TODAYS SCENE ¾Todays Scene! ²------------- ¼By: Payday/Ram Jam ¹the scene of today is far away from what we used to call the scene only 5 years ago. 5 years ago the scene was almost only about making demos, and only a few groups cracked games/programs. today there is a big difference, most groups try to ²crack games/programs ¹and just a few (hum..maybe not) groups have the will to make demos today. the main reason for this is probably the damn ³modem ¹which almost all sceners have today, almost all new groups joining the scene today don't give a shit about demos and such stuff, they are only intrested in making lame /x utils and ascii collections, why is it like this? well everyone tries to go the easy way to reach some fame. you can make 100 /x utils by the time is takes to make a demo. and that means 100 releases insted of only 1. and the old fashion with mail swapping is about to die! why? because people can't figure out themselfs that they are destroying the scene by leaving swapping behind, many swappers stop swapping by mail and tries some modemtrading instead, and in the first months of trading by modem it's just great seing the latest issue of r.o.m. for an example, but soon you realise that there is only about 20% of all demo/intro releases who ends up at the boards. i don't know how to explain but i hope you all can figure it out. what sould we do to make the scene better? i think we should try to take ourselfs back in time 2-3 years when people had the gut's to release not so good intros and demos, today everything has to be perfect with extremely great routines and design. and this makes the scene more boring than ever, not many groups releases more than 2 productions a year insted of 5-6. think about it. and please try to leave the lame modem scene as it is, we don't need it! we can handle our loved demo scene whitout this arrogance and shit. i hope you have something to think about now. ³it's very important that we do our best to keep the scene as it once where. ¾payday/¢ram jam Ç2 ¾End ÿ
