Black Legend A new company, dedicated to publishing Amiga games written by demo coders. 35 games are in development, by ex-demo members from Alcatraz, Scoopex, Static Bytes, Spaceballs, Fraxxion and others. Bullfrog They are heavily into AGA games. A recent magazine showed Syndicate running on an A1200- Very nice high-res graphics. Planned releases for this year are Syndicate (June), Pip, Creation, and one other, all dual-format. An AGA specific fractal-landscape demo, mouse controlled, looked absolutely stunning. A flight sim using this routine would be amazing! Many more projects are top secret, as Bullfrog don't want their unique ideas poached by other people. Krisalis Arabian Nights AGA/ECS Soccer Kid AGA/ECS Mindscape Also one of the first on the AGA bandwagon. Simlife is out imminently on the AGA machines, to be followed by Sim Farm and Sim City 2000. Very well converted, Sim Life runs in 256 colours, 640*480, and looks very Mac-like. Captive 2 should support AGA machines, and looks quite impressive. Legends 2, Son Of The Empire, looks impressive too, and later in the year the Gameboy's Alfred Chicken will make his Amiga appearance. An internal memo gave Wing Commander 2 and Ultima Underworld as coming but little has been heard since. Team 17 Going wholly to AGA games, Overdrive will be their last OCS game. With three separate teams working on a number of games, expect increasing numbers of games from the arcade masters. Team 17 plan to release Body Blows enhanced for the AGA machines. Coming on 8 disks, it will be hard-disk installable. Alien Breed 2 and Project X2 are the next releases, both will really make the AGA chips work with amazing graphical effects. X2 will have multidirectional scrolling, and T17 are working on a sprite playfield for very fast scrolling. Millennium Expect to see James Pond- AGA and Robocod- AGA very soon, with new levels, better graphics and sound. Following that for the AGA machines are Operation Starfi5h (JP3), Diggers, Beastball, Dino-Worlds. Non AGA releases include Flags, Battletoads and Wing Commander mission disks. Interplay (UK) The Lost Vikings is the hit SNES platform puzzle game. Other releases due soon are Castles II, Star Trek (AGA and OCS) and Buzz Aldrins Race Into Space. DID Recently re-signed to Ocean for a 6 product contract, for a 7 figure sum! Oddysey is the followup to the disappointing Epic, with jaw-dropping textured polygon graphics and a non-linear design, with a typical game involving 80 missions. Inferno is a hard-edged modern flight sim with realistic graphics and large play area (1/40th of the world!). With a choice of the F117, the EFA and the F-22, DID claim that the games flight dynamics have been developed in consultation with a top aeronautical engineer from Princeton University. Both are likely to be AGA only, as will future DID releases. Gremlin Zool 2 is set to headline Commodores Marketing strategy for this Autumn. It should debut on the AGA machines, and a CD version is planned. Also planned for CD release is the long-awaited Litil Divil. 8 more Amiga releases are scheduled for this year. Psygnosis The Second Samurai, now two player, is a good-looking beat`em up/arcade adventure with strong console influences. Prime Mover is a motorbike racing game. Hired Guns is a neat RPG. Walker is a mad shoot'em up from Lemmings makers DMA. Dracula and Microcosm are impressive CDTV games. Two A1200-only releases are expected- one is a graphic adventure. Armour-Geddon 2 is the delayed sequel to the 3D combat sim. Creepers is aplatform puzzle game. Ocean With a commitment that all new releases will be dual-format, Ocean have a lot of games lined up- Universal Monsters, FA Premier League, International Open Golf Championship (debuting on the A1200) Burning Rubber, Jurassic Park and Ryder Cup Golf, with Lobo, based on the comic character, being their first A1200 only product. Microprose The AGA version of Civilisation is ready for release at the Amiga Format show in London, the 7th of May. Gunship 2000 should also be finished any day now. Ancient Art of War in the Skies is a strategy/action game with more than 40 campaigns set during the First World War. ATAC is a flight sim with a stategic element. Dogfight is a pure air-to-air combat sim, with twelve different aircraft from Sopwith Camels to F-16's. Legacy is a 3D roleplaying game by Magnetic Scrolls, while more traditional Microprose fare includes F-117A, Sub War 2050 and Fields Of Action. Ubisoft Next from Hudsonsoft (Dynablaster and BC Kid) is Yo! Joe!, an excellent platform game. Virgin Virgin are moving into the big league with the recent poaching of Goal! from Anco, surely set to be the biggest game since, ooh, Kick Off 2 probably. They are involved in talks with Sega and Acclaim to convert the best Genesis cartridges to the Amiga. More importantly, Lands O' Lore, by Westwood Studios, is soon to be converted for AGA Amigas, while Dune II is almost finished. Meanwhile, Revolution Software are wriing the excellent Graphic adventure Beneath The Steel Sky for AGA and ECS, and tdder, a game which looks like Lemmings crossed with Paintball and which could be very big indeed. System 3 Not much Amiga stuff planned, but Putty 2 will be available for AGA machines as well as OCS. Renegade Andrew Braybrook has nearly finished Uridium 2, likely to be the best shoot'em up for years. Ruff N' Tumble is a graphically impressive platform romp. An AGA Chaos Engine is currently being considered. Digital Integration Tornado is finally complete, after more than 2 years in development. Expect to see this linkuppable, 54-mission flight Sim in June. Konami Featuring two contenders for most delayed game, Batman Returns could be good but Frontier (if it ever arrives) looks stunning. Expect both to be delayed further, though. Core Design Darkmere is a huge isometric adventure. Bubba N' Stix is a horizontally scrolling puzzle game, where Bubba uses his friendly alien stick to beat enemies over the head, use as a lever, snooker cue, javelin, baseball bat and bridge in his efforts to get back to Earth. Blastar is a multi-directional shoot'em up with a nifty rotating screen scroll. Wonder Dog is a conversion of the lush Mega CD game. Curse Of Enchantia II (Project Rolf) will be available for both OCS and AGA. Adventuresoft Simon The Sorceror is a graphic adventure to rival any LucasArts game, with excellent graphics and the definite possibility of an AGA version. Electronic Arts After the success of previous EA Genesis/Megadrive conversions, EA Ice Hockey is set for Amiga release. Space Hulk, based on the Games Workshop boardgame, is an Aliens-like Space RPG. Lankhor One of the most atmospheric adventures yet, Black Sect is set in the Yorkshire Moors. Later on, expect Vroom II, followup to one of the best racing games of all time. Euphoria Productions Disposible Hero is a shootem up with mouth-watering gigeresque 32 colour graphics that puts even Project X to shame. Impressions When Two Worlds War is a strategic simulation of interplanetary conflict. Also due soon are Rules Of Engagement 2 and The Blue And The Grey, a war game set during the American Civil War. Empire Software War In The Gulf is the third tank sim in the Team Yankee series. Cyberspace is a 3D virtual reality experience with 1.5 million inhabitants in a city of more than a million rooms. Flashback will be soon released, and speculation is rife that the 256 colour PC graphics may find their way into an AGA version of this classic game. Rumour suggests that Legends of Valour and Streetfighter 2 might reappear as AGA games. Digital Illusions Hardcore is a shoot'em up with two distinct sections. Ben E Factor is a Lemmings-inspired puzzle game. Malfunction is an overhead Chaos Engine/Alien Breed style game. Pinball Illusions is the last Pinball game from DI. Silmarils Transartica will be out for AGA machines soon. Ishar 2 is a dual AGA/OCS release, and is the sequel to the popular (in France anyway) RPG Ishar. Thalion Ambermoon is an RPG with fast texture mapping, and is the sequel to Amberstar. No Second Prize 2 is in development and should have better graphics and more in-depth gameplay. Lionheart 2 is on, but for AGA only. Other games include a helicopter sim using the NSP game engine. ICE Total Carnage (Smash TV 2) Microids Genesia is a Populous-type game.
