2a	-Bluelight's personal restiling & bug fixing.

V1.2	-Changing in style and some arexx bugs fixed.

V1.1	-Changed style.
	-Added paging points.
-Fixed a bug that counted backspaces as input characters.
-Now the routine that writes in the callerslog has been transferred in
the arexx script , so that the sysop can change the output to its
personal taste. By default it writes this in the callerslog:
	 {TAB}Operator Paged at (04:35:19) <USER MESSAGE>
so previous utilities that fetched datas from the callerslog doesn't
	 crush on it.
-This way the command PageWin becomes a more general proggie
that opens a window on the current front screen with passed messages.
The Syntax is: PageWin <string1> <string2>
string1 must not contain spaces while string2 accept spaces.
(If string1 contains a space , the string will be cut and what comes
after the space will be part of string2).
-Due to a Bluelight complaint now if you arrive at the 50th character
(while inserting the text) it will not assume that the input is
finished. It waits for you to pres the "'" key.

V1.0	The first Arexx+excutable version 8)
