@f00@taNow  you will probably  all think that
this  is an article  about how much it
stinks to loose  by 16 votes in a demo
competition.  Well, it's not! It would
probably  have been  easier  for me to
write  about  this  topic if  I hadn't
been a  member    of a group  that had
experienced   this, but anyway, I want
to bring it up.

To make up your mind about a demo, you
ought  to watch it  on a monitor  with
sound support   from  a normal stereo.
That's where you usually  see it,  and
that's where it ought to be seen.  The
big screens on parties  are essential,

and  they are great watching demos on,
but considering  the fact  that  these
screens can appear somewhat foggy, and
that the colours can be rather screwed
up, one is not able to get a good look
on every aspect of a demo. One may get
a marvelous first-impression of a demo
that turns  out to be a drag  when you
watch it on your own monitor.  Another
thing  is  that  cheating  can  easily
occur during   puclic voting.   At the
Hurricane party,  for instance, voting
sheets  were lying tossed all over the
place.

What one really should consider:  - is

@tajustice  really  fulfilled  at a party
with public voting?     I think not. A
jury established  by either  the group 
arranging   the party,       or people
acknowledged by  the scene in general,
will be a much better solution.   Why?
You would  avoid cheating.   You would
also  get a more  accurate impression,
because of the monitor.  You will have
time to make up your mind and possibly
run    the  demos  twice  if  you  are
uncertain of which demo to choose. And
last, all aspects of the demos will be
closely considered by people who knows
what a demo should look like,  and not
look like.  No offence intended!

Hopefully   the   partyarrangers  will
think about this in the future,  and I
hope we will have a jury at  THE PARTY
(Part II, THE FINAL!).

Anyhow,I agree with Archmage that it's
better to watch the demos  on monitors
where we usually see them and that the

BUT at the party this christmas people
will  be  able  to watch  the demos on
their own TVs    (not quite as good as
monitors, but ok)      because we will
broadcast the demo-competition    (and
other competitions as well)   with our
TV-transmitter.  And by the way, a new
powerfull   TV-transmitter    has been
built    since   last   year  so  that
everybody (with an antenna)    will be
able  to recieve   the signal  in pure
high quality,    just like if the demo
was booted from your own computer.

And of course we'll use the big screen
(6x4 meters) for the compos too.  This
is a very high quality screen(and damn
expensive too) so no foggy picture and
no screwed up colors or so. The screen
is  so sharp  that you won't miss  ANY
aspects of the demo.

About fake voting:     That simply can
NOT happen at our party  becoz we have
made  the best  voting  system around.
Just wait and see till you come to the
party.... hehe... SURPRISE!!!!!!!

I said earlier in this comment that we
will not have  any jury  at the party.
Erm. We will actually have one. We are
planning  to make a jury for the music
competition!  The jury will consist of
about  40% musicians  and    60% other
scene people. They will select approx.
20-25 modules which we will  then play
to the audience who will then vote!!!!
So no more z.zz..z.zzzzz..zzz.. hehe.
