Since the manual for the Copyist Professional for the Amiga
            was completed, several changes have been made to the
            program. Most are minor, but there are a few major changes.
            The most important is the completion of the HP LaserJet
            driver, and the addition of a driver for the HP DeskJet.
            These drivers are discussed in the file HP.DOC on the Aux-
            illiary programs disk, and the remaining changes are dis-
            cussed below.
            
            * The Configuration Window now displays another directory,
            called the program directory. When you start the Copyist
            the program will first look in the current directory for
            any necessary files (such as ME.CFG or the Usrfonts.usr file),
            and if the files are not found, the program directory will
            be searched. The Copyist program saves the ME.CFG file in
            the current directory. If you copy the Copyist program to
            your hard disk, you may wish to copy ME.CFG and Usrfonts.usr
            so that they may be loaded from the current directory. If
            you copy the Font_Editor to your hard disk, you should
            copy all three Usrfonts files as well since the Font_Editor
            is used to edit all of them.
            
            * The Home key is not found on the Amiga! We have
            substituted the Shift-Delete key combination for the Home
            key where it is mentioned in the manual (pages 10, 28, 29,
            and 54). Shift-Delete will move the edit cursor to the top
            of the current page, or to the top of the help screen. The
            Ctrl-Home key combination is similarly available by typing
            Ctrl-Shift-Delete.  Also note that the right Alt key func-
            tions as the INSERT key.
            
            * The screen colors are saved in the file ME.CFG. If you
            wish to save the colors after changing them, you must select
            Configure from the Other menu, and then click on Save.
            
            * If the Copyist crashes when you attempt to run it from
            CLI, the stack may be too small. The Copyist requires 10000
            bytes of stack space, so type STACK 10000 at the CLI prompt
            before running the Copyist.
            
            * The Font Editor program is slightly different. Clicking or
            holding the left mouse button draws pixels, and the right
            button erases pixels.
            
            * When saving macros to disk, the asterisk key does not
            create a string of question marks for the file name.
            However, we still recommend that you avoid using wildcard
            keys (# ? *) in filenames, since these may conflict with
            disk commands. Remember that you cannot easily identify and
            copy macros with non-alphanumeric names, so you should avoid
            creating such macros if you can.
            
            * The program attempts to load and save macros from a
            directory called "Macros".  Such a directory is provided
            for you on the main program disk.  Should this directory
            not be found, the current directory will be used.  If you
            install the Copyist onto a hard disk, you should create
            a Macros directory so that your Copyist directory doesn't
            get cluttered with macros.

            * Another thing about macros.  The ones we provide were
            designed to run in interlace mode (400 lines).  If you
            use some of them in hi-res (200 lines) they will try to
            perform operations below the bottom of the screen and
            become garbled.

            * If you change the user fonts, the help file, or the
            configuration file, you should copy them to all of your
            Copyist disks that contain programs or to your hard disk.
            This way, you can run any of the programs that make up the
            Copyist Professional from any disk, without worrying about
            accidentally using an outdated file.  For example, if you
            use the Font_Editor to customize the Usrfonts.eps file,
            make sure to copy the file to the directory where you keep
            your printer drivers.

            * There are two printers drivers that direct their output
            to the Amiga's standard printer device as defined in your
            preferences.  They are called "Amiga_Printer_Driver" and
            "Amiga_PD2".  The second one builds a very large bitmap
            in memory which it sends to the printer device.  If your
            system does not have enough memory for it to run, it will
            simply exit without a word. The other program provides the
            same functionality using much less memory by printing in
            small strips.


            SOME CORRECTIONS TO MANUAL TEXT:

            * Disregard the warning "CONFIGURING THE COPYIST IS NOT AN
            OPTIONAL STEP!".  This is a relic.  The only important
            option in the configuration window is the work directory
            which is initially set to RAM:.  This is where the Copyist
            will store numerous internal work files.  If you're short
            on ram, you can substitute a directory on disk.

            * When the manual tells you to place the key disk "in drive
            df0:" it means to say "in any drive".

            * The Other menu contains the selections "Paste" and "Help...".
