But, like many diskmags, after a few issues (four to be exact) it disappeared from the scene. But, instead of vanishing forever it was to be immortalised in the form of a paper mag. @7 -*+*-@1 The first issue of the ZX Files contains 32 pages and is A5 sized. Furthermore it is produced entirely on an Amiga. The first thing that hits you about this mag is the professionalism with which the magazine is put together. It is obvious from only a quick flick through the mag that a lot of time and effort has gone into creating it. The balance between the amount of text and pictures, to the actual layout of the pages makes the ZX Files look better than a lot of commercial computer mags out there. But what about the actual contents? Well, for a start there's previews of Legacy Of The Zer Empire and Jet Set Willy '96. Two major games set to hit the Speccy scene in the near future. There's also a couple of review of two new, unofficial, Dizzy games and an interview with various members of the Speccy community. As would be expected, there's the obligatory hints and tips section and also an in-depth lowdown on the ZXAM emulator. Taking a leap into the weird is the article explaining how the Spectrum originated from alien technology. Err... you're gonna have to read it yourself! Following on from that is an extensive tips section for the classic adventure game - The Hobbit. There's a nostalgic lookback at Ghosts'n'Goblins and the mag ends with a PD section. Overall, the ZX Files is a well-produced Speccy fanzine that I would recommend to anyone.
