91Remember the film bWargames9?  That film
was done by Lawrence Lasker and Walter
F.   Parkes.   It  was  when these two
guys  did  some  research for Wargames
that  they  got  really  interested in
computers  and  hacking.   An interest
that  now  has  lead  to  yet  another
thriller  about  the  vournability  of
computer     technology     and    the
possibilities in the hackerworld.

The story in cSneakers 9is about a group
of   elderly   hackers  who  has  made
hacking  into a fulltime job.  The are
paid  by  a company to test the safety
of the company.  They bug offices, bug
telephones,      breaks      in     to
computersystems,  move  money  between
different   accounts   and   videofilm
secret  meetings.   And  they get well
paid!  For them there are no secrets!

The  team  consists  of  the following
persons:

c- 9Martin   Bishop,  played  by  Robert
  Redford  (!)  He started his hacking
  carrier  in the 60's by moving money
  from   the   presidents  account  to
  revolutionary groups.

c- 919 year old Carl who is the youngest
  in the team.  He used to brake in to
  the  school's computer to change his
  grades.

c- 9Whistler, who is a blind soundexpert
  who  started  his carrier by calling
  all  around  the world free with the
  help of a little whistle.

c- 9Crease,   a   CIA   veteran  who  is
  specialised in bugging.

c- 9Mother,  who has been in jail for 18
  month   because   he  broke  into  a
  system.   He's the bugging-equipment
  store's favourite customer.

Together  these  guys  form  a team of
very qualified "Sneakers".

              fTHE STORY

9It  all  begins when bMartin Bishop 9and
his friend called dCosmo 9are sitting in
the  university's computer room in the
middle of the 60's.  They are secretly
moving  money  between  accounts.  But
they  get  caught  by  the  police and
Cosmo goes to jail while Martin Bishop
gets  away.   Cosmo  dies  in jail but
Martin  has  20  years  later become a
professional  sneaker  surrounded by a
team of experts.  One day the group is
visited  by  two  men who say they are
from   the  National  Security  Agency
(NSA).  They want help from Martin and
his   team   to   steal   a   ROM-chip
containing   a   special  program  for
debugging.   With this program you can
break in to all computersystems in the
world.  This mission is quite easy for
the  team,  and  soon they can deliver
c"the black box" 9to the two NSA agents.

But  then it turnes out that they have
been fooled!

I  haven't seen this movie myself yet,
but  I've  read about it in some mags.
I think the movie should be out on the
cinemas when you're reading this.×
