AMAX is the First Macintosh emulator written for the Amiga.
    
AMAX is a software/hardware combination that allows Mac   
software to run on a Amiga.

The Emulator will run on ALL Amigas, Emulating a Macintosh PLUS, so only
Two Colours can be used on screen at any one time.

The hardware adaptor also allows a Mac 800K disk drive to 
be connected as well as passing through the Amiga disk    
port, though it sadly cannot be used in Amiga Mode.

The answer to this not directly, only through supplied transfer
software, That will allow you to transfer files in both  
directions.

There is no hard drive support in the first release of A MAX.

The First Release of A MAX cannot connect to the AppleTalk Network System,
The next release of A MAX will probably support this.

A MAX'S Compatibility is GOOD we have found to be very good with   
most progs Word 3.0, Excel, HyperCard, PageMaker,       
MacPaint, MacWrite and all system versions <And finders>  
run Perfectly OK.

AMAX runs a little faster than a Mac PLUS. Just a regular A2000 with
2-meg card. Any mem is now supported as well.

How compatible are we?  Could i run a mac arcade game?
is the amy mouse supported?

We have run Megaroids, Loderunner Without problems, Often the Copy
Protection on disks causes problems with A MAX, YES! The Amigas Mouse
Emulates the macintosh mouse, So no problems there!

Can A max read mac format disks with no extra disk drives?

No, We can read only 34% of a Mac disk in an Amiga drive, because of the
multispeed format that the Mac uses our cartridge has a connector for an
800K mac drive which gives full disk compatability. Read ,Writing & Formating
then presents no compatibility problems. Mac System Disks can be booted from
an Amiga drive without problems, although copy files to & from disks with
Amiga drives causes frequent Read/Write Errors.

Central Coast has a program Called MAC-2-DOS Which allows the amiga to
Read & Write Mac Disk with 100% Compatibility! (Only for file Transfers!)

USING A-MAX

Once A-Max has loaded, select your options from the iconified screen, then
click on the GO AMAX Icon. Once the screen has appeared, insert your MAC
Boot Disk Into your Amiga drive! (Any One of them!)

NOTE: If you haven't got a Mac Boot Disk, Copy or make one up at work (Like
Me!), or you can obtain one from Apple themselves or from a computer
Dealer in your area!

Now, A Max will load you boot disk, & in a few second the mac operating
System (The Finder) is visible!

NOTE: The right button on the mouse is disabled as a macintosh has only one
button on it's mouse!

At the top of the screen you will see a small apple on the left hand side of
the screen, followed by the words: FILE, EDIT, VIEW, & SPECIAL.

To look at a menu, move the mouse pointer up to the word of your choice or
move it to the apple then hold down the left mouse button.

Whilst holding down the mouse button, mouse the pointer down to the menu
option of your choise then release the mouse button to execute.

NOTE: In the EDIT menu the "clipboard" is for tempory storage of cut &
pasted text for you wordprocessor etc.

NOTE: When you wish to quit the emulator use the command "SHUTDOWN" in the
SPECIAL menu to complete all outstanding disk access.
