Something totally different: Are youth and health a good investment? Is this shit Amiga worth ruining your life? Yes? Then you needn`t read any further - you have made your (fatal) choice! Those who are reading further on should let me explain my position and how I reached it. I am in the computer biz for more than 4 years. I started on the C-16, then went over to C-64 and bought at last an Amiga. On the C-16 and the C-64 I was just playing games, like Spectipede, Tuberunner, Pirates, Street Sports Basketball and so on, between 2 and 6 hours a day and more. @^ Now I have got an Amiga (ya didn`t think of it, eh?) and wanting more than fun (one day you want some MONEY) and games, I joined the scene with a selfmade group called UNITED CRACKING SERVICE (U.C.S.). We started an abo for hot modemstuff and planned some releases (we are STILL planning some). In fact, we are one group of thousand others. Because of my function as leader, I now have got to do much work, like searching new members and customers, planning releases, searching musax and grafix for the intros and so on and so on. You know this fucking work as good as I do. And you`ll probably know who much time one has to invest in such a job. Step by step I @# @t5,09 @k320,000,17 @^@t4lost more and more spare time, I am sitting in front of this monitor many hours a day, and YOU do, TOO! I am now 17 years old and I`ve been sitting in front of computers for many many weeks, if you count the hours together. And what for? What for are we sitting in front of the monitors and TVs while life and our youth are passing by? Imagine you are e.g. 35, you are working in a company or elsewhere and you can`t stand it any longer to do the same things every day and so you are wandering back to youth in your mind and you wish to be 16 again. And while wandering you realize that you haven`t used the carefree time in which you could have done everything you wish,you have been playing the same games on and on instead, you have wasted days with fantastic weather, wasted the chance to meet new friends, wasted the time to read a good book, wasted the time to go @# @t5,09 @^@tato the near city and buy some nice things for your girlfriend, wasted the time to GET a girlfriend, wasted your whole youth. Is this damned computer worth it? Are those guys you call "friends" or "contacts", who live in a town or a country you`ll never reach, worth your youth? Can you still look your (grand)parents straight in the eyes, when the tell you stories about their childhood and call this the most fantastic time in their lifes, and when you hear that they wish to be as young as you are now, isn`t your heart burning a bit? No? It should be. And you are not only losing your youth, you are losing your health, too. One day you`ll have to pay a high toll for the hours you spent for the Amiga. You are sitting totally false now, with your shoulders hanging down and your round back. Some of you will sooner or later have a bad back, you will cry for an @^hour of peaceful sleep. Some of you will lose the ability to concentrate in school or while reading a book or having a discussion. Some of you will get short-sighted because of the monitor. Some of you will even get cancer from the rays the monitors are sending to your mind. Sounds like a piece of Harmageddon, eh? Yep, you won`t negotiate that these piece of shit is making you ill, or will you? Do you see a sense in wasting your time? If you do, then start up with better arguments than fun! I can have fun everywhere else and for those who argue for the scene parties, I say: I can get drunk everywhere else! Yes, that was it. Think about this article. I will turn off this thing in a minute and will go to my girlfriend. I am not fucking my computer, like some guys seem to do, because they are sitting the whole night in front of it! @@
