have you ever heard about other scenes
than the amiga scene ? yes,ofcourse,
theC64^sceneAis quite big as well. but
the rest? 

there are some other scenes however,but
most of them are quite lame compared to
the scene on the amiga. sometimes this
is caused by a lack of software,but also
becuase the scene question is still
growing.

                    let's give a couple 
                    of examples of other 
                    scenes. 
                    the most obvious is 
                    theCst sceneAi think 
                    but unfortunately 
                    for those who 
                    operate there,this 
                    scene is absolutely 
                    nothing. there are 
                    some crews hacking 
                    software and so on,
                    but no real scene 
                    like on the amiga. 
i wonder why, because there are also a 
big deal of st^games (less than on the 
amiga, ok, but nevertheless) and the 
copyprotection on the average st^game is 
not more difficult to hack than on 
the amiga.

theCpc^scene.Ain america,where the pc's
are sold as home^computers,gametoys,
there is quite a big software^industry.
this means hacking. there is some kind
of a pc^scene in america,but there's
also some kind of an amiga scene in the
states. most of those crews run boards
to ensure the spreading to europe: on
the amiga most european groups run
boards in the states because it's safer
there.

the pc^scene in the european countries
is also quite lame. there are some
boards but they not only offer you the
newest games,but also games that are
some months old. only because there is
no such thing as credits and real
uploading and downloading. on the pc,
a sysop has to rule his own board all
by him self, there's no such thing as
a check if the guy who is downloading
is a lamer (becuase of the lack of the
credits system,as told before) and
the overall quality of the goods that
are offered is very poor.

on the pc there's a quartex^style of
cracking (only text). not because the
crackers can not code an intro,but
only becuase coding an intro on the pc
is such a hell of a job. have you ever
seen an intro of 6mb ? normal case on
the pc and it's not astonishing,either.

then we have the scene on other machines
forget them,they are not worth to tell
about. the only important scene at the
moment is the amiga scene.

in the near future,the pc^scene will
become bigger and bigger. it will not
go that fast because still a lot of
people can't afford the necessary vga^
card and the sound^expansion kit yet,
but it will come. i don't think it will
ever grow as big as the amiga scene now
is.
