Probably  the  most  famous wrestler the WWF produced, Hulk Hogan (who`s
real  name  is  Terry Bollea) shot to stardom while wrestling in 1985 at
the very first Wrestlemania.

Hulk stands at 6`6 and lives at Venice Beach, California, at high school
in  Tampa  Florida he had the nickname Whitey, how the hulkster got into
wrestling  has  been  kept  a  secret,  but  he  says that one day a old
wrestler  called  Jerry  Brisco  saw  him  working  out  in  the gym and
suggested he try wrestling.

Hulk  was  trained  by  Hiro  Matsuda  in  Florida and made his debut in
Georgia  working  under  the name `Terry the Hulk Boulder`.  After a few
months he moved to Tenessee where he was called `Sterling Golden`.

Wrestling  manager  classy Freddie Blassie then brought him into the WWF
in  1979, where he became known as Hulk Hogan, because of his height and
size, Hulk first wrestled as a villan.

After  a  short stay in the WWF, Hogan journeyed to the AWA promotion in
the mid west where he was managed by Luscious Johnny Valiant, who turned
out  to  be  another  bad  influence on Hulk, even though he was still a
villain  he  won  all  the matches and went to the orient where he was a
huge success in Japan.

Back in the U.S he was called to act as the wrestler Thunder Lips in Sly
Stallones  movies  Rocky  3, little did Hogan know that this was his big
break, and later would be starring in his own movies!

Hogans chance at a title came when he returned to the WWF on January 23,
1984  in  Madison Square Garden, New York to fight the Iron Sheik, where
he  defeated  him  in less than seven minutes.  With Hogan now a hero,he
used  his fame to teach kids to stay in school, say your prayers and eat
your vitamins.

Many  bad guys have challenged the Hulkster, at Wrestlemania 2 he teamed
up  with  TV  Star  Mr T to take on Rowdy Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff,
then  King Kong Bundy and most memorable Andre the Giant in Wrestlemania
3,  it  was a year later when he lost the title to Andre at Wrestlemania
4, but it later turned out that Ted Dibiase payed off the ref to cheat.

Now  in  1995 Hulk has moved to WCW (World Championship Wrestling) where
he  won  the  title  there,he has been featured on British TV programmes
like Johnothan Ross and Des o'Connor where he admited that wrestling was
fixed,  he  also  appeared  in  the US series Lifestyles of the Rich and
Famous,had a cameo role in Gremlins 2, made the films Suburban Commando,
Mr Nanny and the TV series Thunder in Paradise.

Hulk  Hogan  is  married to Linda and has two children, he`s also made a
song where he and his wife sing, but it didn`t go down all that well.

For me I don`t miss him - i feel sorry that he was ripped off by the WWF
for  underpaying  him but in my opinion he wasn`t very good at wrestling
(I  could beat him) the problem was that he was always in the main event
in  every  card  and  always  won, his moves were predictable and always
bragged for ages when he won (I really hated that).

Its  estimated  that he got paid a million dollars for one match at WCW,
but  refused  to  fight a guy called Big Van Vader because he was afraid
he`d get hurt!

Which  ever  way  you  look at it Hulk Hogan is famous and rich and will
probably  stay  in wrestling for a few more years (he`s about 44 now) so
good luck to the guy!
