JE#Hello World!aders List £À É¤É¡Ï Hello World! ¤À ¢É Êby Ace of Damian ¢Ç ÁWhen Friendly and me were philosophing once again, we thought about a fact that really makes me still think about it. What`s up with the scene in the rest of the world if there is one? We don`t hear many things about the USA for example. The best and biggest boards are stationed in the USA, but what`s up with the rest of scene? Since I was a swapper I only got 2 or 3 little Intros from the USA (Well, it might have been some more, but I don`t recognize them anymore).  Í- Á Do they also release Trackmos (I think they of course do)  Å- Á How good are they? Better than Europe?  Í- Á Do they release Mags? How good are they? What kind of Articles do they write? Is there a big scene? How many groups are really good, like Sanity or Silents for example?  Å- Á Do Groups exist, which aren`t also stationed in Europe?  Í- Á Or does only a Modem-Scene exist? I could write many more questions, but I think it`s enough. Maybe I`m blind and don`t see what`s goin on, but I`m no Modemtrader who`s phreaking on american boards all the time. Maybe these guys know the answers to my questions. It would be very nice if an american guy who reads this article would send me some infos or write a little article what`s goin on (of course it mustn`t be an american, everyone who knows about this should write something if he had the time.)  Æ[Just look at the PAL productions coming from Europe. Most of them don`t run correctly on the american machines. And considering that hardware and especially modems are very cheap there, it`s no surprise that so much BBS`s are located in the States. It`s the only source for getting new productions, mail trading is practically non existing. There are practically no scene groups, which are without help from the Europeans. I think the USA is a good example for demonstrating how the scene dies when there are only modems and no personal contact with each other. -ed] Á ¡Î¤Áend. JE$Open Letter To The GFX-Twins!§ìÀ £À ÊFuck You Gfx-Twins... ¢É Éby Ace of Damian ¨ ¢Ç ÁHello Lamers! I`ve received your letter a long time ago. Since I had a swapping-break the time you wrote, I didn`t write back. A few weeks after that I received one issue of the  Åpackseries by Mr.King of Analog Á. What did I have to read!?! Some lamers talking bad about me, calling me a diskstealer and something like that. I only could laugh because I didn`t remember at first who you are, maybe because you are not worth to be remembered? I pulled out your begging-sheet out of my box of unanswered contact letters. When I read it again, I also had to laugh. You were begging that your addy should appear in the next Jungle and you wanted to be interviewed, to become more famous.  ÊWhat do you think THE JUNGLE is? A "Make me well known and important mag?"  ÁYou also sent some GFX, I think, but hmmm, I think they weren`t good. In the message to me you wrote that I wouldn`t write back to everyone, as I remember. That`s not true, because I sort between cool guys and not so good ones. (I don`t want to call them lamers, because some of them were really nice, and lamers are only people who think they are cool when they aren`t!) Another reason why I didn`t write back is because I didn`t see any reason of writing back. You only sent me one disk with some GFX and an advert, but there was  Énothing like a swapping-offer Á in it. Many people just write to send some news or to get their advert in our mag. So it seemed the same with you. I also don`t see any reason for writing back NOW, because of your LAME message to me. Something more to say? No, only, that you should stop spreading rumours and maybe send an answer, if you`ve got something to say about this! ¤Á¡Î Áend. JE%Some Words About The R.A.W - ZINE War§ìÀ ¢Á¡Ê¤Ç ¤À £À ÍRAW GETTING LIKE ZINE? ¤Ç¡Ê¢Á ¤À ¢É Éby BliTTeR ¨ ¢Ç ÁThe new  Íconflict between the R.A.W stuff and the former producers of the legendary ZINE Á is in fact not a new one. The marks in Brainstorm`s Musicland were just the beginning of a new fight between them. Long before there were some messages, anti-greetings and stuff like that...But nobody found it worth for writing an article. Just the latest attacks from OLI made the affair enlarge. The former ZINE stuff claims to have had the best mag ever made and that nobody will reach the standard of this mag, not even R.A.W, which just would be a cheap and shitty clone of ZINE. Sure, such words aren`t liked by the producers of R.A.W, and they have had to react - and they did it.  ÅSome articles in issue #5 were the answer... ÁI, as a not-involved person, have to say that R.A.W is in no way interested in solving the problem! No, they reattack ZINE. In the way R.A.W expresses the things they have exactly the same problem as ZINE - the arrogancy.  ÇIt seems that this conflict is very childish... ÁR.A.W means they are better, ZINE says that R.A.W is shit and that they are the best...but nobody is thinking of solving this thing. It`s going like in real life. People fighting for nothing and nothing, but just to see the other one as a looser. Zine started some years ago with the aim to produce a very good mag for the scene and to have fun, but the years go by...the people behind the productions are getting older and older, get adults and their minds and thoughts are changing! It seems that both, R.A.W and ZINE don`t produce or have produced their diskmag just for fun, but for a adult`s aim: Power and influence. On the other side I think it`s very simple to say we are the best, but you can`t jugde yourself. The people that made you be on the top of the charts are the readers and nobody else! Therefore it`s just too stupid that both mags fight in such a way against each other.  ÅR.A.W has the big advantage, that they are still active Á and are able to write bad things about ZINE, without giving OLI & Co. the chance to make things clear. The only way to be topic number one is to be agressive and direct! Would anybody care about ZINE nowadays, if some guys wouldn`t start fighting just for a bowl of fresh air? Certainly, no. As I see the things, there are three possiblities to continue this story.  Ê¢ÁÊo Á¢Ç The first one is that the will continue fighting against each other as stupid as it`s at the moment  Í¢Áo¢Ç Á One of the guys gives up, but that`s really unrealistic, because certainly nobody wants to be called Mag #2  Ï¢Áo Á¢Ç Brainstorm will release another issue of ZINE - then the ZINE-staff is really able to compete against R.A.W. In this case the whole scene will select it`s winner...and nobody of the two fighting teams will be able to call them number one, because we all judge whether somethings is good or not. If I hear guys like OLI say that Zine WAS the top mag, I`ll admit that they`re probably right, but  Åit WAS and ISN`T ANYMORE! Á Time doesn`t stand still and only the NOW counts! Why should we care for something that WAS long time ago? It has no sense to cry, because ZINE isn`t anymore. At the moment the scene is in the position to have judged R.A.W as one of some top mags. But they have to act right now! If they go the way ZINE did, they will pop up in some month or years just the same as ZINE did - arrogant. If they continue working FOR the scene without any shitty reasons like POWER, they will go, no doubt, the right way. Why has there always to be a leader??? Together, not apart! ¡Î¤Áend. JE&Fight Racism - Fight Resistance! §ìÀ £À  Ç Fight Racism-Fight Resistance!  Ä ¢Ç by Ace of Damian ¨ Á As I recieved the article called "Whites are better..." by a guy from Resistance I firstly couldn`t believe my eyes. There are still people (?) in Scene who believe that whites are better than Blacks. These guys should take a look at the cool message by Alcatraz in their  ÉSTOP FASCISM Á-Intro! The Group is soooo LAME if they didn`t check that the scene is based on international friendship. Why do I take about whole the Group? Take a look into the news. What do we find? They are going to release À ¡Á¤ÁPROUD TO BE WHITE Á¤À soon! (Are they mad?!?) They kicked one swapper because he had an turkish Contact!?! Wingman is their new leader since (!)  ÊADOLF Á (!) was arrested... The only things I can say about these stupid guys is that they are just jealous because the Blacks are at least as good as they are... Here`s a little Example. My step-father is a black. He came from India about 12 or 13 years ago. Within the first time in Germany he studied German, English and French and he also knows to speak Spanish, Italian, a bit Danish andof course the two major- languages of India. He wrote a book last year which was of course also published. Now, I wanna see any of the guys from Resistance doin as well as my step father. The only thing they`ll reach in life is to work as a trash-man! HA HA HA... Jops, that`s a litte example to make you think of the shit you`re talking. Only if you`re able to think of course! Hey Wingman! In your text you wrote something about Heil Hitler! Didn`t you know that he failed "cleaning the world"? Of course you knew! So you`re shouting for a dead LOOSER. Why? Because you`re also a LOOSER!  ÃWE PISS ON YOU!!! Á ¡Î¤Áend. JE'Pacman Rulesœ§ìÀ £À  Ä PacMan Rules  É ¢Çby Ace of Damian  Á¨ Jops, another of the "when I started modemtrading..."-articles? Yes. When I called the first time (a Board running on Fastcall-read the "Are PD-Boards lame?"-article by Ace), I realized that there were still the old goodies on the Board, which we still know from our Ê C=64 Á-time or maybe earlier. All the nice games like PacMan, Frogger, Poing, Asteroids or any other thing you can remember. The only thing that`s changed is the name, because of copyrights, TMs, and all that crap. PacMan renamed to Minipac, Frogger to Croak,... First I looked a bit strange, because these programs were PD. I`ve never seen any good PD (except Demos), so I wanted to test these old games and maybe think about old times and play some PacMan. I leeched the programs (hehe, MiniPac is only about 10 K long!), and started to depack them. When I was finished I couldn`t stand it anymore and had to test these games. I was really surprised, that it was really funny to play these old (the first) sort of games. It was real fun to make a little ball eat many drops or sometimes ghosts, or to save frogs from beeing smashed under a car or any other sort of death. The feeling is unbelievable, when you see these games appearing on your screen again. I think I played for hours and hours. You can totally  Éforget  Ábig cracked games when you see these oldies. You`ll have to wait for about 10 seconds to play, you can put many games on one disk. Nothing like 10 disx, that have to be changed every 2 minutes. You don`t see them crashing down, which can happen with these bad-quality cracks. I really enjoyed this trip back to good old times, and also Friendly can`t sleep without playing poing at least once a day. If you also want the good times to come up again, then write a nice letter to me (Ace) and I`ll send you a disk with these oldies. ¡Î¤Áend. JE-Scoopex Party Reportewown Out From A ShopÒ§ìÀ £À  ÉScoopex CeBIT-Party - What a joke!  Ä ¢Çby Ace of Damian ¨ Á As in every mag you get reports about this party and that party... Almost everytime you can read how great these parties were. Now I gotta tell you about the CeBIT`93- Party by Scoopex. It was really a joke. I think there was no one who liked the party. I only heard opinions like "...SHIT PARTY!" or "NEVER AGAIN TO A PARTY FROM SCX!". Might sound hard now, but let me tell you how it began. When Friendly, Duke, Mattrax and me (Ace) arrived in Hannover where the Ê CeBIT  Áwas held, everything was fine. We of course went to the Commodore-Place at first because I wanted to meet some friends and contacts over there. Mattrax had a piece of paper, where the Titlepic of the Jungle 2 was printed on, which we released on the party. (Not the pic, The Jungle!). We wrote our contact-addys below the text and went to Canon, where a nice Lady copied it for us 200times. We used the sheets to advertise the second mag, and some guys already asked us for a copy of it. When we arrived at the Commodore-Place, everything where the scene-guys tagged their names the years before was hung with many posters telling us about the  Æ"No Tags-I Didn`t Do It!"- Party Á by Skid Row, Masque and Scoopex, sponsored by Commodore. The guys from these groups gave T-Shirts, with the same pic as the poster to almost everyone, and later the invitations were spread. Somewhen on the day I talked to a guy from Commodore. He told me that his firm is going to concentrate their eyes on the scene from now on because when we would sell our Amigas they wouldn`t be a nice firm with much money any longer. You can maybe read an article about Commodores Scene-activities in the next issue of The Jungle.. About the party: When we arrived at the party-place(an old factory-building?) the doors were still shut for guys who were not in Scoopex. They were still building up the equipment. The scene-guys were pumped into 2 rooms, were they built up their computers, as we did. We only had Mattraxs old black`n white- TV with us so Friendly drew his masterpiece for the competition on another machine. I spread  ÊThe  ÊJungle Á, and many guys liked it. By the way, Friendly`s pic for the competition is the titlepic of this issue (Does it look like it was scanned? Many guys asked if it was, (!)while he finished the top half of the pic!?! (Buy yourself some glasses!). At the party there were about 100-200 people. Not many, but some nice ones were there! Here are some groups I remember:DaMiAn(of course!), Panic, TRSI, Vanish, TSB, Scoopex, Skid Row, Masque, Polaris, Mexx, Sanity, Animators, Interactive, Razor 1911, Agnostic Front, The Silents, Subzero, Paradise, Desert, TDD, Infect, Alpha Flight, Cult, X-Trade, Essence, Eskimos, Nuance, Comedy, Analog, TEK, and some other which I don`t remember or which are not worth to be remembered... The competitions were also a  Ébig fake Á. Here are the results: Intro-competition: 1st Place for Alcatraz (the intro was very good!), no 2nd or 3rd place, coz the other intros which were given to them should have been really shitty, a guy from Scoopex said (I guess so you have some more money, hmmm?!). The Demo-Compo went like this: 1st place for U.D.O., who only won because of their name (Unsere Doofen Ossis). The second place was grabbed by TRSI, for the real cool "Mysery-Dentro 2". Good work! Also the third place was a really good one. The price went to Sanity for "Terminal Fuckup", the second part of "Optimum Fuckup". Following up is the GFX-competition: The first place went to Fade 1 of TRSI, the second to Angel Dawn of the Silents and the third one jumped to Navy/ ex-Vanish. I can`t judge the grafix, because I didn`t see them. The same with the Sounds. I also didn`t see them! (HA!). They went like this: The first one was kicked by Microforce of Sanity (yes, the coder!), 2nd one was caught by Romeo Knight of TRSI and the 3rd one was taken by HMC of Alcatraz. Some of the results are ok, but there are also some questionable ones like the Demo- and Introcompetition. The Scoopex-guys were only in the little Cafe under the rooms where most of the people were, so they didn`t even hear what was said about them... The Competitions, were also really good, because they were judged by Scoopex, not by the publicity. When they showed the stuff, most of the guys didn`t see anything, because the screen was much too  Äsmall  Áand there were abou 20 or 30 people standing in front of it, so that the rest waited, until they got the stuff later that night. Another funny thing was that you could ask the organizers almost everything, they didn`t knew anything. I often asked Psycho Demon, who I know really long, some things but he only looked to me like a sleeping car or a dog that smoked around 2 kg of hash, and said "hmm?-don`t know!". But there were also guys who knew things and were friendly and awake like Trade or Link of SCX. Another joke is, that the party was in the  ÌEuropean Top 20 Á by Equinox, even before it was held. Still one to come:On the Invitation they wrote that this should be the biggest or best party, ever held in Germany... All in all I gotta say that the party wasn`t really good. With the sponsorship of Commodore, I think everyone expected a bit more (at least a big screen!). The only fun was it to meet Contacts and friends or find some new. Well, the last two CeBIT-Parties weren`t good, let`s see, what will happen in March 1994, when the next CeBIT will take place in Hannover! ¡Î¤Áend. JE.Talented But Not Famousown Out From A ShopÚ§ìÀ £À  Æ Talented But Not Famous  É ¢Çby Friendly/Damian ¨ Á So you think that you are talented and good enough to show the puplic what you can? A lot of scenefreaks in small groups are talented, but of course productions of that groups are not very well spread, if there are any. To get known you can surely write to some 'cool' groups and ask them for joining, and if you are good enough you will be accepted and maybe you get famous. But in many cases in the small groups is much more friendship, because there are not many members, or because all members live near together, maybe in the same town. In the big crews you are just one among many people who are very good and it is not so easy to be in good  Äfriendship Á with everyone. So it is a hard decision to join a big group, a decision which mustn't be made. There are so many ways to release work of yours! The easiest way to do this is to make music or grafics for famous diskmags by other groups. If you are really good the diskmag-editors won't refuse you in most cases! For coders it is harder to find something they can do for other groups. In that case you should visit some parties and make some friends and contacts. Send them examples of your work and ask them if you can do something for them, in pure friendship. Maybe an intro or anything else. Graphicians and musicians can do the same. A little loaderpic for the Trackmo by a friend, or the song for a demo. There are much more ways to show the scene how good you are! Just be creative and you will find them! You have to decide what you prefer: Your small group with much friendship and a lot of work or the big groups with little work but less friendship. ¤Á¡Îend. JE/Tip&Mantronix Are Greatwn Out From A Shop >§ìÀ £À  É Long live Tip and Mantronix!  Æ ¢Ç by Friendly/Damian  Á ¨ Everybody knows them. Some like them, some hate them. For a long period they were the best musicians around (And still are!). I am speaking about the living legends  ÄTip and Mantronix Á. In the last time I heard or read many opinions about them, hundrets of rumours and a lot of 'burbs' and 'oinks'. Finally all the Tip&Matronix haters have reached what they wanted: Tip&Mtx are not any longer on top of the charts, still falling. "Why?" - I ask, because still no one is able to do such a great music with such a feeling or so nice melodies! Think about tunes like the Enigma-song or the Crystal Symphonies! I always was looking forward for more releases from Phenomena, just to listen to a new sound by Tip&Mtx! I think it's a laugh that Audiomonster is the No.1! He is not bad and surely belongs into the charts but not on the top! Everytime I heard the tunes from Tip&Mtx for the first time, a nice feeling began to awake in my stomach and I always thought how wonderful the song was. Many productions of Phenomena I only loaded to hear the great sound ('Especially the musicdisks', I hear you say) and I still do. When I hear other musicians talk "They just do Å popmusic Á. They are so BAD!", I just can say: Why not popmusic? What's wrong in doing music a lot of people like and love? I don't care about new and creative songs, I want to listen to music I like and love and it is not important what style it is and if it is original! Others take a closer look at the technic of the module, but are not aware that the song does not sound good. All these people do not care about music, they care about patterns. Now take CS I out of your box and insert it into your drive. Lean back and enjoy 'Gateway', the best atmospherical song I ever heard. After listening to it, decide what's better: Audiomonsters flutemixture or the groovy Stringplay by Tip&Mtx.  È Besides: Á A lot of friends of mine who have no idea about Amiga, enjoy the tunes from Mtx&Tip. Can you say that about another musician? I often listen hours to sounds from Tip&Mtx and cannot say that about other musicians. These guys did evergreens on the Amiga! Let's hope they will do some more... (Big thangs to you two for sending us your tune for this magazine!) ¤Á¡Îend. JE0Is This The End Of AMIGA-SCENE?"§ìÀ ¢Á¡Ê¤Ç ¤À £À ÍTHE END OF AMIGA-SCENE? ¤Ç¡Ê¢Á ¤À ¨ ¢Ç ÁIf you read the german Amiga-magazine called AMIGA you certainly have noticed an one page advertisement from a company named:  ÍMALLANDER COMPUTER SOFTWARE Á. Behind this company is just one poor guy which (he`s no normal human being) is called  ÊJan Dirk Mallander Á. He is not only selling lots of shit PD software for hundreds of german marks, but also much scene stuff! It`s called "Demo/Scene-Abo" and 12 disks cost 39 german marks! You get the biggest shit software you can imagine and a bill you never have dreamed of! This shithead does what nobody else dares...To sell scene productions for much money without asking the producers even if there is a special PD-note linked at the front end. Some short examples: I tried to place a order with this shithead for about 20 Disks with the latest scene stuff; just to get a better insight in his business. Well, I ordered the stuff by phone and wanted to receive the latest Issue of RAW and Stolen Data, some new megademos and demos. After I received the package after about 3 weeks  ÉI was shocked by the shit he sent me Á and the bill...20 german marks additionally for package, postage and such things, although the disks were just wrapped in a kind of paper, nothing more! In his advertisement he claims to have 100% errorfree disks - pha! 4 Out of 17 disks (I didn`t receice 20 although I paid for them) didn`t work because of some fatal disk errors. Ok, this could happen with every company, but not that stuff! I receiced issue #2 of RAW, and one of our own productions! I got very angry because he never has asked us to sell our production... But let`s have a look at the other shit offers in his advertisement. There you can get 500 C64-songs one one disk for "only" 39 german marks. This shithead sells the " ÍMost remembered C64-tunes Á" made by Hakan Sundel & Ron Birk for such a high price! But he`s even not able to count the songs! There are 100 Songs on the disk, but 500 effects like samples,... Further you can see a choice of  Êpatterns from Printmaster Á - for these you only have to pay 49 german marks...how cheap! Under the name "Altpaket" you can find only some PD programms released by Fred Fish for 199 german marks! I could continue this list of garbage until the next day but I won`t because this shithead is such stupid, he`s not worth being mentioned. If you have yourself a look at this ugly advertisement you have the biggest fun reading the shitty expressions which which he wants to fetch some new computer users looking out for some software.  ÉFor Example: Á In a box, which shows the contence of the package "Actiongames" he writes:  ÊNew Stubb City Á (Shooting with lasers in a city of vectors (hyper-modern way of programming!))  Íor  ÊFlag Catcher Á (Nobody knows, what is located behind a field. It could be a bomb or death.)  Í or  ÊGames for Children. Á A phantastic world for children from 1/2 - 14 years. (Hey Mallander shithead, try to make a 1/2 year old child play with the Amiga! And if a guy plays these games with 14 years he has the mind level of a snake!)  Íor  ÊSysinfo Á (gives informations about computer problems). Hey Mallander dud, this program only shows your system configuration! At the end of the box " ÉGames for children Á" you can see a mark from him... " ÊGreat - Einfach toll! Á" Yes, Mallander asshole, you are right, these games really meet the level of your sick mind! All in all you can say that this guy sells our hard work or PD-giftware for money, which you even wouldn`t have to pay at Ossowski Software. He shits on our heads and we (the scene) tolerate it... ÍThis can`t continue in the future!  ÁWe have to act right and screw him, because if he has success, many other shitheads like him will pop up in the near future and destroy the spirt of the Amiga-Scene... ÊJUST FOR FUN! Á ¤Á¡Îend.
