TITLE : BUBBA "N" STIX TYPE : PLATFORM REVIEWED : /\/\ANTIS DATE : 8th of Feb 1994. Core Design Ltd. are my favourite software company so I was well pleased to see Bubba n Stix finally hit the shelves ! The great thing about Core is their imagination, I mean what kind of person develops a game where one of the main characters is a stick !!??. I first fell in love with Core when they released the excellent Heimdall. I'm really looking forward to doing reviews for 3 of there yet to be released games, Heimdall II, Darkmere and Skeleton Krew. Anyway back to the game in hand!. Bubba "N" Stix is an arcade adventure with a touch of puzzling!. The graphics are top cartoon quality and the animation is so slick, it practically slips of the screen. As with most Core games, it's also very addictive and lots of fun to play!. The idea of the game is to work your way through 5 stages of platforming fun. You start the game in the forest where you have to overcome, many devious puzzles. You have to use your stick to gain access to higher levels. The stick is also your only means of killing enemy sprites, so use it wisely!. The game is very colourful, and it has lots of amusing features and bonus levels. I especially like the way stix flies through the air, spins, and comes back like a boomerang!. There are lots of nice little added sounds and of course music, which are also very pleasant. There really isn't an awful lot to say about this game, you really do have to have to own it to appreciate it...... Summary Very pretty arcade game, with beautiful graphics and lovely added features. It's nice to look at, great to play, and very originally addictive. Buy it now ! Graphics - 92% Sound - 80% Playability - 85% Lastability - 90% Overall - 90%
