TF01 3,THE STARFLEET 4,by Sven Harvey The Starfleet --------------- A Guide to the Starships of the United Federation Of Planets -------------------------------------------------------------- by Sven Harvey ---------------- This is a complete list of every starship that I have come across in the Star Trek scenario. I have ignored the FASA Star Trek role playing game and the listed ships in the Star Trek Technical Manual as basically they got everything wrong and in both cases they are just lists. This may mean that including them here would infringe their copyright. A lot of people tend to disregard any ships that have not actually made an appearance or mentioned in one of the t.v. episodes or films which is why I have included the source. Those shown with first appearance as "presumed" are the starships which were first off the production line when a class of ship is created. According to Starfleet tradition the name of the first ship off the production line is the name of the class of starship, e.g. U.S.S. Excelsior was the first Excelsior class starship, U.S.S. Galaxy was the first Galaxy class starship etc. etc. In each case I have listed the ships name and all the known vessels to bear the name by registry number (NCC-???) as well as ship class, type and commanding officer where known plus the first episode or book etc that the ship appeared in. Finally each entry includes any relevant information to the ship herself and the Star Trek scenario. Stardates are mentioned where possible, but it must be noted that during the original series these were just made up and will not be in order. It is assumed however that the episode were in chronological order, with "The Corbomite Maneuver" as the first episode of the first season and "Turnabout Intruder" is the last episode of season three. As far as the chronological order of the animated series is concerned, your guess is as good as mine. Stardates for Star Trek: The Next Generation do follow the chronological order of production with the start of "Encounter at Farpoint" occuring on stardate 41153.7. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine uses the same system as The Next Generation and is thus in chronological order. I hope to update this list at later dates so if you think I have left a ship out please contact me either by dropping a line to the Infinite Frontiers PO Box number or at any of the TFF live events! -------------------------- U.S.S. Originally only six Galaxy class starships were in service with another six spaceframes held in storage for emergency construction. The destruction of the U.S.S. Yamato resulted in only 5 being active. It is likely that one more Galaxy class starship was activated to replace her. It is also likely that the remaining 5 spaceframes were activated after the Enterprises encounter with the Borg vessel at the J25 solar system, ready for when the Borg attacked. It is therefore reasonable to suggest that these ships may have been destroyed at Wolf 359, stardate 43997 (2367). U.S.S. Daedalus --------------- NCC-???
