0¶3 5LETTER FROM READER 91Dear Eternal! Thanks for presenting the members of the scene with the stunning first issue of Eternal. It really proved that there still are chances for new diskmagazines. I'd like to point some things out though, perhaps you will take it as an advice, perhaps you will ignore it: it's up to you... First of all, the magazine is produced by three different groups. Is that really necessary? I mean, in the past we have seen that multi-group mags were not supported that well. Just take a look at the old 4th Dimension, the old Stolen Data (the new one is excellent, though), or in the earlier history DISC or CrackerJournal. I don't know what the attitude of people is towards mags that are produced by several groups. perhaps they think it's too chaotic, or that it won't survive? Who knows... Could this be a good question for someone stufying mass-psychology?? Secondly, there weren't so much articles in the first issue. I can understand that! It's a problem that all mags have to face when releasing a first issue. And when the code is finished and running well, you simply want to release it instead of waiting one month more (giving you perhaps more articles, but risking that the 9up-to-date-ness (what a word) is lost, which is especially the case with the news-section). But it would be much better if all mags didn't release their first issue until they really have a big amount of quality work. Anyway, quality work is hard to get these days... Still, there were a lot of very small articles in the mag, articles of only half a page, or something. Is that really necessary for a mag? I mean, that way it looks more like a messagebox than an adult mag... Thirdly: there were a lot of topics about normal life, that is to say, the 'about-life' section (let's name it like that) was the biggest by far. This is something I like very much, of course, because I feel that a diskmag shouldn't only be focussed on scene-life, but give the readers a bit of politics, economy and cultural happenings as well, while it's at it anyway. It will make people think about it, at least. Well, you have to ask yourself: what is the use of a list that continues for some 4-6 pages and deals with names of motorbikes that nobody is really interested in? It would be the same as typing in the phone-book of Istanbul, don't you agree? No doubt there are people who like this, but there's a majority of people that don't and since you are no motor-mag, you should let the majority win. Better release one article less than releasing an article like that. No hard feelings to the writer, his work might be brilliant, but it's not exactly what we have all been waiting for... 9I hope you don't take these criticisms too hard, every mag needs to grow, and we can't all be famous at once (like RAW, the only exception). Hope you will continue your great job and keep on releasing Eternal steadily... It caused us a lot of problems. Kris, Bloody and me (Orion) decided to release this mag. Then we told our friends about our idea and they wanted to contribute to Eternal with making the code and the music. We said OK. After the release of the first issue we decided to turn Eternal to a Rebels production. Then we had to get a new mag-routine but there was no organization in Rebels as they were about to die... Then we joined Movement and our bad luck followed us. A guy who promised us to make the code has gone to the army without completing the code and this fact made us wait for months. Then, we decided to leave Movement in a friendly way and to do our best to be able to release this second issue. Now we are two. Kris and me (Orion). Of course with the music of WOTW/Essence and the moral support of our great friend Bloody who is in the army now. Enough about that. 2. About the articles. You say that there are half-page articles and that we shouldn't publish them. I think you're wrong. If someone wrote something to contribute to our mag we have to publish it (exception: if the article has a subject like pofuduk/zebaniler is a lamer or something like that). The reason is that he worked for it and spent his time. So, I think that we have better to publish every article than throwing the time of the writer to a trashcan. 3. Right! It's surely not a motor mag. But it took me hours to write it and there were some guys who were interested in it. From now on, I send them the photocopies of those lists to the interested people. So, you won't see the continuation of this article in Eternal, anymore. I feel like I must say that it's impossible to please everybody with every article. For example the article about the Doors in Eternal 1. I don't think that there were more than the 10% of the scene who was interested in it. It was just an example. Me, personally I liked it very much as I'm a fan of the Doors. As we said in the Editorial of the 1st issue it's a mag for everybody. Each and every article will find a reader surely.
