³FIRST MEGA - COOPERATION PARTY

On  the 14th of September another party
was  held.   This  time  6  (six  !!!!)
groups invited the whole scene to share
a  cool  weekend  with  them.  Addonic,
Action,   Crest,  Victims,  Duplex  and
Oregon were the names of the organizers
and     the     invitation     promised
much..........huge   room  with  enough
place  for  700 people and 300 computer
stations, hot music, girls and a lot of
fun..........and  so  I prepared myself
for a very cool weekend.

We  (some  sixty-four users and I) took
off at around 12:00 and all guys in our
car were all a bit drunk from the night
before.   So one was sleeping the whole
time,  another had to endure a hangover
while  driving  and  I felt not so well
myself.  Just our driver was fit and he
nerved  us  with  his  really bad jokes
about  our looks etc..  But anyway, all
in all it was a very funny drivin-tour.
Even  our  car had to have a check at a
petrol  station  because the motor made
strange  noises.  Anyway, we arrived at
around  15:00  and  after  we payed the
entrance  fee  of  7  DM we entered the
hall where the event would be held.

I  soon  met  freaks  I knew from other
partys  and so the day seemed to become
a  success.   I built up my machine and
after  this  I  decided  to check which
groups  are  presented.   Unfortunately
they  were mostly C=64 and so I was not
so  much  interested to come in contact
with  them.   On  Amiga  were guys from
Spreadpoint, Red Sector, Agnostic Front
(of  course...),  Hysteric, T.E.T.  and
some others I can not remember.  But it
wasn`t the crowd that I expected.  Just
around   70-90  people  and  around  50
computers  were  since  17:00 presented
and  so  there  was really enough place
for everybody.
 
But  I  really wondered if 700 people
would  come, where they should take the
place, because I think the room is just
for  a  maximum  of  around 300 people.
Now   some   notes  about  things  that
happened there.

First the  demo competition:
It wasn`t a bad one, butthe demoes were
mostly  made on sixty-four it was a bit
boring  for  Amiga  users  and also the
prizes weren`t the best.  Unfortunately
there   were   neither  GFX  nor  music
competition  and I think the organizers
should  work on that fact to build this
into the upcoming parties.

You  could  also buy food and drinks at
the  party  place,  but the prizes were
too  high  and  the  food  tasted  like
nothing  and so most guys ate and drank
the  things  which  they brought to the
party.  By the way, also some so called
`security-guards` were present.  On the
party  -  ticket  it  said  that  their
business  is  to  watch  if somebody is
damaging  or  smearing around but in my
opinion  they  could  be also for more.
They  were  also  watching  and  asking
around  what some guys were copying and
rumours  were  running around that they
are real piracy - cops.

So there wasn`t a so good party feeling
because  of this.  Result:  I think the
organizers  should  work much harder on
this  party  to  make  it  a  real cool
meeting,  otherwise  it  will  end as a
disaster.   Included also was a GFX and
music  competition,  set the prizes for
food and drinks down, better prizes for
the  winners  of each competition, next
time  perhaps  real  `hot  music`.  Why
weren`t  there any girls to find as the
invitation said?

And  some  things more which aren`t now
worth  to  list.   If you want to go to
one  of  the  next  `Mega - cooperation
party`  I will just remind you that you
shouldn`t  expect too much because this
first   party   was  really  not  good.
Perhaps  the  following  will be better
but just if many things will be changed
- we`ll see.

²Ps.   After  one  week of writting this
article  I  heard  the  reason why this
party  was  so  boring.  It was again a
Sperical Design fake party.
