If you hold down the button while driving, the siren will sound, and the other cars will move out of the way. Now you can drive at full speed without crashing. 2. Push the firebutton and up while the music is playing and you will be able to select any of the 16 missions. 3. Enter "ALF" on the high score table for infinite demerits. --- Apprentice --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Press the TAB key at the title screen and enter the following passwords to skip to a corresponding level. WIZARD, GUILD, SPELLS, ARCANE, DRUID, FAERIE. --- Archipelagos --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Play the first two levels of the game, hit return, and enter "8421". Hit return again, and now you can chose any Archipelago. --- Arkanoid --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 1. For an extra 33 levels, press F3 and F4 for a one or two player game. 2. Start the game as usual, and while playing the game, you can access the cheat mode by doing the following: (Amiga only) Pause the game with the Space Bar. Now type "DSIMAGIC" (do not hit return) and press Space to unpause the game. A yellow capsule, "DS" will fall. Catch it. Now the following keys will make the respective capsules fall at any time. To become indestructable, gain infinite money and fuel, and perform the following instructions. Complete the first attack level, and when the shields/weapons screen appears, move the cursor to the top left corner of the screen. This will place it in the shields box. Press the joystick button while hitting the "+" key on the keypad. The screen will flash, indicating that the cheat mode has been activated. From now on, F1 will turn off your enemies. F6 will replenish your fuel supply, and 1 - 0 on the keyboard will allow you to select you weapon. If the screen does NOT flash, keep pressing fire and hitting "+" simultaneously. Next, transfer all the energy to the weapons. Shields can still be drained by hits and collisions, but once they are depleted, the ship cannot be destroyed. 2. To win the game, simply choose the last planet as the destination. Once you enter the spaceport, there will be a short animation showing your ship leaving the galaxy. --- Baal --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^ 1. During the load push the right button for infinite lives as the screen blanks. 2. In the second cavern there is a force field that seems impossible to get rid of. To get the time machine chunk beyond it, simply fall off the right side of the phone booth platform above. 3. Type "LOVEBUNDLE" as your name on the high score chart to access the games built in trainer mode. Here are all the coordinates of all the jetpack platforms, in the order you should go to them to finish the game. X/Y, X being width and Y being height: Level 1: 31/16 (cartridge 2), 02/25, 52/30 (cartridge 3), 51/00, 24/38, 62/13, 02/50, 64/49, 33/58 (exit to level 2). The game will reset and you'll have infinite lives. --- Back to the Future III --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Type in the following during the stories before the level begins, for infinite lives. Level 1: ROTTON CHEAT Level 2: LOUSY CHEAT Level 3: LOW DOWN CHEAT --- Bad Dudes (Dragon Ninja) --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Type "TERRIFIC" during the game. Pressing "L" now skips levels and F3 gives infinite lives. --- Bane of the Cosmic Forge (Wizardry VI) --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 1. The password to enter the door in the southeast tower of the 1st level is "SNOOPCHERI". Use the ROTTEN CHEESE on the MOUSEHOLE. 2. Here is some small help for playing the game successfully: When you create your characters, it may be a good idea to make all of them Dracons. This is unconfirmed, but unless you have at least one of this fire breathing race, you won't survive the game. Use a good mix of the classes, try to make each spell class and a good thief that is at full strength. Get a good enough thief so that you won't need a fighter. Keep rolling until you get the best character possible. Be sure to make at least one character female, because there are places in the game where this is necessary. Diversify your skills. Have each character specialize in a few skills relating to his class. Don't worry about developing weapon skills, you have no use for them if you created your party correctly. In fights, early in the game, use Dracon's breath attack. Just be careful not to overextend yourself. Rest after each encounter, backing up your hard work. Always search the area after a combat. Search each square you step in. As well, search facing all four directions, as many things can only be found this way. Thieves are not always true. If you find a lock and have your thief open it, always guess it is poison unless you are sure or have tried it before. It is better to suffer something else than to die, by getting this wrong. Don't bash doors early in the game! Jammed doors do you no good, as you might never be able to open them again. The same thing applies to picking locks. Wait until you get a castor capable of conjuring "Knock Knock" with at least 18 points (preferably 24) and do it this way. Once you know that there are secret panels or buttons, keep walking past them until you discover them. You can find them by looking at the maps and know where they are, sometimes it takes awhile to sense them. --- Barbarian (Palace) --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ On the final level when you confront Drax, the easiest way to defeat him is down roll into him, kick him, and repeat until he is dead. --- Barbarian (Psygnosis) --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ (Amiga/Atari ST) 1. During the game, type "04-08-59". The screen should turn grey. If so, you are now invulnerable and have unlimited lives. You can fall down pits without losing a life, however falling down the last pit with the dragon will end the game. 2. To kill the final Wizard, you must have a shield. When his shot comes at you, use the defense icon, and it will fly back at him. To make your timing easier, use "D" (Defend) on the keyboard. 3. If you are fighting an enemy, or you are threatened by obstacles, use the "P"ickup icon. Attackers will either pass you by or turn around and attack you again. --- Barbarian II (Palace) --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Here is a complete solution for the game. Level 1: L, L, Right 7 times, L, R, L, Enter Cave, R Level 2: R, U, L, U, L, L, R, Left 3 times, U, L Level 3: U, R, R, U, L, R, U, R, L, L, U, L, L, U, U, R, R, L, L, U Level 4: Hit the fireballs, then try to leap across. Several low chops will destroy it. Next is the Pit Demon; when he reaches out, use an overhead chop to hit his arms and repeat until death. Next, Draw himself! Wait until he pauses between spells and hit him with a flying head chop. --- Bards Tale 1 [Tales of the Unknown] --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Here is a method to increase your party's gold. First, load your party. Then go to the statistics screen for the first player. Pool all of the party's gold to the first player, then remove him from the party. Immediately after, load him back in. Then pool to the gold to another player. Repeat this for each player. Turn off the computer without saving the game and every player will have the gold of the entire party before. Repeat if wanted. If you are tired of waiting for morning to come, enter & exit the guild. --- Bards Tale 2 [The Destiny Knight] --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 1. If you are tired of waiting for morning to come, enter and exit the guild. 2. Find a band of illusionists, and kill off the front line. Have your castor conjure "DISRUPT ILLUSION", you will keep disbelieving and gaining experience. --- Bards Tale 3 [The Thief of Fate] --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ For a bit of fun, tell the guard at the Mad Dogs temple "HAMBURGER". --- Batman: The Movie --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ While the main title page is being displayed (the one with Joker and Batman), type "JAMMMM" (Amiga) or "MAJJJJ" (Atari ST). Either the words "CHEAT MODE ON" will appear at the top of the screen, or the screen will turn upside down. Begin the game as usual. You should now have unlimited lives, and pressing F10 skips to the next level. --- Batman: The Caped Crusader --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 1. To gain energy faster, go to a window with a thug in it. Walk to the left or right edge of the window (don't go to a side with a wall), and stand so that when you throw a batterang, it leaves the screen immediately. If you do this just when you hold down the button and the thugs walk to the edge you're at, he will become pinned to the edge of the screen for as long as you hold down the firebutton. When he drops an energy device, release the button and you can pick it up. The trick can be repeated in other windows to gain more energy. 2. If you are about to be hit from an incoming alien shot, press ESC to pause the game, move your ship out of the way, and press N to resume. 2. Hints for the first three levels: LEVEL 1: Get the green armous as soon as possible. If you have all of the amulet, don't go to the sphere unless you have collected at least four lots of monster remains, you'll need them to battle the end of level guardian. He's a bit soft in the head, so time your jumps carefully, and hit him there. LEVEL 2: There are four planets to visit, go to everyone if you want to get maximum points. Again, the green armour is very useful, so get it as quickly as possible. There's loads of ammo for the guardian of this level, unfortunetly that means there's loads of monsters to deal with. The back of the guardians head is the weak spot. LEVEL 3: Stand on the slabs and summersault. There are six planets here, and the transporters are more difficult to so, so you have to watch more carefully. --- Bionic Commando --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 1. Exit from level 1 exactly when the timer reads 1 for nine lives and a super high score. --- Blood Money --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Press HELP and then 1 or 2 to restock your supply of lives and money. --- Bombuzal --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Although you are not supposed to be able to, you can pause the game by holding down the space bar on the overhead map screen. When reaching a new level, it's worthwhile to sacrifice a life to see the explosion pattern. When trying to detonate a pulsing bomb, pick it up; it's easier to see its size. You are invulnerable to explosions when teleporting, so use it to your advantage! A blind droid can't activate switches. Now reboot and ADD all of the characters to the game. Begin the adventure and you will start back in the briefing room. Now you can play through the first scenario again but with a stronger party. Reach Salvation again, train and remove the characters another time. Repeat this whole process again and again until the party has attained fifth level or so. At the end of that round, you will start at the beginning with warp speed. --- Captain Blood --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Using the alien icons, ask CODE GG 1. The alien will then give you the coordinates of another alien called GG. Go to the specified planet and you can get the coordinates for all the other aliens around by asking for CODE INFORMATION HELP. --- Captive --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Dev-scapes: Basic - Anti Grav: Dance on the ceiling like Lionel Ritchie. Pause the game and type "THE BEST IS YET TO BE". Now, press the plus key on the numeric keypad. The mantas and walrus' will be invulnerble except to crashing (low altitude). On the Atari ST, use "GROW OLD ALONG WITH ME" instead. 2. Or try surrending and press the + and - keys to cycle all through all the objects in the game. 3. When paused, pressing + and - on the numeric keypad toggles Manta invincibility: the flying craft are no longer vulnerable to aerial attack, although collision with large objects is still fatal. Once a course has been programmed for the carrier, Mantas or Walrusses, engage autopilot and click on pause. To avoid sloggin around inreal type, you will find that pressing 3 on the keypad and unpausing again takes the corresponding craft directly to its destination. Likewise, pausing and pressing 2 replaces lost shielding, while tapping 1 refuels the craft in question. 9 shows the current difficulty level, 7 speeds up the game and 6 brings up the programmers' test palette! 4. Try pressing CTRL and M on the main screen for some interesting effects. 5. Try always to cut of the path to the homebase (top right island) of the enemy ship. It might get stuck without fuel and so buys you lot of time to conquer a lot of islands. 6. To take over the island in an action game, load up a Manta with two missles on each side and three in the middle. Launch and fly to the opposite side of the island, then fly in at top speed firing violently at the enemy command centre. This will free the island and only take about thirty seconds. --- Car-Vup --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ If you make it onto the high score table, enter the following for the desired results. All character values will be slightly increased. When you are next asked for your name, enter "SUPERVISOR". Now, play the game and press CONTROL for a menu. Click on the location to go there, or click on a monster and it will appear. 2. When a monstear appears, quickly hit return. You will do a half turn, take advantage of this and run away! 3. All armour, treasure and weapons inside palaces are restocked every time you enter. Send the strongest character in to grab the equipment, then distribute it among your band. If you need some quick gold, do this repeatedly, then go and see the weaponsmith. 4. Get all the experience points you want by going to Prince Haagkens castle. Make your way past the bats, past the first fireplace with the trap to the second fireplace. In front of the fireplace is a switch that activates a door, two or three rooms further on in the castle when you step on it. This door leads to a water fountain. Looking into the fountain transports you to a room filled with water that has a never ending supply of monsters. Take your best weapon and armour with you. Set your character on "auto kill", and if he/she is able to hang in there, you can leave your character in the room for several hours or all night killing of monsters. Do this for each character, and you will easily be able to kill the giant dragon. 5. Whenever you press the F10 key, all of your characters will be resurrected with all their magic levels restored. 6. If you follow to where the sun sets, eventually you'll come to a seaside. Walk out onto the water and aim at the mountains. When your characters start to sink into the water, press ENTER. Keep the joystick pointed forward to the mountains. Even though it looks like you're not going anywhere you are actually moving. After awhile, you'll come to a black island. There is usually a ghost on this island who carries magic items. Be careful while you're on this island because you can fall off with little warning. --- Driller --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ At the beginning of the game, shoot the shed many times to transform into a jet. --- Driving Force --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 1. When the main menu is showing, use the key pointer and click on the two letter "I"'s in driving. When you start the game, your vehicle will not go off of the side of the track, but it can be hit by other cars. 2. Also, before starting hold down the HELP key until the game has finished loading. You should now see the words "YOU CHEAT" appear in the nationality boxes. You will always qualify. --- Dungeon Master --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 1. Go to the dungeon entrance and face the door. Cast the spell OH EW RA. You will see someone interesting. 2. To advance ninjas a level, stand in a hall and throw your weapons. Then get them, and repeat. This also works with magic and fighter levels. Cast a spell at the air, or slash and bash until you gain a level. 3. When you have just put the Firestaff on to the power-gem, turn 180 degrees around and throw the Firestaff the way you just came in. Walk to get it again, and you will be able to wander anywhere with the Firestaff. - Make your way back to the Treasure Stores in Level 5 and enter the room where there are many pits. Standing in front of the pit cast a Flux Cage with the Firestaff. The cage will fall down the pit. - Fall down the pit yourself (You will be standing in the cage) - Whatever object you place inside the cage can now be picked up as many times as you like. Be careful as the game may crash. 4. To increase levels safely, find an area away from monsters. Looking at the character info screen, plug a joystick with autofire into the joystick port and sit back as the character kicks and punches while gaining levels. --- Dynamite Dux --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 1. Simply type "CHEAT" on the title screen, and then F1-F6 will skip to the corresponding level. 2. Type "NUDE" to get the boxing subgame. --- Dynasty Wars --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 1. When the title screen appears, type "CHEAT MODE". From now on, press F2 to skip to the next level. 2. Pause the game with F9, then hold down SHIFT, 1 and HELP, then unpause it with F10. Head up to the upper most left corner of this area and you should see lava, with a patch on it, that looks like a section of the "firewall spell". Very quickly, walk on this patch and you will be taken to the secret levels. --- Escape from the Planet of the Robot Monsters --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Play as normal, and make your way to the evil reptilion end of level beings. As they approach, don't bother to fight them, instead, run around them and stand in the furthest right hand corner. Now, keep using your bombs on the wall, and a weak spot will appear (you won't see it). Keep pushing in that direction while bombing and eventually, you will be able to walk through the wall. This only works in one player mode. --- Executive Leader Board --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Use a 6I on the 7th hole and you can get a hole in one. --- Exolon --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ For infinite lives type in "ad astra" (lowercase with space) on the high score screen. --- Eye of the Beholder --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Make two copies of Disk 2 then make up your parties on both disks. Play the game as usual, but when you find any secret passages or walls, or unlock any doors, insert the other disk and continue playing for a short while. This passes all the data onto this disk. Replace the original disk and continue playing and now, if you get stuck in the game and you have to start again, simply continue with the other disk and all the doors that were previously locked will be open. Plus, you'll be able to pick up the keys that you needed to unlock them as a bonus! --- Eye of Horus --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ When "Press Fire to Start" appears, enter "SPAM" for the cheat mode. You will have unlimited lives and will not need the colored keys for elevators. --- F29 Retaliator --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 1. For your name, enter "THE DIDY MEN". Click on the COLONEL ICON and hit return. Select the battle area, and then mission control. Accept a mission without selecting one, then go back and select a mission. Now play as normal but when you need to land hit ENTER to land automatically. 2. Also try entering for your name "CIARAN". Then load up the pilot log. It should say "OCEAN OK". Now you can fly with unlimited weapons. --- F/A-18 Interceptor --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 1. Select option 2. "Free Flight, No Enemy Confrontation." from the main menu. Now, instead of entering 1-4, hit 0. The screen should go very far to the south. Is there more to this backdoor? 2. Not exactly a backdoor, but a neat piece of realism. It is possible to black out if too many G's are pulled. To do this, fly straight and level out at full speed, and then tilt the jet sideways so that the horizon veritcally divides the screen in half. Then pull back on the stick, eventually you will hear a warning tone. Soon after that, the screen usually blacks out for a second or two. 3. In mission 6, once you've fired all your missles, you can land on the Shadow sub and it will refuel and re-arm you. --- Faery Tale Adventure --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 1. Take a save game file and use a PD program such as NewZap to patch byte 18 to a non-zero value. Load your save game, and now these cheat options are enabled: Arrow Keys - Move Rapidly over any terrain B - Summon Gold Swan R - Rescue Princess = - Display coordinates F10 - Location in coordinates F9 - Increase time by 1 hour 2. Sometimes you can accumulate all the treasure you want by going near the item, pressing space bar, and then continue hitting "T". You'll receive an infinate supply of that treasure. 3. Save your position in a dungeon. Then go through it until you run out of keys. When you restore your game, all the doors will be open and you will have a new set of keys. Also works in caves. 4. Jump on the turtle and start slashing. Your bravery points will go up to infinity and it doesn't hurt you or the turtle. 5. On the island with the Crystal Castle, press the right mouse button while talking to the Sorceress and your luck will go up to 65. "ASK"ing the Sorceress several times will usually boost your luck. 6. If running low on Green keys, use a secret entrance for the fort. It's on the left side, almost even with the door. 7. Go to the dark evil castle, stand right up against the force field. Let yourself starve so that you faint, and when you wake up, you'll be on the other side of the force field. --- Falcon --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 1. Press CONTROL-X to be rearmed (weapons back at full). 2. Also, if you have trouble landing, select END MISSION after completing your mission. 3. At the higher levels, as you're coming in over the verge of the runway, 10 to 20 feet about Smear City, press and hold the HELP "Center/Level" key and you're suddenly in what amounts to a harrier jump jet which floats you down to a landing soft as a baby's bottom. --- Federation (F.O.F.T) --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ To receive loads of credits: 1) Load the game and press F8, then NET to get access to network. Then HELP (return) and your trading name. When asked for new name, type Y and then note the code sequence. 2) Exit Net (type Q). Then quit (return), then BACKSPACE to exit station. Locate a friendly ship and lock on. 3) Press F8 then NET. Then your code, then T. If it's friendly you'll establish transmission. 4) Ask trader if he's selling, be persistent. 5) When he offers something, offer him one credit, then logoff. 6) Hit T and ask again if he has anything to trade. Persist until he does, but do not barter. 7) When he has an offer, hit any key (A-Z) until he asks if you want his goods or not. 8) Now hit Y and the transaction will be completed. 9) Check your credits by hitting I and space to see what goods you have. Any problems, re-establish contact and go back to step 5. 10) Repeat step 5. 11) When you make your bid, make it high, 5000 credits. 12) The trader will inform you that you do not have enough, and exit. 13) Re-establish contact and ask if he wants to buy-make sure you have something 14) He'll ask you for conformation, just press Y. 15) When he asks how much, just say 10 credits. 16) When the transaction is complete, check inventory, especially credits. --- Fernandez Must Die --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Pause the game and type in "SPINYNORMAN" (Obviously programmed by Monty Python fans) and lo and behold you've got infinite lives at your disposal. --- Fighter Bomber --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 1. Switch to cannons, or the plane will avoid lock on. Now refueling is easy. 3. To land, line up in front of the runway, making sure your horizon level is steady. Drop the gears, put the airbrakes and wheelbrakes on and press "G" for slow speed. Do not move all your forces into your command unit, or the enemy commander will wait until he is down to his last few men and challenge you to a one on one fight. If you lose, he will get half of your command unit. --- Ghostbusters II --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Turn on your amiga and insert disk 2. The hand will disappear for a little while and then reapper. Replace it with disk 1. Now load as usual but when playing press ENTER on the numeric keypad and you will advance to the next stage. Another method is to wait for the Activision logo to appear. Hold down ALT, CONTROL, S and U together, then press the firebutton. When you play the game will now allow you to skip levels with F1. --- Ghost's and Goblins --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Get a high score and for your name enter )!( then select END. Once you've lost your armour you'll be invincible and have unlimited lives. --- Ghouls 'n' Ghosts --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 1. After starting the game, quickly type "KARENBROADHURST" for invulnerability. 2. When the credits screen appears type "DELBOY". Start the game and you will have more lives. --- Globulous --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 1. The most important thing to remember is that ALL of the puzzles can be solved without losing a life. 2. Look before you leap. Think about how the screen will look from a flipped perspective. A lot of jumps you make will be unnecesssary and waste time and switches. 3. Make sure you have enough switches, at least 10 per screen. It is possible to get stuck on a downward slope with no way to get back up of kill yourself. Spend all of your remaining money on food and health. Collect all the gems in the usual manner, then get a key and make for the exit. Now comes the tricky bit... When you descend the last ladder, two thieves will appear. Make sure that you don't quite have enough energy to survive a direct contact! Before going down the ladder, release your magic potion, then climb down and open the door. Stand in front of the door ready to leave, but don't push up yet! Wait until the thieves jump down at you and as soon as they touch you push the joystick up. You may loose that life, but then something rather strange will happen. The bonus will start to whiz up for quite some time, until the game starts again on world two with 28 extra men and about five million points! --- Goldrunner --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Type "easymode" on the high-score table. From now on, F9 skips levels and makes you invulnerable. F8 turns off the cheat mode. --- Golden Axe --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Instead of standing directly in front of the enemy, position your character above or below them. When they walk close to you, move down/up and attack. This way, even if they have a long reach you will get the first hit. Also, if you are riding a dragon and a thief walks onto the screen. Breathe on him when he's near the edge of the screen. These tricks also work for Hard Driving II. --- Hardball --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Various hints: * Allstars are better than champs, * Only steal if you actually hit the ball, * Try to get a lot of runs early, as the computer team improves towards the end, * Bunting rarely works, * Halfway through the match, swap Laws for Wells and Wratten for Harris. * The best pitchers are Oliver, Perez, Leary, Cook. The others will only be successful for a short while, * Never pitch fastballs to the center as they will usually result in home runs, * Change pitchers after a few innings, because as they get tired, their accuracy and speed get worse. --- Hawkeye --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 1. This allows you to use Raistlin's magic & the healing staff of Goldmoon without too much hassle. Save Tanis and Riverwind for the later levels, where the bows come in handy. When fighting Gully Dwarves, use Tasslehoff who is the same height as them. His sling stones will never miss. Avoid fighting Hatchlings, they're not worth it. Just turn and run when you meet one; when you reach an intersection move into a new path and wait a little. When you return, the Hatchling will have gone. Killing Bozaks: two methods: 1) get Raistlin to use a web, sleep or charm spell to stun it, then send a warrior to clobber it to death, or 2) select Flint, who is a dwarf; 9 out of 10 times, the Bozak's shots will go over his head get close to enter melee combat, and use low thrusts to kill it. Spectral Minions: they're easy to kill, so use a warrior. Wraiths: a well-timed throw of an axe kills them every time. If you miss, use a sword and chest-thrust movements. Don't let it get too close to you! Spiders: use low thrusts to keep them at bay. If they get through your guard, retreat until you can turn and fight again. The blue and green potions restore health, red slows down monsters, and yellow give your characters extra confid- ence. --- Hillsfar --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ When picking locks with your tools press the F key and all will be revealed. --- Horror Zombies from the Crypt --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 1. When he passes, hold up the amulet and Mordamir will spin in. Use the STATUE spell 3 times to stop being killed by lightning, then just as he starts the next spell put up a sonic spell. Use STATUE twice more and when he animates the bones, hit the statue just before they reach you. He will now say that you have no more defences, so wait until he holds up the amulet then cast the MAGNETIC spell. She will give you the Ring of Belz, which will only work in conjunction with the spell scroll. 4. Objects are not always in the same place, game to game. To survive the final confrontation, a high psychic rating is needed. You can increase this by donating skringles to the poor. Disorderly conduct has the opposite effect. The safest way to win space battles is to slow right down as soon as you see the aliens, shoot them all, then power away at full steam until the next lot. Follow Readheads ship, if you see it. Heatpro tablets are necessary if you beam down to one of the hotter planets. Make notes of what you are told, and use any new names or subjects to find out every last bit of information from each character. --- Laser Squad --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ In LASER SQUAD, for fun do The Assassins on Level 1. Buy no armour, give the corporal an M4000 with two reloads, the next two rocket launchers with four rockets each, and the last two nothing at all. Deploy in the entrance, in the gap in the outer wall , and take the house to pieces with the rockets, waiting for droids or Regix to show up - get them with Jonlan's M4000. I managed to do the scenario with one shot - it went BETWEEN the leaves of the door, blew up against a wall and Regix was on the other side. --- Last Duel --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Pause and press F9 the hold down HELP, LEFT SHIFT, and 1 all at once then unpause the game and press the function keys to skip levels. Near the end of level 1.1 there are three large steps that you must climb to reach your brother (sister?), who is in a cage. Stand at the left edge of the top step, facing left and jump. But as you jump, fire. If your current weapon is arrows, fire halfway up, but if your weapon is bombs, fire at the top of your jump. A whirl-wind should appear after four hits, and it will take you to level 1.4. In 1.4, you will be in a little box under some water. Go up and to the right, and you come out in a small room with three boxes on the right hand side. Go up these, and you will see 4 long spaces, the top one having an "N" and a "D" in it. Go up to the top one, get the letters, stand in the centre of the space, facing left, and fire. Yep, you guessed it, another whirl-wind. This one takes you to level 2.4. Or on level 2.4 , stand at the entrance to the room where the giant octopus is located and fire to the right several times. A warp will appear that will take you to the beginning of level 3.1. On level 1, part 1, move to the area containing three men with boomerangs, shoot them. Go to the top of the third platform, move to the left, jump and fire five times. A whirlwind in a box will appear, if you enter it, you will be transported to the end of the level. Then you can free Tiki's naughty friend just by jumping. When you recch the ice whale, move to the right-hand side of the spikes, avoid the crystals, and wait until he picks you up. Once inside the whale, you can start shooting, but avoid the ice drops. Meeting the rock monster without bombs makes him difficult to pass. So collect bombs, go to the highest platform and shoot him. Kill it by either dodging the bullets and hitting it when the doors open, or by fireballs. The last boss you encounter is the balloon seal. He cant be killed, by blows to the body, so you must hit the balloon. Be careful for the balloon seal is armed with a cannon and shoots cannon balls at Tiki. The town names are: AUCKLAND, ROTORUA, WAITOMO CAVES, STRAIT COOK, and MT COOK. --- Neuromancer --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ When you first begin, sell all of your body parts. You can get along without them for now, and it gives you enough to buy a decent deck. But, when you are taken to the morgue, you automatically escape. 3. Head once again for Midian, but actually enter the city this time. As the Mask throws knives at you, move the joystick in an anti-clockwise square, and only 2 or 3 knives will hit you before he runs off. 4. Enter Midian to be greeted by Lylesburg. He will allow you to explore Midian. By typing HAMBURGER-HILL using the minus key on the numeric keypad, you can use F1-F4 to skip to the corresponding level. 2. Type in "Hamburger" at the title screen. The word "Cheat" will appear below the credits. Press your joystick button, then F5, when the jungle screen comes up. Your man is now invulnerable to attacks.. From here (F1) starts you where you are, (F2) puts you at the location of the explosives, (F3) takes you to the bridges that you have to blow up, (F4) takes you straight to the village where the entrance to the tunnels is hidden in one of the huts. From here on the cheat no longer works, the game runs as normal and you can die but it certainly gets you further along the track. --- Plague --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 1. Climb the ladder and take the egg, then go to the left into the water to find the submarine room. There is also a way to find some hidden extra food. So choose droids with good lasers, Jack and Spud for example. The Quadralien mother is made up of 4 separate pieces grouped together and surrounded by Earthling boxes. The mother can only be destroyed by blowing up each box from a different direction. From the starting point there are three exits: north, east, and west. Go east and destroy the first box, return to the starting point, and go north to destroy the second box. You will now have both droids to blow the remaining boxes. Go west through the one-way force field, and get the other. Don't forget to keep recharging. --- R-Type --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ (Amiga) Enter "SUMITA." on the high score table for unlimited lives. We all know that collecting the seven different-colored gems gives you an extra life and a 100,000 Bonus Gem once the Boss is defeated. But collecting all of the gems in the correct order of color (from left to right on the gem counter) not only awards you the life and Bonus Gem, it also grants you access to a magical secret room. When you reach the end of the level, a silver door appears. `You don't have to fight the Boss. (Hint A) Even more useful is how to create any color gem. The screen is split into several invisible vertical stripes of color. When a gem falls, its color is determined by the `color' of the area into which it fell. Now all you have to do is guage carefully where the dead enemy will fall to create the gem color of your choice. (Hint B) --- Rally Cross Challenge --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ As the game starts, follow the railway track and the screen will go blank. Now you will find yourself with 24 tokens with which you can equip your car with just about anything. When you reach the track called 'Locomotion' drive your car up the railway track to the end. Then, while playing the game, pressing F9 will boost Robocop's energy and F10 will skip to the next level. --- Robbery --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ You can restart the level you are on without losing your score or any lives by pressing both mouse buttons, simultaneously. --- Rock 'N Roll --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Enter "RAINBOW ARTS" for your name. The screen should turn grey. To warp to any level, enter the following: Level number, XX, followed by four digits that when added together equal the level number, XX, and then the level number reversed. Examples: To play level 12, Enter -> 12 XX 3333 XX 21 12 = Level number, XX, 3+3+3+3 =12 etc. If you want to hear the tunes type "COUNTRY" and a menu will appear. Another tip allows you to get to level 33 (1 level after the last!) Here's How: Find the special hole on level 1. It's surrounded by 3 left pointing arrows. Fall down the hole, and press the left mouse button. You are now warped to level 33! Hints and Secrets LVL | NAME HINT 1 Easy Living Warp to 33 by using the third repair kit you come to on the hole next to it. 2 Up and Down Warp to 20 by going clockwise around the outside level of eggs about halfway through the level. 3 Silent Moving Warp to 24 by filling in the middle row of a 3x3 hole near the start with nearby repair kits. 4 Time is Money Warp to 11 by using the single repair kit opposite the middle of three arrows, then keep rolling right across the hole before smashing up all the eggs. 5 Words R Easy Crush all eggs for extra ball. Use repair kits to get to those in the shape of GO IN and the second pipe takes you to the other two. 6 Geometric Warp to 8 by using one repair kit on each space where the railing is missing in an area of many ventilators. 7 Secret Area The secret area that is here can only be discovered from Level 27. 8 Varied Offer First level with a continue shop. 9 Crossroads Throw all four switches in top half to remove ventilators and magnets. Crushing all the eggs puts your energy back to maximum, but this is hardly worth bothering with because you do get a full energy charge at the start of each level. 10 Try the Tree (Time Limit - 9.00 Mins) Tight time limit. total of six red keys and one blue key are needed and at least 2700 coins before going to the bottom of the tree. 11 Beam Me Up Crush all eggs for 15,000 points. Five smashable walls need breaking. Use one armoured ball. 12 Bombastic Crush all eggs for a 500 coin bonus. 13 Tricky Track (Time Limit 8.00 Mins) Take icy U-turns by bouncing off walls. 14 Way Out Warp to level 18. There are four potential routes to the transporter and the exit. The right hand one is the one to go for. 15 Fragile Action Second level with a continue shop. To get through the green lock in the repair kit area, the fragile floor must be completely covered to reveal a key. 16 Air Fortress Tricky level, in the shape of a plane and "FLY". 17 Open and Close 18 Running Man (Time Limit 3.30 Mins) Going around the outside is easiest but nets no points. 19 Helping Hand 20 Your Choice The quickest way to the exit is to continue right from the furthest repair kit and follow the obvious route. Make sure you have plenty of repair kits as you can't return (+1 parachute) 21 Push and Fall 22 Riddle Rooms Crush all the eggs for an extra life. Make certain to get all available repair kits. 23 Disk Access 24 Skating Rink (Time Limit 7.00 Mins) Make certain you buy the spikes. 25 Arrow Action At the arrow junctions, the directions required are up, up, right, up, left, up, left, up. Crush all eggs for a boost back to full energy. 26 Don't Panic 27 Radiation Warp back to level 7 by moving all the balls on the platform out from the centre. You now have a bomb to visit the secret area when you warp to 7. On visiting the secret area the balls must be moved two spaces to the left and right to warp to 30. Don't use the green key to go through the pipe. 28 Think Twice 29 Free Fall 30 Roller Coaster 31 Crazy Dreams Crush all eggs for full energy 32 Castle of Doom 33 Bonus Level All exits go to level 2. --- Rock Star Ate My Hamster --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Simply type the word "COLBOPS" and now press F7 for an extra 100,000 pounds cash. Pressing F8 will make your band play as well as it possibly can. F9 will produce maximum crowds at your gigs. --- Rocket Ranger --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Rescue the professor as this slows down the nazis, they can't use him to increase their efficiency. You will waste valuable time unless you rescue him from the Zeppelin while he is over the Atlantic Shooting the gunner in the Gondola is tricky, the best method being shoot below the gunner and move left and right until you are on target. Gradually move up until you hit the Gondola. When you hit it there is a flash, stop firing and after a few seconds you'll be inside the Gondola. Find the supply of Lunarium before the Fort Knox supply runs out, so infiltrate the Nazi base which recieves Lunarium from the moon. It is in South America or Africa, once infiltrated, your agent there will cary on sending you Lunarium throughout the game. You will have to storm the Nazi base first. NOTE: In a different magazine it recommends you don't waste time rescuing the professor, as you will be always too late. Instead use the agents to find rocket factories, and uranium depots. --- Rolling Thunder --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ On the title screen type "JIMBBBY" (the scrolltext will print "Cheat Mode On"). If this happens, go to the control selection and type "scrap 28" and then start the game. The effect is the same as above. 3. Mastertronics budget release version, the new cheat is "scrap 29". --- Silkworm IV (SWIV) --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Type "NCC-1701" and press return during gameplay for unlimited lives. In-game press P to pause the game and type NCC-1701 then press N, the screen will flash. Press P again to unpause and from there on both players will now have infinite lives. (The - symbol refers to the one on the main keyboard NOT the numeric keypad) After defeating a Goosecopter, fire continously at one of the tokens. After 32 hits, it will turn into a star, which when collected will yield mega-powerful six-way fire. Just be careful not to hit the token again before collecting it, or it will revert back to the one of the ordinary power-up tokens. --- Sierra On Line Adventures --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ This will work on : Kings Quest I, II, III Leisure Suit Larry I Police Quest I Space Quest I Upon reaching the playing screen, enter ALT-D and hit return a couple times until you get back to the game playing ">" prompt. Now type "TP" On the next prompt, enter any two digit room number and you will be instantly transported! Be careful though, you may end up standing in the middle of a bad situation if you were standing in a bad place before teleporting. --- SimCity --- ***************** 1. Hold SHIFT and type "FUND" for $10,000. It will cause an earthquake every third time you do it, so do it before you start your city. On the Atari ST, substitute "MONEY" for "FUND" for the same results. 2. Another tip is to set the citizen's taxes to 0%. Then just before tax collection (December or November if playing at fast speed) quickly set the taxes up to 20%. Then after you collect taxes, put it back down to 0%. This way the citizens think they are not paying any taxes. 3. You can build land on water. First, find a straight stretch of coastline and string a powerline along it. Next, move one square out into the water, and string another powerline parallel to the first. Move out on one more square, and string a third power line. Land will appear under the second line. You can continue this as long as you like. When finished, just bulldoze the excess power line, and build on the new land. 4. Another way to make land is as follows. Make a 3 lane highway across any water source. When you make a road on top of three sections of road on top of three sections of road (3 by 3) you end up with 1 section of land in the middle. To make more land, simply move the roads over. --- Sinbad and the Throne of the Falcon --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 1. When you are about to die, select the close icon, and then continue. You'll be as good as new and back at the map. 2. If you get killed, immediately click the QUIT icon twice. Sell it all back and you have an additional 20,000 mu's. If you only sell 990 back you get 2,714,000 mu's. --- Starglider --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Slow down your ship completely, and press F1 for fixed sights. Press BACKSPACE to pause the game and type "js arg s". You should now be invincible, and your fuel and shields will never deplete. Press "P" for more missles. To enter the secret object viewer, press "z". Then press "p" to pause. Select [, and .] and manipulate objects. You can use all keys but "q" and "ESC". Use the mouse to change point of view, or magnification with right mouse button. --- Starglider II --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Slow down your ship completely and press "F" for fixed sights. You will then have access to a cheat menu. --- Warhawk --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ After beating the blue blob, pressing F3 gives you continuous fire. --- Warhead --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ When you first attack the bereserker hit him with everything including the MDC. He will keep following you. When Solbase says to take him anywhere, go to CH010 and he will get sucked into a black hole. --- Warlock the Avenger --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ At the first treasure chest on level one, choose the key. --- Wayne Gretzky Hockey --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ While you are playing the game and powering up the rink towards the oppoment's goal with the puck in your possension, press the ? key to remove your opponent's goalie from his goal area. He'll reappear in a forward position so you'll be outnumbered, but it is better to have an open goal. --- Weird Dreams --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ In the hall of mirrors, walk into the rightmost mirror as far as you can without passing to the other side. Enter SOS on the HELP key in morse code. That is, 3 quick presses, 3 slow presses, and 3 quick presses. Your lives counter should now be an infinity symbol. --- Wicked --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Here is what the tarot cards mean, with an explanation: SUN: Arms you with eight-way autofire. STAR: A little star joins you, and fires when you do. DEATH: Gives you an extra life. HANGED MAN: Eats away at your time limit. MOON: The forces of evil hime in on you. WHEEL OF FORTUNE: Gives you energy, or takes it away LION: Shields you from evil forces. --- Wings --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ BALLOON BUSTING- The first thing to do in Balloon Busting missions is to take out the AA gun. It isn't too hard so give it a try. DOG FIGHTS- When involved in a dog fight with other planes always attack from above. This is because if you attack from below the other plane will climb which is very annoying. By attacking from above you drive the other plane down rather than up. BEING TAILED- When you are being tailed hold the joystick to the bottom-right. You should turn off to the right and out of the other planes line of fire. Each letter of the word WINGS on the main menu does something. To access them hold down the CTRL Shift and Alt keys on the left side of the keyboard while holding down the right mouse button. While holding down these keys and button, you can click on each of the letters in Wings with the left mouse button. Each letter does the following: "W" toggles the music on and off "I" turns the CAPS LOCK key into an autofire button "N" no flight school missions required for new pilots "G" Guess "S" Saves game without having to exit To access the other cheats you must go to flight school. To get an awesome pilot (once only) click on the bullseye on the airplane at the top of the flight school menu. The screen will either flash or you will get a requester asking if you want to quit (say no). Then create a new pilot. Enter the name "Orca The Killer Tomato" (without the quotes, and remember it's case sensitive). Orca is all ready and doesn't need flight school. To access a menu of options (much of which is no longer useful or active) create a new pilot. Enter the name " Who is The Riddler" Leave off the quotes but be sure and type the two leading spaces. DO NOT HIT RETURN to enter the name, hit ESC instead. Then just follow the prompt. If you run from a hard disk you can hit LEFT-AMIGA ESC to toggle to the Workbench screen and back. --- Wings of Fury --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ While playing, type "COLIN WAS HERE" to activate the cheat mode. A message will appear at the bottom of the screen and the following keys are activated. P - Gives you a plane (extra live). Keep pressing as needed. C - Changes your weapon without having to return to carrier. M - Gives you unlimited # of your weapon. Will cycle through 99 to 0 and then loop again. D - Invulnerability to plane fire and gun fire. F - Refuel without returning to carrier. --- Wizball --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 1. Pause the game and type "RAINBOWT" for cheat mode. Or type "WIZBORE" twice on the title screen for invulnerability. 2. Pause the game and type "RAINBOW". Now resume and hit space, followed by the "C" key to fill the pot with the current color. --- Xenon --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Let yourself be killed off at Level 2, Stage 2 and all the aliens in the round will be destroyed. --- Xenon II --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Pause the game and type "RUSSIAN AIR" and unpause the game. While holding both mouse buttons, insert the game disk. Keep them held down until the title screen appears. Then start the game, and when you're in the shop hold HELP and DEL for a few seconds. Play as usual and you should have infinite energy. 2. On the equipment screen, select the white bug-shaped ship and put it on the grid area. Choose the single orange coloured laser, drag it up to the face of the shop owner and keep clicking the left mouse button. You'll get $500,000 credits. 3. Buy any ship and place it on the grid area. Then buy any shield, put it on the grid, and then drag it to the ship owner and sell it. You will receive $500 more than you paid for it. Repeat as needed. --- Xybots --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Get a high score and enter "ALF" for your name. Now you will have unlimited lives. If you manage to reach level 10, you're better off using your radar to kill the Xybots. Just line them up using radar and fire, you don't have to be able to see them. Keep as many keys with you as possible because some levels don't have enough to complete them. There are short cuts to level seven on levels one and four - you get extra cash for using them. If you have the extra energy upgrade try not to let your energy fall below 100m, because you lose the upgrade if it does. Drums are not just decorations - hide behind them when possible and use your zapper near to them to find more cannon power. On level eight, near to the top left hand transporter you can get to two white coins by blasting away one of the three walls around them. Don't split up in the two-player game, because it's easier to complete it together. The master Xybot lives on level 11, and you'll need to stock up on double shot and extra shot speed to stand a chance of survival. Try to get one Xybot to stand behind another - they'll blow each other apart. --- Z-Out --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 1, While playing the game, at any time hold the "J" key. Continue holding and press 1-6 on the main keyboard and you will be transported to the respective level. Pressing 1-3 on the numeric keypad will skip to the different stages within the level. 2. But here's some extra tips anyway: 1) To lock up the mall to keep zombies from getting in, you need to park the trucks over the entrances. Get the key from the office on the 2nd floor and go to the 4th floor where the keys to the trucks are kept. 2) To keep the dead zombies from coming to un-life, lock them up in the freezer in the basement. 3) before you can go play in the basement, you need a source of light.Get the fuses and gloves from the 3rd floor and go to it. --- Zoom! --- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Press the F10 key when asked to select the starting level and you can start at level 30 instead of level 10.
