	Burning  Rubber  has  been  a  very  delayed  game  as it was first
mentioned  a  long  time ago under the name of Hot Hatches.  But now it has
been  released...much  to my delight as I have been looking forward to this
one.  Although I must say it isn`t quite what I expected.

	The  game  plot is this, you must pick one of the vehicles in which
you  can  drive all over Europe and The United States of America.  The cars
you  can pick consist of a Fiesta R.S.  1800, A Renault 5 Turbo, A Vauxhall
Astra  GSI, a Peugeot 205 GTI, A Golf GTI and a Nissan Sunny GTI.  Once you
have  made your selection you are then treated to some music to go with the
place  you  are going i.e.  Bagpipes for Scotland which is where you start.
You can also choose your route through to the finishing post, i.e.  you can
either choose a shorter lots-of-bends type route or a longer-but-straighter
route.  Once your selection has been made it`s time to race!!!.
	
	Graphically  Burning  Rubber  isn`t  that  bad with the main sprite
actually  looking  like the car you choose.  I've read the magazine reviews
for  Burning  Rubber  and feel they were very harsh.  Okay so it could have
been  better  but  it has some good points.  Once your used to the controls
the car is easy enough to drive and the difficulty level is set just right.
After  each  race you go into a garage with a young lady behind the counter
who is willing to serve you with goods to upgrade your car with nitros, new
exhaust systems, tyres etc.

	The game also has some nice music by The Utah Saints which is a mix
of Rave music and Rock music.  There are two separate racing disks one with
the  Europe  tracks on it and the other disk has the USA tracks on it.  The
European  destinations include Scotland, London, Holland, France, Barcelona
and  a few more and the American destinations are New York, Washington Etc.
You  lose  the  game once your damage indicator reaches 100% but you have 3
credits  in  which  to  get  through  the game.  I got through the European
Scenario  with just one credit using the Peugeot 205 GTI.  Then you fly off
to America where you`ll have to drive an American car such as the Chevrolet
Camaro, Corvette, Firebird plus many others.  Unfortunately though once you
run out of credits in America you have to go back to Europe to complete all
of  the courses again.  Which I feel is a bit unfair, because I didn`t feel
like doing all the European courses again so I could get back to America to
race their sports cars!!.

	I`m  trying  very  hard  to  hate  this  game because it seems like
everyone  else  does  but  I find myself actually liking it.  I don`t know,
maybe  it`s  the  idea  of driving through the countries outrunning smokeys
(police officers) which grabs my attention it most probably is but it`s not
the  worst game ever.  This is a classic example of try before you buy, but
make sure you play it long enough because it gets better as you play it....


Summary
 
Burning  Rubber  isn`t a brilliant game but it`s certainly not a bad one.
