Quick bit of news about the 1994 AMT/ERTL range;

Ertl have cancelled the  Enterprise-A  with  optical  fibres and have
decided to release an Enterprise-D with optics instead! Also a couple
more interesting items will appear so the Ertl 1994 releases now look
like this...

The Deep Space Nine  18  inch  diameter  model  is  on sale priced at
around £20.00.

Appearing in July will be  the  new  U.S.S. Enterprise NCC 1701-D and
will be the aforementioned  fibre  optic  version. The latest details
suggest that a single largish  bulb  will  be  connected  to A LOT of
optical fibres and a battery operated drill will be included with the
kit so that the builder can  decide  exactly which port-holes will be
illuminated. Due to the fibre optics  and the drill this variation on
the current Enterprise-D model will retail for around £45.

Also on top of all of this  Tuskudas  Star Trek VI kits are making an
appearance over here. These are a 20"  Klingon Bird of Prey and a 20"
U.S.S. Excelsior NCC 2000 both in vinyl and both £99.99!

Comet miniatures have announced  their  Cardassian warship, more news
on that next issue  but  don't  hold  your  breath  to  see the model
because AMT/Ertl are getting  very  agitated  about  Comets Star Trek
kits.

Some rumours are filtering through  about  AMT/ERTLs 1995 range which
supposedly contains the U.S.S. Enterprise  NCC  1701-C (in scale with
the Ertl Enterprise-D) and a Klingon Bird  Of Prey (in scale with the
movie Enterprise) as well  as  the  U.S.S.  Voyager  and a space dock
(I'll believe that when I see it).

Playmates Star Trek: The Next  Generation  figure selection will grow
considerably later this  year  with  the  addition  of  the following
figures;

Ambassador Sarek ("Sarek")
Dr Noonian Soong ("Brothers")
Lwaxana Troi ("Menage A Troi" and others)
Lt Tasha Yar (1st season)
Q in Judges Robes ("Encounter at Farpoint")

A "Dixon Hill" playset will  be  released  and is rumoured to include
figures of Picard,  Data,  Dr.  Crusher  and  Guinan  dressed  in the
appropriate outfits! Now something a  lot  of  people will want... an
engineering playset! Prices are unknown at this time but look out for
an update next ish!

The Galoob  Micro  Machines  range  will  be  extended  further.  The
original three sets, one from Classic  Trek,  one from the movies nad
the one Next Gen (with the Enterprise-D has replaced the Borg vessel)
will continue in new packaging, along  with  the two new sets already
available everywhere (Tescos is cheapest at  only £3.99 a set). These
are the DS9 set (DS9, Runabout  and  Cardassian Warship) and a second
Next Gen set  (Borg  ship,  Ferengi  Marauder  and shuttlecraft). BUT
there is a  new  collector  set  at  around  £25  with  all the ships
mentioned  above  BUT  ALSO,  exclusive   to  this  set,  the  U.S.S.
ENTERPRISE NCC 1701-A!

Finally Geometrics figure kits are  continuuing with Locutus of Borg,
A Female Romulan (Sela probably),  Gowron the Klingon leader, another
Borg, a Ferengi, Guinan  and  Beverly  Crusher!  The  price should be
around £35-40
