In  May  I was asked to join the group
Silicon,  because  I  was  a coder.  I
said  §Ayes§1,  and I joined them.  One of
the  reasons they wanted me for is for
the   coding   of   ¬2vectors¬1.   I  hate
vectors,  but I will do some for them,
because  I  like to be in such a group
as Silicon.

Nowadays,  almost  ¬3every demo contains
vectors¬1.   Two years ago this might be
alright,  but  now:   haven't  we  had
enough  of  them  ?   We're all making
demos  full  of  vector  effects, just
like every other coder.  Isn't it time
to  do  something  more  original.   I
mean:   ¬3can't  you  think of something
else than vectors ?¬1
  Many   people  agree  with  me  that
vectors are beginning to get bored, so
coders:  think of something original!
  Two  years  ago  ¬2Alcatraz¬1 released a
demo  with  vectors  only, and at that
time,  it was very impressive.  But if
you release something like that now, a
lot  of  people  will  not  watch it a
second time!
  ¬2Vectors¬1   are   so  boring  at  this
moment,  that I will not watch another
demo  ¬3FULL¬1  of  those  boring effects.
One   or  two  vectors  for  about  30
seconds  each:  okay, but 10 different
kinds         of         them        :
¬4Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!¬1
  Okay,  I  will try to be reasonable,
but this is just the way I think about
vectors.  Look what we all have :

¬3- line vectors
¬2- filled vectors
¬3- 2D vectors
¬2- 3D vectors
¬3- cube vectors
¬2- triangle vectors
¬3- plasma vectors
¬2- glenz vectors

Isn't it a bit boring to see all these
effects in §aEVERY§1 demo?

Well  I hope that you're not mad at me
for saying all this about vectors, but
if  you  are, please don't take it too
seriously:  ¬3these are MY opinions¬1.

Hope  you're  not  mad  at ME if I ask
myself  why  ¬3YOU¬1  don't  make anything
else,  if  you think vectors are shit.
Why  not tell the guys in Silicon they
can  ¬3get  lost  with their vectors¬1 and
that you will create something totally
new   and  exciting.   Something  that
makes   you   the  most  original  and
innovative    (and    most    beloved,
probably) coder around!
  My  opinion  §A(as coder)§1 is that most
vectorroutines are pretty difficult to
make and it is perfectly natural for a
coder to show off with his routine for
a  couple  of  minutes  even though he
probably  worked  hours  for  what you
describe as §aboring§1 and §aAaaaaaargh!§1
  If  however the routine is copied or
used  ¬24¬1 or ¬25¬1 or ¬26¬1 or ¬27¬1 or ¬28¬1 or (get my
point)  ¬3n¬1  times I can imagine you get
totally  bored.   But you can't expect
coders to recreate their vectorroutine
each  time  from  scratch!   So go and
¬4make something new yourself!¬1  (I think
everyone wants something new nowadays,
so don't take it too hard)
