‡In the last issue I've made some kind of special review on the Gothic/Death-
Metal Cult band PARADISE LOST. This time I'll take a special look on the
legendary American Punk-Rock rebels, the DEAD KENNEDYS. Following tests of at
least two of their releases plus the lyrics of their 1982 mini album relase "IN
GOD WE TRUST, INC." If you want to buy something by the DEAD KENNEDYS, forget
it! Sold out since years...

"RELIGIOUS VOMIT" is another atheist song. I think I better don't give a rating
but there are right things in the lyrics.

"MORAL MAJORITY" begins with a church choir where the priest sings: "We are 
gathered here tonight to pay tribute to our lord, and money to me..."
It's a good song, very fast, very punky.

|\   |   / "HYPERACTIVE CHILD" is a song about school. They don't want children
| \  |  /  with a mind of their own.

|   \|/    "KEPONE FACTORY" tells about the chemical industry's careless way of
|    X     handling their dangerous chemicals. This song is very cynical and
|   /|\    very aggressive.

| /  |  \  "DOG BITE" is a very short song, and the lyrics don't make much
|/   |   \ sense, but I love it! It's so cool...

"NAZI PUNKS FUCK OFF" comes next. I have never seen any Nazi Punk anywhere, but
who cares... Anyway, it has really great lyrics.

"WE'VE GOT A BIGGER PROBLEM NOW" is a later, slightly changed version of their
"CALIFORNIA UBER ALLES". It starts like a blues and turns into agressive, great
Punk style soon. The DEAD KENNEDY's best song I think. The lyrics are really
brilliant, check them!!!

"RAWHIDE" is the last tune on this mini-album. It's not as fast as the others,
but it's a good end tune.

The DEAD KENNEDYS were really great. I love them for their good and aggressive
music, and especially for their brilliant lyrics. I've typed in the lyrics of
"IN GOD WE TRUST, INC.", to give you an impression of the DK's message.
I don't have any of their productions in original, but a girl I know once gave
me this cassette she had bought in the USA. On one side, there were the fifteen
minutes of music I just tested. On the other side there was a text printed that
said: "HOME TAPING IS KILLING RECORD INDUSTRY PROFITS. WE LEFT THIS SIDE BLANK
SO YOU CAN HELP!" Really cool, long live the underground record labels!!
