PD games reviews ---------------- PSYCHEUAL From Online, Wallasey ( shareware ) Psychewhat? I don't know how it's pronounced, but I do know this: it's great. This is a one level demo of a top down blaster. For all the levels, you'll need to send some cash. And one day I may even do this, showing just how groovy it really is. Why is it great? Attention to detail. The plot is typical shoot-em sci-fi stuff, but the game itself has so many little features that make all the difference. Little virus-infected madmen have run amok on a spacestation, you have to waste them and engage the self-destruct, then leg it. But some of the men are sort of invisible. And there's been a radiation leak. And the autodestruct has the silliest activation sequence #7More>>>@1 ever. Oh dear. The game is a well executed shooter, but look at all the effort that's been put in. Why not play space invaders on the station computer? Engage the destruct sequence and everything goes moody red and a klaxon sounds. There's even a piccy of Helena Bonham-Carter when you complete the level. Get it. Graphics- 84% Men explode into goo when shot. Hurrah! Sound- 82% Small (but good) music bits and good fx. Gameplay- 92% Smoooth. Overall 90% Buy it, and then send off for the version with more levels and guns. #7More>>>@1 @7P.D SHITe ----------------------> Reviewed by M.S.C. @4 This weeks one page fill-in is Transplant Transplant is a 2-D overhead shoot-em-up. And to my complete surprise.. .....actually appeared to be #3GOOD@4 ( a strange phenomena ). The game is generally just flying around in space, shooting all these weird and wonderfully strange alien spacecraft. These spacecraft can be from crappy little things that don't fire anything, to big dokkoff huge things that can shoot you with one shot. I've got a feeling that this is an old game ( I think I can remember playing a version of it on a really old A.F. ( Amiga Format ) coverdisk.....although it might have been CU Amiga..... or Amiga User International, or Amiga Computing. Dash it all, the memory's #7More>>>@4 not as good as it used to be Mildred ( eh ? ). The game can be played as either 2 Players together, 2 Players fighting against each other ( but still with the aliens flying around ), or 1 Player on his own. There are many power-ups to collect, with everything from 5-way shots to super speedy.....erm......speed-ups. This makes the game a whole lot more interesting, and it is very satisfying to destroy one alien, collect a weapons power-up, and then batter your mate to smithereens with it! HaH Hah Hah HAh, how I laughed. #7More>>>@4 Graphics : 76% ( they're good for a P.D. Game ) Sound : 81% ( the SfX rattle around convincingly ) Playability : 92% ( Very Addictive indeed, 'specially with a mate.... sorry Molgrat ) Overall : 87% ( V/Good ) As Usual, all the _____ is a ___ and you would be a ____ to ______ it* * This comment was edited as it was untrue.
