|1-What NOT to write for any diskmags By Mike / Quantum Incorporated Yeh, yeh, yeh, you don't half get a load of SHITE in some diskmags. If I've offended anyone in any way in this article, then I'm sorry, but this is my Point of view. Personally, the subjects I don't want to be covered in any mags are: |1-1: Smileys. ^13^^40 Stupid arses! Have you smiley authors not grasped the concept of how smileys are meant to be used? They are meant to be used to express moods + feelings, such as :-) means the previous statement was said in a happy or funny way, and :-( means in a sad way. I mean, WHEN ON THIS EARTH are you going to use smileys such as [:-) - smiley with a walkman (ha! how funny.), and *-) - one-eyed smiley. There are only a few smileys in actual use, I think you'll find. They are: :-) :-( ;-) - Happy, sad and winking (suggestiveness/innuendo) SO STOP MAKING THIS SHITE! |1-2: Amiga v PC/Mac/Falcon etc... Oh, god you childish arseholes! Will you never shut up? Who REALLY gives a fuck whether which computer is better? They all have their advantages + disadvantages, so stop whining on. It's like being in a fucking playground listening to all you little whining children moaning on. Why not have an argument over who's dad can beat up someone else's dad? Or who's got a bigger car? This argument is futile. Personally, I find MSDOS easier to use than Amiga shell, but that's just my POV. (point of view). They are pieces of machinery for gods sake! Lumps of plastic and metal! Have you ever actually thought about the logicality of that argument? You don't have arguments with people about who's TV or video works better do you? Sheesh! ^12^^350 |1-"Good Evening |1-Everybody" |1-3: "Top ten" lists I'm prepared to make an exception if these are funny, but 99% of the time, they are boring as hell, and just go to prove that the author leads an incredibly dull life. I suppose you think I'm being slightly hypocritical here; I have written a list of things that bore me. Not true, because this is actually RELEVANT to the magazine. |1-4: Boring and tedious facts You know what I mean, those lists that tell you things like "An American aircraft in Vietnam shot itself down with one of its own missiles" or "Adolf Hitler's cook was Jewish" and so on. Boooooooooring! So, looking at all of these, What do you think? I'm sure almost everyone has written about, or thought about writing one of these, but, please don't sent them to TW. They're crap. I bet we have some of the above subjects in this issue. Personally, I'd rather TW be smaller and more interesting, because, it's not the quantity, It's the quality that counts.
