                       You all know that feeling.

            That feeling that you get after you've spent a good few hours
            copying disks and writing letters to people you've never met,
            spoken  or  written  to before, having spent lots of money on
            stamps,  when  you KNOW some of the jiffies you are preparing
            are  going  to  be  a  complete and utter waste of time.  The
feeling I'm talking about is the feeling you get when you are waiting for
a reply from the people you sent your jiffies to.  They said "100% reply"
and  other  cliches  associated with adverts.  There will be some in this
magazine  that will say "100% RePlY t0 aNy d00dz!!!!!!!!" or maybe not as
stupid  as that, but they will sure enough think "can I really be ARSED?"
and keep your fucking disks.

Ok,  I  know  that the Post Office has been known to lose a few jiffies,
but not as many as that!  I refuse to believe that the post office loses
that  many  jiffies.   I've been swapping since july 94, and I have only
ever  known  of one or two cases where I know for definite that the post
office has lost a jiffy.  So is it a coincidence that, say, five jiffies
get lost at the same time?  Not likely.

Yes,  that's  right.   I'm  pissed  off,  very,  very pissed off.  I can
understand  it  when  people  get  annoyed  about  disk  thieves or lazy
bastards.   Don't  put your fucking advert in if you can't cope with the
response  you might get.  Write off to some adverts instead!  I got most
of  my  contacts  by  ME  writing off to THEM after seeing THEIR advert.
Making  your  own advert is the easy way into swapping.  So, you may ask
yourself,  "Why  the  hell  has he put an advert in a mag then?" Well, I
write  off  to  people  as  well.   You realise you could get a lot more
contacts  by  actually writing off yourself instead of making an advert?
I  know that is what a lot of people do.  Do it both ways, use an advert
or  two here and there, and you will have contax-a-plenty (probably).  I
will  reply  to  ANY  letter  I  get sent, whether it is a long or short
letter,  with  or  without disks enclosed, because I know how very, very
pissed off people get when the swappers they write to don't reply.
