	Here's a little coverage of ³RAP-MUSIC² of the year 1991: what records were
released, all the newcomers and that kind of things.
	Lets start with the "old" groups who released records this year. There was
of course the new plate from ¹Public Enemy²: "³Apocalypse 91 The Enemy Strikes Black²".
This record was a really hit, it includes some def tracks like
³Can't Truss It², ³Lost At Rebirth² and ³Shut Em Down². There was also a pretty
interesting track called ³Bring Tha Noize², which is made with ³Anthrax². It is
a new version from the track ³It Takes A Nation Of...² the record itself is a
bit different compared to the earlier ones, it's produced by ¹The Imperial Grand
Minister Of Funk² since ³The Bomb Squad² is dead. The group has a new female member called ³Sister Souljah² and
³Proff². ³Griff² has left PE. ³The D.J² of PE (³Terminator X²) also made a solo record
in the beginning of the summer with female rappers called ¹Bonnie² and
¹Clyde². It includes some really good tracks like ³Homie Don't Play Dat², just to
mention one. This brought up some big rumors like PE was breaking up and all
that kind of shit.
	From the western coast of USA came some good records too. ¹Ice-T² made a new record
called ³Original Gangster² (O.G) with new cool old school beats and gangster
stories. In the plate is also a soundtrack (³New Jack Hustler²) from the movie
New Jack City in which Ice-T himself had one of the main roles. There is also
a track from a new hardcore band: ¹Body Count², on which Ice-T has had a
strong effect. This was the only thing from Rhyme Syndicate which was worth
mentioning.
	¹NWA²'s new record Niggaz 4 Life with slamming compton sounds and pervert
rhymes was too one of the "older" groups' records which certainly hit the top.
The track called ³Always Into Sumthing² is one of the best on the album, the
track had a new version made for the radios and video because the original
version had too many swearing words on it (heh), so the USA goverment
pressure against explicit lyrics hasn't made any effect to Eazy-E and his
companions. Another compton style album came from ¹ICE CUBE². Death
Certificate, his 3rd solo album since departure from the NWA is his best yet.
It's prduced by ³the Boogiemen² who produced another great record too, but
I'll get to it later. Death Certificate contains really great tracks like ³Givin Up
The Nappy Dug Out² and ³No Vaseline². No Vaseline is ICE CUBE's message to NWA since
they have been saying
some ugly things about him, so ICE CUBE said it all back on one goddamn great
song. ICE CUBE was also starring in a film called ³Boyz In Tha Hood², and made
a few soundtracks to it too.
	From the older Native Tongues Stars came quite a lot of good records. The
new record of ¹De La Soul², De La Soul Is Dead, was one of the more popular
ones. The track Ring, Ring, Ring reached pop charts probably on every country
and the other tracks like Keeping The Faith and Saturdays were pretty popular
too. DLS's new record could be said a pretty weird since there are some odd
things in it like stepping sound on a beat and some offensive things
regarding house music and hardcore rappers. Then there are tracks which are
really fucked up but funny from a certain point of view. De La Soul had some
trouble with releasing the record because they had some trouble with
sample licenses. ¹Tribe Called Quest²'s 2nd record Low End
Theory is totally great, it has some Jazz type tracks (³We Got The Jazz²) and
some really smooth mellow tracks (³Check The Rhyme²). This record is quite
different comparing to their earlier ones: this one is made propably with more
serious attitude and has live base and drum players on it.
