|2-Away Win |1-by Mammoth/Independant Yes its true, Ipswich Town won away from home, 4-1 at Reading. It was a day of firsts, first away win, Paul Masons first of the season and Geraint Williams (unbeleivably) scored the fourth. I didnt go cos I need every penny I can get, I am off to Croydon soon to start work as an Analyst/Programmer/Consultant. First away match I miss and we win it, typical eh?? Anyway, I was listening to the Rugby World Cup final and bashing up articles for The Word when I heard we were one up, "Yes" I thought. Not to optomistic cos we have took the lead away from home three times to be pegged back, second half they equalised then Paul Mason scored immediately after. Ten minutes left I am nervously watching Teletext, then the score clicks up to three one with Alex Mathie getting the third. I spend five worried minutes snouting through the other divisions to see how other teams had got on (Scunthorpe won 8-1 at Torquay, Peterborough won 6-1 against Bury). I flicked back to 305 and saw it.... Reading 1-4 Ipswich Town dunno 64 Uhlenbeek 43 Mason 67 Mathie 85 Williams 90 <--------- Bloody Hell!!!!! I nearly fainted, he scores less than John Major in Stringfellows, in fact both games he has scored in I have missed. But I digress, I ran out of the van, did a lap of honour round it leaping about and yelling, then realised the neighbours were watching. Did I care?? Did I BOLLOX!! My team had won away from home and as far as I was concerned I was long overdue a celebration, remember the fact that we lost 1-0 at home to Luton the previous week so I was feeling a bit happy. So, next week, who have we got??? Grimsby at home, Pex le Sex, see you at Portman Road! (If you're going that is). Blue Army! End
