My five favourite goals that I witnessed

These  five  goals  are  goals  where  I  was there, in the ground be it
standing,  sitting,  queuing  for hot dogs whatever, they are special to
me.  (Looks at camera, flutters eyelashes).


1 - Jason Dozzell V Norwich City 19/4/93

The  East  Anglia  Derby  at Portman Road, we were leading 2-1 thanks to
Mick  Stockwell  when Chris Kiwomya passed to Dozy, he turned a defender
inside out, ran for ten yards and hit a perfect shot low into the corner
to  give  us a 3-1 lead.  The roar was earsplitting and the celebrations
lasted for a good ten minutes.


2 - Neil Thompson V Southend 4/4/92

Its  1-1 with a minute left, Kiwomya sends Thommo away down the left, he
reaches  the penalty area, what does he do, pass?  Square the ball?  No,
he  cuts  inside  and  hits  a right footer past the keeper into the far
corner  to  give Ipswich a 2-1 win and send us eight points clear at the
top  of  division 2.  A superb goal and one we knew would almost send us
up.


3 - Carlton Palmer Sheffield Wednesday V Ipswich 13/11/93

Imagine  the scene, your team is 3-0 down at home and the opposition are
pissing  on you, Carlton Palmer gets the ball, goes through your defence
like  a  knife  through  butter  and  belts a shot high into the corner.
Would you stand up and applaud it??  We did, cracking goal.


4 - Simon Milton V Blackburn 11/4/93

This  game  was  live  on  Sky but I went to it anyway, myself and a few
mates  spent  six  hours  driving to Ewood Park to see us go 2-0 down in
half  an  hour.  Second half Simon Milton picks the ball up 25 yards out
and  wallop!  Hits a corker of a shot into the net, the assembled throng
of  250  Town  fans  went  barmy,  and I got my face on Sky Sports going
apeshit.


5 - Gary Megson V Norwich 19/12/93

How  could  I forget it?  A wonderful own goal to give us a victory over
Norwich,  deep  into  stoppage time, a corner whipped in and Gary Megson
bullets  a header past Bryan Gunn.  The whole ground erupted in jubilant
celebration  and  about  50 fans ran on the pitch hugging Craig Forrest,
the  whistle  blew  and the song "2-1 we beat the scum 2-1" echoed round
Portman Road.
