POWER PACKER PROFESSIONAL GETTING STARTED Please spend a few minutes reading this now and avoid frustration later. The POWERPACKER disk is a bootable disk. Turn on your Amiga and at the Workbench prompt, insert the POWERPACKER disk. A title screen image appears. To escape it, click the left mouse button. Be patient. A brief message appears and then the MAIN MENU screen appears. It has entries for the POWERPACKER program, as well as the utilities PPMORE, PPSHOW and PPTYPE. Run any of these programs by clicking the left mouse button with the pointer over its title. The POWERPACKER program begins with a large message square set over the program screen. To get into the program, click the left mouse button with the pointer anywhere within the square. At the bottom of the MAIN MENU is an entry: Information Menu. Click on it to get at a menu with documentation of the programs on the disk. READ THE DOCUMENTATIONS ON HOW PROGRAMS WORK! There is no other way to truly learn the many features of POWERPACKER and its utilities. AN INVISIBLE EXTRA This disk contains a NEW, distributable utility called PPANIM, which plays crunched animation files. The program and documentation are not part of the regular menu system, but there is an easy way to reach them: -- With the MAIN MENU showing, put the mouse pointer at the top of the screen and click the right mouse button. Click off the POWER UTILITIES title bar, that is, put the mouse pointer in the target box at left of the bar and click the left mouse button. This produces a CLI prompt at the bottom of the screen. -- To read the docs for PPANIM, type: ppmore/ppmore ppanim/ppanim.doc -- To see the animation, at the prompt type: ppanim/ppanim ppanim/jd.anim.pp . . . and click right mouse button to escape the repeating animation. TO SERVE YOU BETTER This disk is serialized, and its serial number is stamped in red ink on the disk label. If you purchased this disk through JUMPDISK, then your name and address are already on our warranty list. If you purchased this product through a retailer or other authorized vendor, you should immediately return the warranty card so we can place your name on the warranty list. JUMPDISK, authorized North American publisher of POWERPACKER, will without charge repair or replace defective POWERPACKER disks for a period of one year after purchase, so long as the purchaser has returned the registration card to be placed on the warranty list.
